  • 94 dislikes for people that chew rubber bands since the last longer.. Scratch built works for me, if you wanted to play be the clock,,,,solid boosters would be better, except you couldn't fit your balls in the seat!

  • this is the problem with turbine engines, the starting is really slow, but when they take some acceleration, they can reach incredible speed

  • Great video and build! I'm making a very similar engine (see my channel)! My question to you is, where did you manage to get that JFS-100 power turbine section?

I'm on a budget, and most say they'd sell for $2,500 (like avon aero, etc).

    Just curious, Thanks!

  • Very cool! Never seen anything like that before. Excellent job! Do you still mess with this stuff?

  • Thats amazing!

  • Epic engineering!

  • Did anyone else expect it to be fast? Rick rolled....

  • What model engine does this kart have? How much horsepower and torque does it generate? Is it street legal? If so, where can I buy one?

  • HUH HUH HUH He said shaft....

  • lol "shaft powered" :L

  • Don't know whether to call you an engineer or a mad scientist my friend, but you built something that even James Bond would be proud of. All it needs now is an ejector seat.

  • Dude that shit is cool a lot of time went into that....

  • thats a really nice trubo on there

  • How did you do the shaft drive, did you custom fabricate everything or did you use a turbocharger, I know you have made the big point that this isn't commercial I just am not sure.

  • I was waiting on some main thruster to go booom then shoot flames and rocket off. Thats cool as hell man. Good job.

  • yeah it's slow but the cool factor definately makes up for it

  • nice :) pretty impressive for a home build.

  • I always like to see people tinkering with engines etc, one day you'll build something that blows people away and you can look back at this vid and say "this is where it all started" good stuff.

  • nice work i have seen cars slower then 16sec at the 1/8 mile track :-)

  • faster than a haonda haha

  • this thing is fucking awesome!!

  • nice idea shame it would go quicker with pedals

  • Very cool dude!

how long did it take you ?

  • maybe you should stop saying maybe should i unless its followed by kill yourself.

  • That must have been a fun build. I love people who do things a tad different.

  • how boring

  • badass

  • yeah i agree fast or not thats a nice piece of work

  • @rednoseroxy

    lol...

  • That is freaking awesome! You go!

  • that tight,l im a jet engine mechanic for the harrier, seein a smaller type of jet engine is prett awesome

  • get a roll cage on that before you roll it and kill your self, be safe frist then speed, you mite want to remove the spring and shocks too to prevent a roll over and lower it, and dont use knobbie tireds thay tend to bite more and more the more it slides use smooth tires,

  • cool kart, it sounds like a ufo or something :D:D:D

  • corvette killer

  • i think i can run that in my dads Mazda Tribute=D

  • @Pharaohs2747 hey lamb

  • That's 1/8th mile, right?

  • lol

  • @kladivous build an own and post the video here. good luck.

  • wow, crazy engineering going on here. A few more fine tunings and tests and you should be good!

  • hello idiots, its a turbine that needs time to have fullpower.

  • that shit is slow

  • prove it

make a lawn mower powered go kart and post it

  • so much turbine knowledge fail here too.

oh my god, the space shuttle only goes 23,000 miles per hour?

call of duty 12 lets me shoot 2 flamethrowers at the same time while i'm rappelling out of my f16 into the chuck norris infested swamps of south east asia!!!

this is real jet turbine tech.

it aint an engine off a stealth fighter, there is no government weapons sponsorhip money here.

this is some home tinkering and hobbying here.

quit hating and post YOUR own vids.

  • @tapper45 chuck norris swamps!!! priceless lol

  • @tapper45 so thats why hes so badass.. he grew up in swamps...

  • throttle lag. turbines dont start producing serious power until about 75% power. lag time is about 7 seconds with that engine. so if you could cut the lag about three seconds you would see a differant animal..very neat. i love turbine engines

  • Stop it a 0:40... look at the blue sign. I smell sponsorship

  • A for effort.

  • turbo lagg lol

  • How long the tires last? does this car have a differential?

  • haha cool project. Is that a hugh turbo?

  • wow i live by bunker hill kinda

  • So much grammar and spelling fail in here.

  • In reply to bob's post.

No sir a turbine moving fluid in grate volume,at hi speed restricted and ported as high preshure

to a drive unit on the axle will be like a torque converter alowing the turbine to be at full or max, R.P.M. before the power is ever directed to the tires And hydolic fluid is static "it can not be compressed" so it will be one to one on the rear drive by the ratio of the venturie that you port the fluid to,

  • dont even listen to these people hatin on it this thing is cool as ice!!

  • second

  • You got the right idea, but the wrong way of useing all that power, You need to spin a hyrolic pump like a tesla turbine off the main shalft turn your axle off a hydrolic motor, and have the"clutch" be a bypass valve, vrom hydolic turbine to main hydrolic fuid tank, when you reales,or close the valve,it can now only return to resevor by spinning the wheel's thue the hydrolic motor, this allows more Rpm ,on the turbine, befor power transffer ocurs!

  • hydraul needs torque jets are all about rpm.... right church wrong pue.

  • Come on people give the man some credit ... He researched , he built , he developed ! Now let him research a little more ... i bet he can smoke your rice burner hondas next build !

  • maybe I should clear some things up since some people can't read. This kart was built as a hobby project. I built the twinshaft turbine from scraps, it is not a commercial turbine - therefor is not going to give you commercial results. Had it been a thrust engine, it would have been around 150lbs of thrust. Extracting power from the exhaust to turbine energy is much more efficient. I wasn't going for any speed records, just a safe place to run this home built contraption.

  • @turbinebuilder im wondering...how do you come by or get a jet turbine?

  • @turbinebuilder are u a like some sort of a engineer??and i liked the cart!!!

  • @turbinebuilder why not mate ;) ignore the haters. They probably just read a load of stuff and dont even have control of there own shed!

  • slow as turtle lol

  • and a high speed record is broken...

  • ok do it again

  • that thing better not blow in ur neck

  • well it sounds cool!!!! lol

  • lol at 0:29 hey says whe have no idea:p

  • Very nice

  • maybe I should clarify something for the ignorant. This was a complete HOMEBUILT turbo shaft engine. Nothing commercial about it. It wasn't supposed to run 3 seconds at the strip, I was just there to test it out. Second, its not thrust powered, the turbojet exhaust is converted to shaft power via a power turbine, which drives the wheels. Its low RPM, high torque.

  • @turbinebuilder: Was it intentionally a high-torque engine or is it just the nature of the gas turbines? Could you share some fuel consumption and performance info please? Thanks in advance!

  • i bealive i can run a 15 flat on an 1/8th of a mile but still congrats on ur built .

  • my bike is faster

  • lol?

  • WOW VERY FAST !!! :)

  • It looks like LEGO!

  • i could piss faster than that

  • A shopping cart could out run that.

  • To all the naysayers: this guy *built his own turboshaft* and put it on a go-kart. No matter how fast or slow it is, that's pretty damn cool.

  • shit that sucked major balls.

i could push a little HOT WHEELS car to the finish line faster than that

  • baaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - why did i watch that!

  • OMG THATS FAST!!!

  • i can walk faster than that

  • ill keep that in mind

  • cut'em some slack people... they're shikin' it down... you don't take a car like that and run balls-out on the first pass
