My suggestion is to try Remo Emperor Coated heads on the batter side of each of the toms and bass drum, and a Remo Emperor-X head on the batter side of the snare drum.
is this model # LJR106? Im getting these for my 5 yr old. Upon getting it what do you recommend upgrading? I'm looking at getting Evans Onyx 2-ply batters, and a Gibraltar 5611 Single Bass Pedal. Still trying to sort out what cymbals I wanna go with. How has the hi-hat stand held up so far?
@RedAppleRadio Yeah I think so..For a 5yo new heads and cymbals with stands would be a good move.. Kick and hat pedals are a little weak as well..drums are good quality drums and should last him a long time with care..
@CASTAirsoft Might wanna see if she will look to the normal size ones for you..can find them just as cheap as these and will better serve you in the long run
i have these drums but in the normal size they are great. my mom got them at a garage sell for 350. retail they are about 899. they are a little used but still sound great after i tuned the heck out of them, still not totally perfect(had it just 2 days). but i put a pillow and a small blanket in it and its amazing how the bass will sound so much better from that!
