  • Great song. I had the biggest crush on Fenton when I was a teenager. He had the coolest look.

  • OLDE...,

    "Kay Are Oh Que" MUSIC!

When PUNK & NEW WAVE Was YOUNG & So DIFFERENT!!!!!!

  • they make me ejaculate

  • lol his faces at 0:46

  • Never heardthis mix befre. Great! They had some great songs on the first LP and the J Peel session was killler.

  • How i wish they would have put out 10 more records

  • the Vapors were such a cool New Wave band......

  • Such a great group. When do they make comeback ?

  • What a find! Great band!

  • Sou Muiito fã dos caras!!

outra muscia boa dos caras é Civic Hall

  • i ♥ 80s!!!!

lástima que nací en 1993 u.u

  • Mysteriesforhire is a clever little devil! He's right of course - I am amazed he knows so much about the band. There were no brass parts on the album and they never played live like that either. They were in my humble opinion, the best band of that era and if it were not for a strike at the BBC one week when they should have played News at Ten on Top of the Pops, they could have been the household name they deserved to be. Harry150li knows his stuff too!! Great to know the band is still loved.

  • @iwanther kinda right there were two mixes released of this song the LP version had guitars in the "solo" section" the single release had a Sax insert..great song either way from a brilliant band saw them play live 3 times

  • it takes me back

  • Tengo el single!!! Es algo diferente esta versión.

    Pero ambas son una pasada.

  • The Vapors, that's what I get after a big bean burrito.

  • I notice that this has more instruments than the album version (New Clear Days).

    Is this an alternate track?

  • @mysteriesforhire

Yep, this was released by 45 single as well after the album. The song had been re-recorded with horn sections etc, as you noticed.

  • @harry150li

Thank you so much for the information Harry!

Now the hunt will be on to find a copy.

    Murderously Yours,

    JEREMY

  • the vapors lo mejor

  • Great video!!

I was the lucky enough to be the 100th person to join the Vapors fan club, and got to see and meet the band at The Marquee in Wardour Street..

One of the band said to me "I KNOW YOU!!!!!!"

It transpiored that I sold him a ticket every day at Belsize Park station on the northern line!!

    What a small world!!

The Vapors is and always will be one of my favourite bands.

  • what happen to this band? Was one of my prefer bands

  • Sadly they split up. A great shame as they were a truly brilliant band.

  • probably the ONLY band i ever saw more than once...!! three times in the NYC area...81' or 82'...they were playing Jimmie Jones which had not yet been released on the album Magnets...truly one of the GREAT 'post-punk' bands.I've been hearing their sound copied and borrowed from by many bands over the years...but they've never been quite equalled !!

  • I've never seen this video, thanks for posting, I've all their records, one of the best powerpop bands from that era

  • saw them 79/80 backing the jam. bruce foxton managed them. good album 'new clear days'. great post thank you x

  • The first gig I ever went to, The Vapors playing in Guildford. I was SO in love with Dave Fenton, lmao! I was 14 years old and got drunk on the train coming home. All I remember is throwing up in the kitchen sink with my mum yelling "you've fallen off your pedestal now my girl, you've fallen off your pedestal now!" Happy days. :)

  • lol amazing!!!

  • british band liking a 57 chev...how cool is that?

  • The calendar on the wall when they check in for work, is English and Japanese.

  • Looks like a subtle reference to another song of theirs...

  • Excellent tune. Fantastic band.

  • 9 hours until he meets her again, that means he doesn't get paid for lunch, cheapskates

  • because this is the 7inch single version . and the other is album version

  • So great! Brings me back to the early days of MTV.

  • wowowow, they are really good! :O

  • Does anybody know where I can get the tab or chords for this song? This is prolly one of my favorite Vapors songs but I can't find the tab anywhere.

  • sorry, i dont know where!

    ultimate-guitar or 911tabs - nothing!

  • this version sounds better than the cd.

  • Man another Vapors vid I never knew about!

  • Except this is different from the album track, wonder why they did that?

  • This version was released as the single in the U.K. My guess is that it was re-recorded when they did the album. IMHO the bass line is better, but that is what's so great about the days of the 45.... you get something extra. There's even freakin sax line in there at the end. YIKES!!!!!

  • Slattery...Ivan Osbourne...Tod Hansen...Chemel...Joe Jack...OK, I've done enough damage - GREAT TUNE!

  • I Love This Side B, Rare Stuff!!! Keep It Comin' People!!!

  • Great song but I like better the original version

  • I think that this is the original version, recorded as a single and then rerecorded for the album.

  • what a song! awesome

  • Hey thanks for posting this, I haven't seen this video in ages and bought the LP back then for this song as well. I enjoy Letter From Hero too. The 80's rock.

  • awesome song!!!

  • wow, thanks for posting this!

  • alguien podria pasarme la letra de esta cancion o decirme de donde puedo sacarla¿?

ya que no la consigo por ningun lado!

    desde ya,

    muchas gracias

  • I just got "vaporized" the cd with both their albums on it, I can't stop listning to new clear days they had loads of great songs on it, magnets wasent as good though. this song shoulda been a number 1.

  • EXCELENTE!!!

  • David fenton is the fucking coolest.

  • always wondered if the line ''i spend all my time inside you'' working against it becomong the hit it should have been...great great song..

  • I guess I was NOT the only one in the US to buy New Clear Day?

Takes me back--Thank you for posting! We're all Turning Japanese whether we want to or not.

  • this album was all hits. but in the

80's radio stations were so reluctant to play new wave the vapors got left out. only mtv started playing turning japanese. that's why we know that song

  • alguien puede decirme de que año es esta canción ? es de la misma época que "turning japanise" ? por favor pasen el dato

  • correcto es del mismo album "new clear days" de presentación 1980 como dijera el maestro Luis Gerardo Salas, buen album, buena musica

  • This was a band that really had potential, damn they were great. Turning japanese, Jimmie Jones, and anything off their album Magnets. i really had high hopes for you guys. best of all to the Vapors!

  • reminds me of hangin out with Tony Brown at the 7-11 on 24th st, trying figure out every lyric to New Clear Days. GREAT TIMES!!!!

    heres to the "BONER" HK

  • One of my favorite bands. Never heard this version before (or seen the video).

  • David Fenton: The only person in history to have ever made a mullet look cool. Saw them in Atlanta in the 80's - one of the best gigs ever. Is there a video for "Prisoner Number 1"? If so, someone please post it!

  • Mullet Pop!

  • amazing pop song craftsmenship

  • This is a little differet but sill brilliant

  • True, this is a different version. I bought the album when it first came out. lol! I'm of the opinion that they were the progenitors of grunge, and that the mainstream wasn't ready yet. These guys never got the credit that they deserved.

  • Amo tanto esta cancion... No pensé que la iba a encontrar.

    Gracias por agregarla ^_^

  • i like this song..that guy is funny the faces he did

  • this video - like all of THE VAPORS songs -

    R O C K !!!!

and this is actually a totally DIFFERENT version

of the ORIGINAL track which u hear on their album!
