Man I remember this game so well; probably my favorite game on the genesis (Most of my allowance went to SNES games); you could totally skimmer your way through to the last DEATH duel if you got one or two of the super-tiny "figure 8" horizontal flying insects.

I was a sales associate at Electronics Boutique when this game was released. What's funny is that EB paid to release this game as an "EB exclusive!" We were to be the only game store with Death Duel, and we had display boxes all over our front 4-way display a full week in advance advertising the game. But then... oops. Turns out that copies got shipped to all of our competitors, too. So we were told to take the display down the day it was released. And then... I don't think we sold any, anyway.

It's crazy... I love this game but. When I play this game, everyone is incredibly difficult, everyone is firing on me big time, blocking or moving a lot. In this video no one is doing anything to attack you or defend themselves. Its crazy.

@Sparisi1122 Disregard the previous comment. I was thinking of the 32x, and forgot megadrive was what Genesis was called everywhere else. It's a North American cartridge and it's been shipped out. Thanks again for the review. With the limited selection I didn't want to waste my hard earned points on a game that sucks.

My cousin went ape over this game. I agree that it was an ultra-obscure title that either had you hooked from the first play, or made you trade it and never look back.

I never got very good at the game myself. Defeated the first 2 or 3 robots, but beyond that was pure luck.

Not on my all time favorites list, but certainly on my most-memorable list for it's unique style and gameplay.

I think more amazing isn't the girls tanktop, it is that the girl is the size of the monsters, and the monsters are the size of the robot AND you are inside the robots head, that means that this girl is HUGE!!!!!!!!! you are the size of her head basically!

I went out and bought the game for .75 cents from a local dime-store after I saw the review. I was disappointed that it didn't have the narration, but the game really was kinda fun. Surprisingly hard.

Underpriced! I'd pay it! The special Game Room edition should come with an ice cold beer, a large order of waffle fries as well as Wind Squid and Edit-Station 1 promo material. Might go for more than a quarter then but well worth the $ :D
