@burkdollm familiar with the tank and the daily activitys and when he is more comfortable with what is going on the. You can put the rock back in.

I have a question: I just got my blue gourami and it seems to be really shy i guess yo could say. I have him in with 2 male guppies and a pleco. Everytime i approch the fish tank the gourami darts under the rock that i have set up so im not sure if he is getting any of the food i am putting in the tank. Do you have any suggestions?

@petstoreguy12 They are both territorial fish so you’re going to see a lot of fights unless you have a nice big tank with lots of hiding spots so they will keep out of each others way, but yes they can be kept together but it’s not the best idea. Thank you

@reardon699, @MrSandboxer, It's a real plant. It's called Aluminium Plant. But I'm pretty sure it's not an aquatic plant. I don't think it will last under water for very long.

They've got pretty flexible bodies for their size and their coloration is remarkable. I just bought one to put in my tank along with a rainbow shark and pictus catfish.

if u dont have many more fish in the tank, u should be able to fit another gourami.

Probably, they are territorial and a 10 gallon would not give two enough space for each to have his own territory.

I dont know about the little ones but i have a 300 gal tank and i had a giant blue tail gourami and i brought home a red one about the same size it was about 17" or so and they fought like crazy. so i wouldnt buy another gourami for your tank.

Is your Gourami agressive at all? My Dwarf Gourmi is a fin nipper. The sign said that he was a community fish which means he shouldn't be nipping at other fishes fins!

males tend to be more violent. Also, gourami fish are suseptable to a lot of stress, sickness and disease. Try feeding the fishies better quality food, clean the tank like, 2 times a week and observe the gourami's behavior. The gourami may not be feeling well.

Well since you put him in another little home, just try and feed him well. I'd suggest that you go and ask your local fish pet store not just a pet store but a fish pet store. Tell them you need some food for your dwarf gourami and you'd like to make sure It feels better because it is acting up and looking suspicious. :P Good luck.

1 inch of fish per gallon. 2 gouramis of that size should fit there but only in a species ONLY tank or it will be overcrowding and a definate raise in nitrates.

i would recommend keeping them in pairs and they should be ok with your other fish. the males are more colourful than the females. the females are silver with faint green and yellow stripes;)
