Great gun for the money. I love the chrome finish, size and weight since it adds stabillity when shooting. Relatively low recoil and great intermediate round for reliable stopping power. Sure you could go with 9mm or 44m but try that shooting weak handed if your cross wired like me...becomes uncontrolable!
and I thought people bashed HP pretty bad. saying they are the worst guns, can't break them down to clean them, lol. I have owned three HP pistols, and I loved all three. I just bought a Cobra 380. shiny. glad to know people thinks it looks cheesy. oh well. I hope mine does good. nice background in the video. happy shooting.
Believe it not, I got curious about these Cobra pistols and I went out and bought one today. Anyways, they are pretty cheap looking with all that chrome, but these guns are very heavy for what they are, almost as heavy as a 1911. I haven't shot it yet, for that matter I haven't found out how to take it down, since the manual doesn't say how to. But from what I can see inside, the firing pin is kinda cheap and the ejector is stamped metal, very thin. I will post a video when I get a chance.
Yeah, my old cobra shown in the video unloaded is heavier the both my XD40sc loaded & my 1911ALR. To break the FS380 you need to push in the button around the firing pin at the rear of the slide, pull slide back some, & lift slide. Becarful not to let the trigger spring shoot out, it little & a bitch to find.
Just about all the guns jam after about 200 rounds... the gun will develop a bur in the middle of the slide just behind the ejector. This is a simple fix with the use of an fine round file. You have to file it down good & smooth.. dont worry you not going to mess it up.
Its an ok first gun, good to learn the basics of a firearm. Dont recommend for defensive carry unless you performed the repair to the slide.
Yeah, they are pretty damn heavy. This pistol is heavier than the Kimber 1911 that I carry every day. The guy Sleeper04 used to own the pistol in the vid. He could help you with the breakdown and a few other things with this pistol that he found out about. And the chrome . . . .YES very cheesy! lol
I figured out how to take it down shortly after I bought one. Heavy isn't the word for these, but if it ever failed to fire you could beat someone with it and knock them out.
These aren't that bad of guns, they shoot and that is all that matters. Not everyone can afford a Glock, S&W or Springfield. So, while it's not the highest quality gun, it will defend your life if need be. They come with a lifetime warranty, just like the hi-points, but you know, they might not be around 50 years from now. Either way, it's a gun, I've owned plenty of them over the years and have had plenty of problems even with the best of firearm makers.
cobras really do suck..they jam just about every shot...i would never use one for self defense...i would hope that an attacker would have one so i now i have a good chance of surviving an attack,
i agree. im all about inexpensive firearms but having owned one of this gun and trying a number of ammunition brands. this thing never functioned properly. a lot of stovepiping
HEY i own a cobra 380 pistol and shot it a couple of times ***not at a shooting range***
so i only shot once at a time.(pulling the trigger once then taking the clip out) just so i wont get trigger happy...but i wanted to know can my 380 automatic shoot several rounds like this on the vid or do i have to keep pulling it back to load it again
How does the cobra 380 treat you. I know they're cheap making me skeptical of how much I should pull out of my wallet. any jamming or malfuncions? I've heard good n bad about cobra but I like to know the deal on everyones POV.
Im am the shooter in the video, type of ammo has nothing to do with the jam.. After a few hundred runs the gun will develop a bur in the middle of the slide just behind the ejector. This is a simple fix with the use of an fine round file. Other then the simple issue I had to figure out the pistol work well. I enjoy it, tho it is a lil hefty for its size, which bothers me non. It would be good to throw at an attacker if you run out of ammo lol
The Cobra .380 can jam unless you use Federal ammo. I've tried several types, and that is the only one that didn't jam. Let's face it, it is a cheaply made gun, and not reliable enough for self defense... but it's an ok target gun.
Yeah! He loves it. Had a small prob. with a weak spring in one mag. Every now and again the pistol would jam. The pistol fires great with the tight mag in. He purchased it from a local shop and got a few extras and still came out with money in his pocket! Great price for the 380! The only thing other than the spring prob. that I could say would be is that its heavy for a small 380. Other than that he likes it as a owner and I enjoy shooting it when we go shooting.

Is he happy with that Cobra 380? Has he had any specific problems with it? I think it is a good looking gun and the price is friendly.
