yohiara, its interesting you say that cos Chiara should def have won when she sang back in 2005 and her song this year was better than her placing. Though i think sweden should have won this year. it was fabulous. This song very good but not the best

polyphemous, interesting that you mention sweden, because I think Malena is a similar case as Chiara. Many complain about her age and her "ugly looks" (???). Her voice did not carry through the verse parts very well, but in the refrain she sang the entire competition into pieces with her marvelous voice. I had her in my personal Top 10.

I dont like American Idol, nor Eurovision, because the best singers never win. Always when audience in their respective countries vote by sms or phone, the results are awful. There should be a jury.

this year it was different. half votes from public voting + another half from professional juries in corresponding countries. and in some cases it was funny or outrageous. for example, public vote in Ukraine gave russian singer 12 points, but pro-jury gave zero. why? because she's ukrainian who decided to perform for Russia. i think that jury considered her as a traitor, and zero points. outrageous?

So,...it is easy to see how unfair the voting system is. I am not an expert in the singing field, but it is obvious that sms and telephone voting is just to make money, and the singing talent is set appart. In my case, I did not like Norway because I found the song very weak and the guy was singing with many many people on the stage. A singing contest must be about "the singer" and not a "big show", sometimes someone can win because he/she is beautiful, not because "talent" :):)

how wrong you are. look at the Maltese 2nd and 3d place in 2005 and 1998 with Chiara, she is fat and she ended very high. This is a great song and a true number 2. and by the way it is not only televoting it is also a jury voting. Why do people always moan so much? I think that the SMS and phone voting must be made from anywhere in the world, not just from Europe. For example I live in Lebanon, and I watched Eurovision and I really wanted to vote but I couldn't.Then the SMS and calls should be free because some people don't vote because of the price.Anyway sommermannbt you are somehow right. Yes,,,,certain song contests should find another voting method so that the general audience does not have the feeling that there has been a trick to manipulate the results. We hope this voting dilema changes one day. The same problem is by the talent contest at the Miss World, each candidate must offer a talent performance, but for me all of them are talented, how can a cultural talent performance be better than other? it could be interpreted as discrimination and unfair.

This was the song that grew the most on me this year. When i first heard this, studio version, I thought she would not sound so good live... But i couldn't be more wrong! Breathtakingl!!!

The exact opposite happened with Norway, when i first heard i loved it and after some times it became kinda dull (Unfortunately the first impression is what matters, since many hear the songs only on the final night)
