Few questions: my bike is an enduro (XR650R) which I never put in the back of my truck (street legal). If I get put in studs, will the short trip to the dirt roads on the pavement eat them up or eff up the rubber on the tire from ripping them out? I understand that trail riding dulls them to the point they become useless on ice, right?
Hi, thanks for the question, you shouldn't drive with studs on the roud, because they will lose they're sharpness, they won't go out from the tyres. ;) I supose that you should choose you will ride trails or on ice, because if you will ride trails you can't ride on ice, because studs will leave round.

@longer757 That honda is 250 2stroke, it cost 2800 USD. But this is in europe, i think in USA prices are lower. :)

I have found out, that to buy studed is better, because i had a lot of punctures in tyre.
