hey im just saying you can just go to the greybeards and when they neal down sneek behind them and hit the with the iron dagger. u can level up at least 10 times before they get up. Dont hit them when they get up though because they go jackie chan on yo ass OK.

at the start, choose the stormclock. when it comes to the point where the captain and the soldier come through the gate, kill them and take the key off of the captain quickly. The guy you chose to go with will then stand next to the gate you need to go through waiting for you to open it but instead, you can get sneak and other combat skills up :)

Or you could just get a steel dagger from the torturer from the Keep at the start and when the bear part comes stab the shit out of him in the back. Got 100 sneak out of it, haven't played the character properly yet, but it does work. Also you can train any skill on him at the bear part, Blade or Magick, its your choice.

im surprised no one has posted a video of this because a better way of leveling up a lot of your skills is to do the dark brotherhood questline and get the horse Shadowmane or whatever it is called then just stab him with your weapons, shoot him with arrows, etc.

A better way of this is to go to High Hrothgar. Go into the corridors and find one of the Greybeards sitting down and praying. Go behind him and sneak, then repeatedly do this. You stay hidden until he stands up (once ever 30 seconds) but sits down again in like 10 seconds.

I got to level 60 Sneak in 20 minutes and level 38 One-Handed in the same time.

you say that this will make your character more balanced than using the illusion method? what happens if you choose to never level up. like when you get a level progression, the xp bar stays full until you "level up" in the skills menu. if I am not mistaken couldn't you just stay at a low level and get 100 illusion? or is there something i am missing?"

not a great way to level up because each time you do a sneak attack on him he goes down in one hit and the pot on his head comes off so you have to do it again, this method is way too slow, i am trying to get to High Hrothgar up the mountains but i can't get up there, the mountain is too steep.

@HUYI1 Go to the town at the base of the mountain and search for the '7000 Steps' - thats the bath to High Hrothgar. There is also a man in the town who will pay you to take supplies up for him. The town is on the opposite side of the mountain to Whiterun.

@nextgenguru i found it, and found the priest praying on the floor, his name is einarth, here is how i did it for combat points, crouch behind him (make sure your sneak is very high) get out your weapon of choice press and hold the R1 button and do a sneak attack and then immediately hold down R1 for another sneak attack, after that stop until the eye in front of you closes and repeat the process till you level up.

DO NOT hit him when he stands up (that includes hitting him for a 3rd time) or he will go hostile and kill you in one hit, einarth, prays on the floor from 9am-12pm after that if you follow him he prays somewhere else.

You can get to level 35 before you escape helgen (the first mission)by hittin ralaf and sneaking overnight up againt a wall from the bear at the end of the cave....?? this way is toooo slow bro...good vid quality tho....OR BUY A HORSE put the difficulty on maximum and pound away or shoot magic at it...the horse never dies and never attacks you...

This strategy is easier and quicker if done against the old guys in High Hrothgar. When they are kneeling at the altars, just whack them with a power attack from behind while sneaking. They have lots more health and wont even get up! :-)

@scorpio6034 After finishing the main quest they appear to have buggered off somewhere. I'm hoping they shall return....

Also this guide is just a proof of concept - there are other NPCs who act the same. This is just the earliest one. The general rule of thumb is that if they are ABSOLUTELY necessary to the Main Quest, then you can do this trick on them.

When u run out of stamina, ur attack turns into a weak attack, thats why he attacked you.

You dont have to put a basket on his head. He cant die either, as long as its a heavy hit he wont attack (watch ur stamina). When he walks around its easy to sneak attack. Good vid, but you dont have to do all the work with the basket. Got my sneak 100 on him, working on other skills now.
