My favourite ps1 game of all time, i still play it now and never get bored! Although i could never figure out how the hell you could train a monster to rank A or higher?? Anyone know a secret way or something?
@deathborn2000 well its quite diferent, monster rancher focus on training the status of your monsters rather then levels, also you need to keep in check some invisible factors such as stress and fatigue that take away the life spawn of your monsters (yes they die each race lives a diferent amount, but you can freeze then before they die to use in multiplayer) so what i can say is this game is more about planing ahead rather then going there and keep fighting.

For instance, a monster you get may have low speed at first; but if it is trained well, it can become really fast. There are also sub breeds for each monster which you get by fusing two monsters into something new. It's a lot harder than Pokemon because you can't just keep a maxed monster forever; they'll die and you'll have to train a new one.

I barely played any DS games, but i played MR DS and pokemon pearl i believe, and pokemon is just boring, it's the same game over and over again, except that now i don't know where to go and where to find the HMs and stuff. Ah, oh and how I love how the days go on like normal, like suddenly the next day when you wake up, some weird shit is happening, like that time when a Centaur was attacking my ranch. The good ol times. Ahh.
How in the fucking hell have you managed to get to S rank? The best I've ever got to is B rank then my fucking monster died. It's so fucking complicated to raise a monster.

Aww, man... MR2 is so classic now, but it's still my favorite game. I've only recently gotten back into it so we'll see about actually having strong monsters now that I'm old enough to know how to raise them. (Haha.)

My first monster I ever had, was a Zuum. :] Then I got a Dragon/Hopper, and I mixed the two. So a Dragon/Zuum was my first monster. Named him Trap Ace. Those were the good days, playing video games that didn't comprehend to my 5 year old mind.
Nnng.. The key is you should always train your monster. If the training fails you have to reload it and try again. So you have to save your game every week. If your monster's stats has reached 700, it's a little difficult to alwayas succeed in training because the training get more intense. But if your monster loyalty is high, it won't be much a problem. During your monster prime time, each time your monster succeed in training (hard tarining), the stats can increase for around 20 point.
But of course it's depend on the monster specialty. If the monster majoring in pow so train the pow, if int so train the int. If the monster already over-the-hill and going to passed away, you can train your monster by battling and you will gain a random boost in stats too. If the stats boost doesn't match your favor then reload it.
It can be a little tedious but that is the key to have a strong mmonster.
I recommend to train a long life span monster, such as durahan, ape, kato, etc.
when i was younger, me and my friends would play this game and get really gay monsters and name them after each other, and when they died we laughed haha
i was more pissed off becuase i used to go to erannatry(or however you spell it) one time every 3 months 2nd time after it became a b class monster it died im like wtf!

i wont tell you my training method but try your best to raise your monster's age to 6years and ??months(dont exackly remember month)there will be a special cup(dont miss it,it only happens once per monster)and if you win,you will recieve a special item,feed it to your monster.then your monster will gain 6 months to 1year life span boost.
Ah, well a tip in MR4, There are 5 monsters called the Antlan Rangers(If you have heard of them, disregard this). They replace Mochi in that they are from MR4's disc.

men to have a metalner you just need to be rank 8th and you must have the second stable upgrade, and then sometimes in september a ufo will visit your ranch.

Gameshark can't max an individual stat can it? I thought it was all or nothing. Also it is very possible to get 999 stats on everything without a gameshark.

well tis isnt monster rancher 4 lol. MR 4 lets you have 4 monster at a time on your ranch, and there is a rank requirement for durahan. Thats why i said u need A rank...
I think you should personally use a Zuum. They are the most well rounded monsters period. They have a ton of techs to give them versatility.(they can be int or power) They also have a fairly long max lifespan of around 9.375 years.
how do you raised your dragon to the limits? almost hard to imagine considering how pathetic a dragon's lifespan can be!!! have you peached it 2 times?
its VERY hard to find. i ordered one from amazon a few days ago and recently recieved it. Im training a Fanged mask (tiger/gali) and a Gaia (Henger/Golem) then im going to hopefully combine them lol. That dragon shouldn't have had such low speed. He pretty much got manhandled. Also, he really wasn't too lucky and the Metalner just dodged some bullets

i wont tell you my training method but try your best to raise your monster's age to 6years and ??months(dont exackly remember month)there will be a special cup(dont miss it,it only happens once per monster)and if you win,you will recieve a special item,feed it to your monster.then your monster will gain 6 months to 1year life span boost.

Ah, well a tip in MR4, There are 5 monsters called the Antlan Rangers(If you have heard of them, disregard this). They replace Mochi in that they are from MR4's disc.

men to have a metalner you just need to be rank 8th and you must have the second stable upgrade, and then sometimes in september a ufo will visit your ranch.

Gameshark can't max an individual stat can it? I thought it was all or nothing. Also it is very possible to get 999 stats on everything without a gameshark.

golam you must be 4th rank and upgrade ur stable, and durahan u gotta find the sheath in parapare expedition and be A rank and get invited to the Double Edge tourny. go to monsterrancher . com for all ur info.

well tis isnt monster rancher 4 lol. MR 4 lets you have 4 monster at a time on your ranch, and there is a rank requirement for durahan. Thats why i said u need A rank...

I think you should personally use a Zuum. They are the most well rounded monsters period. They have a ton of techs to give them versatility.(they can be int or power) They also have a fairly long max lifespan of around 9.375 years.

its VERY hard to find. i ordered one from amazon a few days ago and recently recieved it. Im training a Fanged mask (tiger/gali) and a Gaia (Henger/Golem) then im going to hopefully combine them lol. If you guys know of any great MR2 sites (save for monsterrancher(dot)com) please let me know, im a HUGE fan (have been for over 7 years lol)
