This brings back so many great memories of my trip from L.A. to Hong Kong (15 hours!!) Loved the service, crew was beautiful, service amazing and the zen like inflight music was so peaceful as we flew into Hong Kong around 8pm with a beautiful sky tour of Hong Kong skyline. Can't wait to go again, using Cathay Pacific to get there.

Well, I flew FRA-HKG-FRA last month. That was my first CX flight after more than 6 years and I have to admit that I wasn't really impressed by CXs service. Plane was an pretty old A343, interior was rather worn out and outdated; food war terrible, cabin crew was unfriendly (especially on the HKG-FRA leg) Believe it or not: Last year I had a few flights with SU (yes, Aeroflot) and that was by far a better experience.

But nonetheless I really like CX, don't know for what reason.

NO!!!! LoooL. there are much better airlineslike Lufthansa and Air France and British Airways and Cathay Pacific and KLM. Emirates is only good cause they spent almost 3 times as much to make their cabins "UBERCOOL" and charge people more! trust me if they continue like this, they will go backrupt! ofcourse that wont happen since oil still hasnt run out ;-)

Depends if you are on a full flight.

If your flight is lightly loaded, then you can expect better, however airlines always maximize number of passengers because of moneywise.

I beg to differ. JAL is a fine airline and all that but Cathay is way ahead with PTVs haveing been introduced yrs ahead of that of JL. Everything equal, or for that matter, even slightly unequal, I'll go for CX. That's majority view as CX is flying to Tokyo 5 times a day now and JL is scaling bk to only 3 daily flights.
