i think that she is going to be with simone because she was smiling the entire time after reading the paper that said no charges were pressed on simone and shes on her way to meet her at her beach house and i hope that they make a LOVING ANNABELLE 2 were simone and annabelle are together and annabelle's first love{the one that moved to england}comes back and creates some drama by trying to break them up but in the end annabelle stays with simone.

after everything, this is the real ending..because katherine said that simone stayed free because annabelle's mother wanted the whole ordeal to stay discreet and they only asked simone a few questions then, let her go free. annabelle turned 18 in 15 days after they took simone away...so this is the final ending..both of them together.

This ending gives us the superficial hollywood romance we might want, but, ultimately, it comes out as being weak. The story's realism is shot to pieces by the premise that no charges would be filed against a teacher caught in bed with a minor (at a catholic school no less). Even though i want Annabelle and Simone to have their happy ending, this just didn't feel right. Very rarely, a movie touches a nerve, and it amazes me that a work of fantasy can have such a profound affect on my life.

Well, in some interviews or something they explain that the ending was supposed to be longer but they cut it due to budget, it was supposed to include annabelle's heartfelt talk with her mother the senator, who after really connecting with annabelle for the first time used her influence to get them to drop the charges, as long as annabelle promised not to see Simone untill her 18th birthday a few weeks later.

That type of ending makes sense because it was pretty clear that this was no cheap "fling" between the two characters. It's obvious that Annabelle is hopeful of rekindling her relationship with Simone...what is unclear is what transpired between this moment and Simone's arrest. Budget certainly played a role in what was fit into the film because it was very short, just over one hour.

If they'd had sex a few months later, she would have been an 'adult,' but i don't think she would have grown up significantly in that time. Relationships like this are very tricky and depend more on the maturity of the people involved than the age. I have no children, so i don't know how i would feel if it were my daughter, but i hope that i would be sympathetic to her heartache and understanding of her feelings for Simone.
