Ron Paul is good on many points, but fails on many too. Watching these debates makes it impossible not to feel that Newt Gingrich is by far the most intellectual candidate of either party to be in this position in many years. Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China for jobs. The same old lies. Ronald Regan ONLY raised taxes because he was FORCED by Democrats to raise taxes to get his cuts. It was supposed to be $3 in cuts for every $1 in new taxes. Therefore they see through all the empty promises spewed by the other candidates that go completely against their voting records. Ron Paul has actually stood for and voted for all the things he says for many many years. As much as I dont like Herman Cain,he handled Maria's question well about the sexual harrassment issue.And Romney also handled the follow up extremely well.It was a "gotcha question",and they both passed the test.I was especially impressed with Romneys statesman like way of handling that question.He could've easily made a cheap shot/underhanded compliment towards Cain,and he didnt.That was classy,and I think he got BIG points on the way he handled that.Romney is the best shot the Repubs have.

The only thing I agree with Michele Bachmanand all the Republicans on this stage is their desire to "Repeal Obamacare"---we can do better than that.We need to fix the health care system in this country,and "Obamacare" was just a giveaway to the insurance co's. Here's an idea:How about a health care system that rewards doctors that have HEALTHY patients,instead of the system we have now that profits off peoples chronic conditions and illnesses.

As usual, Gingrich got it wrong. It was not lower taxes that led to job growth in the 80s and 90s; the former was due to Reagan's defense spending (a government jobs program) and the latter was due to the dotcom bubble. If lower taxes was the answer to unemployment then why did we have 2 recessions under Bush II? Didn't he implement a $1.3 trillion tax cut. Where did all these jobs go?
