I am about to see her perform for the second time this year in a few weeks! I saw her w/ the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, which was just a few blocks from my house!
@scienceharris123 From what I've heard, Idina used to smoke pretty heavily. It damaged her voice a bit, hence the occasional breathiness. Thanks for watching! xx
Hi Daniella, it's Justin. You make the coolest documentary videos ever. But I have to say... where in the world do you get the time/money to see these shows? I mean, I would love to travel with Britney on tour and see her every day but that definitly wouldn't happen. =D
@JustinDearborn Haha, we've gone over this before! I never buy full priced tickets; I always manage to get a discount one way or another. I also very frequently happen to be in the right place at the right time, and walk into great opportunities. That's about it. Thanks for watching! xx
@MirandaAugust64 Dee Roscioli? I've seen her perform live as Elphaba. She's fabulous, but I really love Idina more. This is defintely not her best performance, I may be a bit biased, but I always love original cast the most :)
@wickedx716 well i just think that dee's voice is more powerful and her facial expressions r more intense and stuff wen she is Elphabla. it is kind of biased that u usually like the original cast better
@wickedx716 u did? i saw Dee too, and i saw Nicole Parker 2 times. both actresses were good, but i wanted to see idina. i agree taht original cast is always, better :D plz dont sue me for saying this!
In my opinion, Idina just doesn't have that magic touch on Defying Gravity. Everytime I would listen to her I'd always get goosebumps. Her performance just didnt do that for me here. But I still love her to death regardless. Great video Daniella :)
@wickedx716 When I saw her on tour (granted, this was quite a while back) she did it her style. I think she may have just been utilizing the fact that she could do the original arrangement with a huge orchestra behind her. But, ya never know. Thanks for watching! xx
@wickedchicago I saw it in March 2009. I just checked the tshirt the date on the shirt I am conveniently wearing :P She did it her album style as well. I was kind of hoping when I bought tickets, knowing there would be an orchestra, that she'd do the Wicked style of Defying Gravity! It seems my wish was granted :) Cameras were allowed this time?! Awesome! Last time they were really strict about that until the end of the concert :\
@wickedx716 Well, we were sitting on the very front most part of the lawn, and no one told me to stop filming. But I've been hearing if you were sitting in the actual seats, they got pretty strict.
@wickedchicago Darn.............. I am the first row of rear mez.... I won't even have heads to hide behind...... I made a sign though! I can hide behind that! Do you know if Idina eventually comes out after the concert?
@wickedx716 Depending on the concert, yes. When I saw her last time at Symphony Hall, she came out at the stage door. It was crazy, but she signed just about everyone's playbill.
@wickedchicago Hmmmm the thing with outdoor concerts: no stage door :P I really hope she comes and says hi to her fans! I am planning on staying. I'd love to meet her! Two questions: How long did it take for her to come out? and 2: Did she do any pictures? I better bring something to be signed.... just in case. I am crossing my fingers at this point
@wickedchicago I went on Friday also, and I had 3rd row aisle seats in section 2, so I was right next to the stage. I filmed 2 of her songs and nobody ever walked by and told me to put my camera away. But I don't know what it was like in other sections. Anyway, her performance was amazing. It was well worth the $75 even though she only sang 3 songs.
Love the video! I have a question though: how come she only sang three songs? for her previous concerts on her symphony tour, she sang more than that. was this concert different? I'm going to her concert in DC, and I'm hoping she'll perform more than three songs. thanks! :)
@chelsealong89 Glad you liked it! When I first saw her at Symphony Hall, (although I didn't post a video of it) she had essentially the entire second act to herself. However, at this show they had another special guest who had a very long number, that took up a lot of Idina's potential preformance space. Thanks for watching! xx
awh, you're so lucky you could take video outside the tent! I was inside, and only got about a minute and a half of "Life of the Party" before an employee came over to tell me I couldn't film it.

Does she have asthma? I have heard people say this and she coughed during the "me" at the end of defying gravity.
