This song was written by Tom Gray . .lead singer and synthesizer player for the Atlanta band. .The Brains back in the early '80s. I used to see the Brains all over the Atlanta club scene. .often opening for the B 52s. They were a great group and should have made it big. . Cyndi chose to record this song . .for which Tom remarked, "she paid off my mortgage and bought a couple of cars " by doing so. Ah, the power of a top hit. . royalties.

She was with a young girl I think it was her daughter. She was in the middle of filming the next season of celebrity apprentice. She said hello to me. At that time she was really busy. She had a bunch of people around her they wanted her to sing She Bop I think. I was cool seeing her in real life.

there is an oficial video for this song, which is that Concert footage you guys talk about, but that's the oficial anyway. The song came up in She's so Unusual record 1983, hit the charts in 1984 and was a multiplatinum, which means a millionaire record seller. Besides, this song even when was a hit ... ironically they never wanted to spend money on a studio video due to the lyrics and the concept, they didn't want to put money in a song which is "complaining" about how money can change people.
