  • Excellent vid! I appreciate the time you took to compare the differences.

  • i like how its not loud as fuck, but still sounds mean. i might copy this set up haha mines stock

  • man the growl on that exhaust...

  • Hey man sounds sick!! nice vid to. You should check mine out on my chanel! I got a 02 bugeye ;)

  • Nice video. I love the hawkeye models. I got an 05' WRX Limited. I have a bad 2nd to 3rd syncro that has been grinding. other than that i love the car.

  • This is the exhaust all should put on their subies. Tired of these damn 4'' cans.

Maybe its just cause I like oem+ but hey

    :P

  • Whoa he just let the beast out!

  • It's not an Sti.

  • sick gets me wanting one even more ur from the phoenix area

  • Wow. You did a damn good job with this video. Awesome!

  • wow, the car sounds great, plus this is a great exhaust video, giving multiple types of driving. some people just rev it as hard as they can, but this video shows cruising, normal, fast accelerating, etc. great job! great car!

  • Excelent example of how ALL exhaust videos are required to be. Sounds beastly!

  • dude is the insurance crazy on your wrx?

  • @Jc0nline no I'm old and the car is paid for :)

  • @dhunckyn your so lucky ahah. Safe Driving.

  • @Jc0nline before my wrx, I had a 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage...when I got the wrx, my insurance went down almost $10 a month for the exact same coverage. I am 24 and I am with Statefarm...needless to say, I was surprised. That's just my $0.02.

  • @youreanidiot23 really? That's awesome bro. Well I realized i need to get a lil older before I get my Subaru. (only 18) but thanks for you input really appreciated.

  • @Jc0nline It's only about 200 a month F/C for me. 20 YO with a loan

  • @Jc0nline

It all depends on what you consider crazy. I have a 2007 WRX tr and for full coverage (collision + comprehensive) from Gieco costs me $110/month or $660 every period. Thats at the age of 24 with a zero point driving record in utah. The exact same year of STI would have cost nearly double what I'm paying now at "what i call crazy" $205/month.

I'm running an Invidia divorced wastegate downpipe with a Cobb cat back. Pro-tuned stage two. 245whp, 281wtq, peak boost @ 17.5psi

  • stock sounds best

  • did u haf to get a cobb accessport wen u put the TBE on your rexx? or is it just better to have one

  • @appleapple4242

No you don't have to use the accessport but you should always get a tune. whether it's UTEC, Accessport, or opensource.

  • i want that last set up how much did you buy all that for

  • @painfull94 agreeddd

  • all exhaust videos should b like this..

  • Wow, you can really hear the turbo spool louder with just the downpipe. Sounds good

  • So this is the full COBB TBE with catted dp right?

  • Yup

  • Alright cool, thanks alot man. Looking to get a WRX or STi soon and want that aggresive boxer rumble like that without it being to loud or annoying, just something you notice and can hear coming down the street. Awesome car, sounds great. Thanks alot. Are you on stock suspension as well or coil overs?

  • Prodrive Springs and stock struts, better handling and ride over the stock springs

  • Ok cool, do they make your car sit lower at all or what?

  • about an inch lower, not much but noticable

  • Dam man, that sounds unbelievable!!! Mind telling me what exact COBB system you put on because im looking to get a WRX soon and I want it to sound great and I envy yours because thats a great sound?

  • very nice

  • what size tire width do you have?

  • stock was 215/45-17 then i went to 225/45-17, now i'm on 245/40-17

  • Hahaha ok have fun with your little tinker and btw i have a 06 cts-v

  • Wanna race for titles?

  • you do know a Legacy GT can take you down

  • No no, it's not the horsepower that matters, it's the power to weight ratio. The legacy is a much heavier car than the wrx, which just basically means that the WRX will win straight line or not, especially an STI.

  • This sounds amazing!!!!

  • Do you even own a car? Or do you rent one weekly?

  • SO stop hating. Dont be mad that this wrx and the sti version and the evo will go around a track faster than most a dem american cars are.

  • yeah ok sure. Maybe a lot of american cars but definatly not something like the cts-v or a zr1

  • good job at pointing out the obvious mr. car guy. a cts-v is above the 60k range and a Zr-1 is above the 100k range. sti and evo's are below 35k. so i really dunno what you are trying to compare.

  • Oh shut the hell up and quit acting like you know everything. Subaru's are so damn unique because of their engine and what all they can do: race, off-road, and look sexy as hell

  • I would put a new GTR up against a cts-v or a zr1 anyday, you never did mention your badass car btw. lol

  • Hahaha v4. Nice job trying to impress people dude.

  • Haha, thats really funny, because it's not a v4, or even a straight 4. Know what you are hating before you classify such a car with hondas, completely different car and type of driving. (sorry honda guys, just making a point)

  • I love the sound of the cobb catback. I just got one on my WRX like 1.5 months ago.

Mine's a 2006, Crystal Grey Metallic paint and no badges on the back besides the Subaru emblem, looks almost exactly like yours :-).

Keep posting vids of the ride man!

  • 3:07. You messed up twice shifting to 2nd gear. your car was bouncing pretty bad, you might want to work on your shifting or else your transmissions going to give out eventually if you keep driving it like that.

  • haha, that was a dip in the road, and it now has a tranny with PPG gears, but thanks for the concern

  • you're right man haha, im sorry! I just noticed the hump.

  • sounds amazing

  • jesus fuckin christ i want your car!!! awsome sounds dood

  • only subaru impreza wrx 2.0 .. not the impreza wrx sti 2.5 300hp

  • Actually its a 2.5 same as the STi just smaller turbo and TMIC

  • unless he gets a model before 2005 i think it is where the wrx was only 2.0 correct me if im wrong..

  • yea any wrx before 2005 was 2.0 then they moved to a 2.5

  • wat about the old 2.5 rs?

  • thats not a wrx. 2.5 rs was a NA. the wrx was a 2.0 turbocharged until 06 where they gave it the 2.5 with the turbo. i think the sti has always used the 2.5.

  • oh yea ur right, STI...my bad

  • sorry wrong question..

  • now that's an exhaust :)

  • i dont know about any one else that owns a wrx, but anyone find the injectors loud and annoying??...how can i get rid of it, i've tried injector cleaner, doesn't work?

  • i think you're hearing the lifters. its not the injectors. its normal.

  • what kind of boost gauge is that?

  • Your video is done exactly the way that I hoped someone would do it. Thanks so much for putting in the time and effort for such a well organized vid.

  • that exhaust probably voids warranty huh? But I still have to get it. It looks practically stock! (no tin-can look). Plus EXCELLENT ground clearance! =)

  • omg

  • Awesome video man! Getting my cobb TBE tomorrow installed by Tuesday afternoon absolutely can not wait! Especially after watching this video really good job showing us the differences.

  • I bet his neighbors must hate him

  • noob question, i know... but can someone please explain all these things to me??? first off, what is a downpipe, and a up pipe. What is a catback exhaust system and is there such thing as a non catback exhaust system?

someone please help me out! thanks

  • thats what google is for...

  • sure, the others wont answer because they dont know. a downpipe is the pipe leading down from the turbo to the catyalithic converter AKA "the cat". and up pipe it the pipe leading from the turbo to the intake. A catback exhaust is an exhaust system that starts behind the cat and runs to the bumper. the cat is an important emissions item and many cars wont pass inspection or emissions without it. And any other system that either removes the cat or just uses a muffler at the back wouldn't be a cat

  • actually the up pipe is the pipe that connect to the turbo exhaust housing and then to the manifold it has a precat inside of it. You replace it out because when you add power to the wrx there is a chance the precat can disintegrate and go through your turbine. It also is a little restricting. So there is a real desription of an up pipe kbent88. The pipe that leads from the turbo to the intake would be some genaric term like turbo inlet pipe...

  • MT BAD Mr. Expert...

  • dont worry about it...

  • Custom240sx is correct, the up pipe is the pipe that leads from the exhaust manifold to the hot side of the turbo (exhaust side). This spools the turbo then exits down your downpipe which connects to your cat back exhaust. The air intake connects to the turbo. From the turbo, a Y pipe runs to the intercooler. The air is cooled obviously, and then travels into the intake manifold at the top of the engine. The pressure can be relieved via bov, or recirc bypass valve - back into the intake.

  • Look for "wrx exhaust diagram" in google image search, you gonna find a nice diagram

  • u got a tight set up man how much did all that cost and is are those the on ly two mods u have installed in this video?

  • Wow, sounds too damn sexy!

  • i recently got me the same car just in silver mine was made jan 07 i LOVE IT! could not be happier!

  • thats a huge difference.nice

  • that thing needs a cam and a better exhaust

  • Is that a joke? I hope so.

  • second that swap it to something is good u spend all money on car and cant buy a nice exhaust i dont know man that sucks

  • the engine for 2004-2005 is a 2.5L also

  • only in the sti and rs. all 06+ have the 2.5 in all the cars.

  • what kind of boost gauge is that, brand?

  • NICE NICE

  • Sounds nice and stealthy with the dp only. My 06 is stock.

  • So what exhaust would you suggest?

  • Very nice video thanks for posting.

  • you are an idiot this car is awesome. Nice video man sounds awesome

  • what year is that WRX? and what are the specs on the engine and turbo system

  • 2006 WRX tr. Cobb stg2

  • Is it a 2.0 still?

  • noin 06 they went to 2.5l

  • datz gud shit but imo there too expensive

  • YEah but the price tag is high lol

  • Nah Subie switched the WRX to 2.5L in 2006

  • Watching video of your setup never gets old to me! Any other mods since then?

  • lots and lots. did a vf-39, FMIC, ppg tranny, several suspension upgrades; now waiting for my gt30r turbo kit.

  • Hey man, thanx for all the help tonight. You were right, it took a little while for the ecu to catch up. To me honest I was a little disappointed. Then on the way home some stupid Nissan was messing with me. I didn't even down shift and I blew his fricken doors off. I can't wait until I can afford the cat back system. Thanx again.

  • dude, this is a sik vid, Subaru's are totally the best cars

  • I would have went with something alittle more louder and more aggressive

  • Well I'm 35 yrs old and good looking so I don't need the attention haha.

  • bravo on a great video. very organized. this helps me to decide about cat-backs and downpipes. thanks

  • great video... thanks homie you just helped me decide what exhaust package to put on my new wrx

  • oh snap, my bad my comp kinda froze and i put 2 stars, 5 stars tho!

  • stock sounds the best

  • sound great

  • Thanks! if only everyone were so thorough in their testing and reviews...

  • GREAT exhaust video. Thanks for capturing all the differences in the sound.

  • Nicely done, this helps a lot for picking an exhaust. Thank you.

  • DAMN I LOVE THE DEEP SOUND WRX GIVE.

  • nice car :)

  • u can hear that turbo spool up soo well on ur wrx, i wish u could hear the turbo more on mine

  • i love my wrx too but damn you must be bored

  • So you just bought the Cobb TBE? The downpipe is part of a TBE exhaust right? just confused on why you put Cobb catted downpipe.

  • sounds nice

  • great video, sounds great.

  • Got the same set up on my 02rex. Great sound and performance. I couldnt be happier

  • jeez they sound good

  • nice video man. gotta' love teh soobys!

  • awesome video

  • i also have an 06 TR, if you don't mind me askin, did your wrx throw a CEL light after you installed?

thanks for the awesome vid man

  • No. I didn't didn't get any error codes

  • Did you put an Cobb Uppipe or you still have stock uppipe?

  • stock uppipe

  • did you do that all in one day?

  • no that was taken over a 2 week period or so

  • Great Video!

  • Great video it showed everything an exhaust video should.

  • does this include the CAT?

thank you for the review, the best, most helpful one yet!

  • is this with the CAT?

i totally love it. the best review i have ever seen. thank you so much! now i just need to buy my damn scoobie! haha

  • yes it has a cat

  • Yeah thats true. Good video man..thats how they all should be. Showing all the different sounds and stuff.

  • you could of gotten a turbo back MRT exhuats thats stock looking and sounds stock which outperformans all exhaust systems for the wrx.... dont be a ricer and get a loud exhaust just becuase of the boxer sound....

  • good to know. never heard the MRT exhaust but I don't think the Cobb sounds ricey or is loud. Actually it the quietest aftermarket exhaust the I have on the WRX

  • I can only find MRT for Mustangs/Cobras. wrxsteve, are you sure that they make MRT for WRXs/STIs? The Borla Hush is the best I have found for WRXs/STIs, but I also very much like the Cobb stage 2. Thanks for the great video, dhunckyn!

  • Thanks to your video I now have a full Cobb TBE installed on my '05 Saab 9-2x. Your video provides a better demonstration than Cobb's own sound clips.

  • Fuckin Subaru All the way thanx very much i know what type of car i am gettin now lol :)

  • lol?! thats my name ahahaha cool

  • This is how an exhaust review should be. Excellent :) !
