  • Great video by the way.

  • Only losers play with their thumbs.

  • That's just dumb.

  • @Carlosonebillion It's true. You can play faster with your fingers, just takes some muscle-building there. You can even use your pinky if you get it strong enough. It'll pay off in the end.

  • @ThePsychoMike I play with my fingers. I've been playing for 5 or so years. I guess if you mean playing ONLY with your thumb is gay sure, but I thought you meant at all. Not incorporating it is stupid. Thanks.

  • @Carlosonebillion That is what I meant. I use my thumb all the time for slap but I never use it to pluck each string individually. I even use it for double-thumb, but I see others make the mistake of resting with their fingers and plucking with their thumb. It's just poor playing, I think.

  • @ThePsychoMike its not about speed its about technique and style

  • @ThePsychoMike

    That's just fucking retarded.

  • @ThePsychoMike loltroll.

  • @ThePsychoMike i've been playing for 10 years... pick, thumb or fingers are just techniques... each one of them have a different sound, in fact... with your thumb you have more different ways to play so there's not a gay way to play the bass, it depends on your style and what you want to transmit with your music... anyway... thumbs up!

  • @ThePsychoMike It's called slap technique. Used to create a funky sound that you can't recreate with with regular finger strumming. When he flicks his fingers across the strings, that's called Flamenco. If losers play with their thumbs, then losers are much more aware about playing the bass as a whole.

  • @genericnameboi91 It's not worth discussing this anymore. Read what I've wrote already.

  • @ThePsychoMike Gotcha, sorry bro, kisses.

  • What does Bucket head think.

  • uve got skill but atleast get a mask so we can hear u

  • This video had me in fits, nice tips btw also.

  • Good info, stupid fucking schtick.

    Just teach, man.

  • sorry for having fun being a dumbass escaping my horrible realities.

  • good video i dont know why you dress up and talk like a fuckhead though but good video

  • Sweet.

    Thank for this.

My only suggestion is to talk then play, because sometimes its hard to hear what you say since you're popping and slapping and crazy shit on the bass.

    Nicely done though,

  • Nice work!

  • Very nice video. Any chance of making one for the awakening?

  • I would, but unfortunately I improvise like, the last 40 seconds of that song until the octave slap, so I couldn't be very accurate.

  • wait so people are saying that les changes how he plays a song every show? yeah that makes sense, you can learn it this way but its not the correct way.

  • There is a CD you know, not trying to be a prick.. but still this could be the CD way?

  • He doesnt drasticly change it

this is more like the album

    so it is right

    mostly

  • yeah. i mean, ive heard les play about 5 different versions of tommy the cat

  • thanks!

  • im subscribin cuz of dat

  • Oh, and btw, it sounds 100% right to me man!!

  • You kick ass at this song dude. But one thing, not about your playing though. You said "how does such a small thing matter". I hate to say it but it kinda does. The song was written a certain way, ya know. It kills me when people say things like (and I don't mean you dude) "this is one of the ways Les plays it" Wrong. Les wrote the shit, I'm sure he plays the licks the way he wrote them, improvisations not withstanding. Ya dig what I'm getting at?

  • Improvisings parts I don't know.......... *THUMBS UP!*

I don't even play bass and I loved this video. Keep popping, Unibrow Steve.

  • thats now how u play that... if u have the Fancy DVD u clearly see he is popping twice at the beginning

  • Honestly does such a small thing matter? This way's easier anyway.

  • And doing it at one show proves.. nothing.

  • unibrow steve is amazing!
