  • I saw ur pic and I thought it was me!....lol... I think Christianty (the true teachings of Christ) or the bible was completely contorted and tampered with and twisted to use to just control humanity. Religion is just created to supress humanity. Spirituality is different, and I think ur a little bullshitty and unhumble

  • @neptuniumforest You can't call me "bullshitty and unhumble" when you begin with saying "the true teachings of Christ" as if you spoke with him yourself. I have serious doubts Jesus even existed, but that's another issue. Anyway, just claiming spirituality is different doesn't make your point. Tell me why it's different.

  • the religion of materialism isn't on the list?

  • Fools reject what they see, not what they think, Wise reject what they think, not what they see.

    Huang Po

In Buddhism, rebirth empowers people, giving them control of their lives and the idea that they can rise above the misery they may have been born into. It does not say are people born in a miserable condition as punishment for past misdeeds, they are there as a result of their own actions, which means they can improve their situation by changing their actions, giving them hope.

  • Really? Christians don't talk about hell all the time, and the Bible even teaches us not to be smug, but to be gentile and kind with our evangelism. Any Christian who isn't hasn't read the Bible. You can't pass off a religion because you don't like the concept of morals and consequence. That would be like me saying I don't like the legal system because prison is stupid. Argument nulled.

  • @jsalverdachss Are you kidding me? Hell is almost ALL Christians talk about, even when there not. Example: Claiming you need Jesus to "SAVE" you. Save you from what? The unspoken alternative is hell. And "gentle with evangelism" seams like a slight oxymoron. To evangelize is to preach incessantly about your faith, until people convert. Nothing gentle about that. Also, what makes you think those that are aggressive haven't read the bible? The bible says a lot of things that would support them.

  • @bu1ckgnx You brought up hell, not me. And you have the whole idea of evangelism wrong, that's not what it is. Also, the Bible says to be gentle about it, so those who are aggressive obviously haven't read that part.

  • @jsalverdachss Yeah, I "brought up hell" IN MY VIDEO about how Christians are ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT HELL!!! And they probably did "read that part" (you think people like Westboro didn't read the bible cover to cover a million times?), they just interpret it different than you. After all, "evangelize gently" could mean don't use weapons, but screaming at people is OK.

  • @bu1ckgnx You brought it up on a false assumption. And maybe if you stopped yelling about creationists you'd sound a little bit more logical. Typical, seeing as how all atheists talk about is how "stupid" creationists are.

  • @jsalverdachss Creationists are stupid. That's why they're creationists. My assumption is only false if you ignore all the evidence of them going on and on about hell.

  • you have it screwed on... good stuff.

  • @Omnicron777 oh, snap ;-P

  • first off, youre arrogant for even saying that shit. i can tell that youre not well educated on this subject. youre obviously making fast judgements on different 'stereotypes' of religions. not all christians are the same and not all religious people are the same. youre only speaking of the people that you see on tv and the people that you have met on your life. so i dont think its fair for you to say that religions are arrogant when youre being arrogant yourself.. by the way, im 15 years old

  • Good points! check out "The God Delusion" series I'm posting. It offers many more reasons why religion sucks ass!

  • There all social constructs.

  • Well done. To have a secret insight to an omnipotent being, and as such believe oneself immortal is an insanly arrogant thing to believe.

  • I will not continue to comment on baseless and ignorant accusations. ht tp://ww w.acces stoin sight.o rg/ptf/ budd ha.html This is a link to the online Pali Canon texts that talk about the Buddha's birth and liife. Please find the section discussing his divinity and virgin birth. You won't be able to because it is a lie.

  • I am just gonna bow out here. I like a good debate, and being educated. This Vlogger wants to hate anyone who believes something other then Materialism. I am sure epicureans or utilitarians also make him angry. To anyone who watches this, please do your own research. Buddhists do not believe what he claims. I don't know if he is lying or just ignorant but what he is saying is untrue.

  • @MichaelnChristine You have to be able to prove your claims..

No religion can prove a WORD of their own doctrine, and what he is saying is pretty fucking true....Oh, and Buddha did claim divine origin, born from a slash in his mothers flank...

  • @badtrunk456 Lying isn't helpful. No where in the Pali Canon does the Buddha claim to be born in that way, nor does he claim divinity. He specifically says as a man he will die and that's that. None of this heaven nonsense. Please find the Sutta of the Pali Canon where you believe this claims is made, if you can I'll eat rocks. I can prove every claim I've made, not sure what claim you think is unprovable but this guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

  • It would be nice if you didn't combine outspoken opinion with rampant arrogance. Buddhism is really big on learning, and thought. It's a philosophy. The idea of no-self is hard for lay people to understand and might be more easily understood if you think no-self as such. Also Buddhism does not mean you are Hindu with a few tweaks. The Buddha acknowledged Hindu beliefs because thats the language people understood. The teaching of Buddhism are essentially atheist.

  • @MichaelnChristine it would be nice, but I'm not shooting for "nice." This is a smackdown!!! BTW, you think I'm a lay person??? You think I'm buying that "Buddhism is a philosophy, not a religion" BS? It still espouses supernatural beliefs and an immortal soul that reincarnates. That's enough to label it crazy and stupid, whether there's a self or not.

  • @bu1ckgnx See now you are digging yourself in even deeper. There is no soul, no self that continues. This is a meditative practice, it has no theology. If you knew as much as you think you'd know that. One of the fundamental teaching of Buddhism is that Samsara is an illusion. You are mistaken, whether you like it or not. I am a Buddhist and I do not believe in God, I don't worship anything and I don't think if I am bad I will become a Dog. LOL

  • @MichaelnChristine So, here's the problem w/ Buddhism. It claims that there is a cycle of rebirth (which is escaped by achieving Nirvana), but it ALSO says it's not the self/soul that is reborn. So what is? An energy you call Dharma? Can I measure that energy? Why should I believe it exists? Why should I care if it does? It's not me. Or is it me? Since it's all opposite contradicting beliefs with a moving goal post with no actual evidence, I opt to say FUCK BUDDHISM! It's all bullshit!

  • Calm down..sheesh. I can prove Dhamma exists. Hold the Pali Canon in your hand. There it is. It means Path or teaching. It isn't mystical in the least. Now you can "fuck" whatever you want but getting angry at me because you misunderstood Buddhism is just silly. It isn't opposite, it doesn't contradict, you just are misunderstanding, because you've never actually put time into learning about it. Feel free to hate me, but hate me for what I actually believe, not for something you made up.

  • @bu1ckgnx

To keep things simple: Buddhism does not deny that there is a self.

  • @bu1ckgnx On the soul "Again, the monk said, if you were to light one candle from another, does the flame transmigrate from candle to candle? The king replied that it did not. Just so, said the monk. A person doesn't transmigrate, but is reborn like the flame--neither the same nor different. We arise dependent on our causes and conditions. There is no soul that moves from life to life." Interdependent arising is not a spiritual belief but a fact of human interaction.,..

  • @bu1ckgnx Kamma, or as you'd say Karma, is cause and effect. It isn't supernatural. A soldier who lost his leg in a war asked a Monk "I am a good man, I am a Good Buddhist, why, why did this happen to me?" The monk's response was "You went to war. In war you shoot at them, they shoot at you. Sometimes you miss, sometimes they miss, sometimes they don't". That isn't supernatural, that's Kamma. Ain't it a bitch.

  • you are very right...Religion is Arrogant big time....I really hate hate hate all Religion...

  • You are free to hold any belief you choose. That has nothing to do with the fact that there is only one God. You are confusing 'religion' and 'God' - religion is man-made. I pity the people who are true atheists - to deny reality and complexity of the world around us is truly astounding. You really need to do some research, read some C.S. Lewis, etc...

  • @lastory2006 Fact? Where believe is translated with knowledge the madness starts.

  • I pity christians.

To waste their life on something that has never and STILL wont exist.

  • Good rant. ^_^

  • Thanks!

  • I think the GUY that did the video is a UESLESS person . Get a lif e . Religion is way to reach GOD what ever the name of the Religion ,Do you know of one river leading to the sea . YOU sir are an Imbacil ,you should not be born , because you have to know what to say, even though you know little of what you were talking .If you dont believe in anything how come you are alive.

  • Wow! I'm amazed at the arrogance of your comment. Way to prove my point.

  • Funny, you missed the religion that appears to be the most important to you, Atheistic Evolutionism. It would have been fair for you to share some of the bad things resulting from this religion too.

  • If that is a religion, I never heard of it till just now. Tell me, what is their holy text? What super natural beliefs do they hold? The title seems like it would be a very abnormal religion, what with the adjective proceeding Evolutionism, namely "Atheistic". Is there also Theistic Evolutionism? Can you sense my sarcastic, mocking tone? Are you going to troll my videos forever? Why don't you continue the conversation we were having on Micro/Macro evolution? What do those terms mean? Think.

  • Google it.

  • wow! Every link that comes up with the phrase "Atheistic Evolutionism" are religious sites (mostly Christian). Doesn't that seem a little strange that only theists think there is such a thing?

  • Comment removed

  • You have got to be kidding.

  • nope

  • "I know there's some good things religion does, but it's not worth the price and bad stuff"

If they're doing good things then... just let them ROFL?

The thing I do not get at all is...

What purpose do you have in saying that religious people are flawed? Only for satisfaction? I suggest doing something better with your life if you honestly believe what you stand up for, because as ironic as it is, you're wasting your precious minutes living in this world LOL.

  • no, it's YOU wasting your time on earth, devoting it to some bronze-age fairy tales.

  • Please, could you just stop talking. Period.

  • no. period.

  • I will elaborate my argument a little more. So all religion is a terrible misconception, Yes?. But what about athiest thought systems? Like Communism(Between 30-100 mio. dead. All depending on whter or not you count those who starved to death). Nazism(Minimum 12 mio. dead from camps alone), Fasicm(In Italy, Spain, Greece, Portugal and Bulgari. Atleast 3. mio. dead)- Atheism have caused as much if not more death than religion. Realise that cruelty is a part of human nature. Onallfronts

  • By the way I am not a christian but an agnostic. Its just like it pissis me off that atheists are so smung. Simply because they do not realise the destruction and suffering Atheism has caused. I mean: How can this guy critise anyone for beeing arrogant? He is the epitome of ignorant arrogant atheism. I would like to ask you: How do you feel about Hu-Jin-Tao accliamed athteist and ruler of china trying to destroy Tibethan monks: Because religion is evil, according to communist ideology?

  • What's more, the claim that atheism leads to violence, or religion leads to violence is a dodge. Whether true or false these claims do nothing to the validity of either belief or non-belief. The truth about nature, as many know from first hand experience, is that it is cold and unforgiving and brutal and random (you may argue that it's actually not random, but this misses the fact of its cruelty). But just because this may be a horribly depressing thing that many (if not all) wish were not so...

  • ...that doesn't make it any less true.

  • The numbers game is pointless. 1st, when people claim Nazi Germany was atheist, it makes a mockery of history. Hitler was an occult follower and had strong ties to the Vatican. His sick dream was to make the world into Germanic Pagans, w/ the Aryans being actually divine. That is a far cry from atheism, which rejects anything supernatural. 2nd, I'm not saying religion is the sole cause of violence, but it's easily hijacked for such horrible ends by evil people. Atheism was also hijacked by USSR.

  • besides the big three, jehovas witnesses, mormons, and scientologists all think they're better than everyone, but buddhists, pagans, and wiccans don't seem that arrogant in my experience.

  • free speech except for religious nutjobs

  • no. never said that. don't twist my words.

  • I never said you said that. that's what I said.

  • that's hypocrisy.

  • lol. I don't care what you call it. religion in itself is hypocrisy. it doesn't deserve to live alongside people who actually care about hypocrisy.

  • well, I think that, like scientific theories, religious beliefs should rise or fall based on how well they can make predictions. But since most (if not all) religions are untestable, they are unworthy of consideration by rational people. But to actually outlaw an idea, no matter how ridiculous, is fascist and wrong.

  • I don't want to outlaw ideas, I want to hold people accountable who refuse to even consider an alternate argument to religion.

  • ok, sounds fine.

  • dude. who the hell are you to judge my ideas. you're arrogant yourself. forget I commented ur vids

  • wow! You're reading way too much into my last post. Please seek out psychiatric help.

  • toolbag

  • douchebag

  • tool + douchebag = toolbag. I already got you.

  • what is your problem. Get a life.

  • Comment removed

  • you look like a Waldo-ass criminal.

  • it's the Hamburgler of Aggrabah.

  • evidence that you have no life. See your last 4 dumb posts that you worked on all day.

  • Great video! Yes, religion......talk about a narcisistic and self-indulging, childish sense of ENTITLEMENT.

    And to claim MORALITY?

  • nice video, jedi is pretty fucked up

  • Yeah, all that "force" stuff is BULLSHIT!

  • yeh but the sword fighting thing is sort of fun oh and the camp clothes if you have any theatrical leanings

  • Nice Vid!

  • good, but let me also mention jehova witnesses, who always thinks they are some kind of special redefined true brand of christianity LOL shit. Every single one I know its the definition of arrogant. Plus they also come to your door with that disgusting fake smile, not only that, they freaking force their kids to talk or distribute their delusional BS!!

  • and they believe that only a very unique, select few of them (leaving out many many of their other good fellow and sister followers) will be allowed into heaven. It's a hierarchy, and only a few thousand, I think!

When one person believes a delusion we call it insanity, but when many people beleives a delusion we call it relgion. Robert Persig

  • haha totally! i think its like 144000. of them? i might be wayy off, but its crazy. And if you ask them, how do this people know that they been chosen, they said 'because they had a dream'...rightttt... i also had a dream the other night i was the god 'thor' and you dont see me running around thinking im special haha. PS- i love your quote.

  • What kind of ignorant, servile bigots dare to tell us that we have to submit to their "allah"? How dare they presume to be able to tell us how to live! How dare they presume to "punish" us for not being the subserviant, mindless morons that they tell us to be! Free your mind - NO RESPECT FOR ISLAM!

  • I liked it for the most part, but the criticism of hinduism is not picked correctly in my opinion.caste system doesnt keep the poor poor. It is the hypocracy of the system and the upper caste have linked it to the religion to exploit the poor. Hinduism defines the caste but does not rank them.

None of these religions were meant to apply to the modern world. These were some stupid set of rules defined by some self righteous scholars from each civilization to exploit the majority dumb civilians

  • On your last selection, the pick and choose part isn't what's annoying in my opinion. It's how they decide that EVERYTHING is based on "their" religion even though they were just reading web pages in their mom's basement deciding one for themselves 10 minutes ago. Not to mention how they always feel that everyone persecutes them for being Wiccan/etc. just because we don't lick their assholes about it at every opportunity.

  • VERY true. I wish I thought of that when I was making the video.

  • My name is Mohammed i care not if anyone knows my name. FIRST and foremost i'm an AMERICAN, i have served in desert storm, i strongly urge all AMERICANS to prepare for WAR should this law pass. i will not let what our forefathers fought and died for be in vain, i would lay down my life yet again(this time more urgent and more in defense to our country than ever) so that my family and yours can speak freely as they wish. i strongly urge all americans to stand now!!! There's my JOHN HANCOCK!!!

  • table is angry.

    Blue insensitive.

    window is dissappointed.

  • What the heck are you talking about?

  • His table and window apparently became self-aware when Skynet got loose. Blue must be their collective names.

  • "Claiming all religions are arrogant and stupid that statement seems arrogant itself." (see comments above).

For the rest of all the "purpose" religion has filled, again, I don't think it's worth the price of all the bad things it causes.

  • And "e" a small mistake I accept.

I didnt say the castE system didnt exist before UK colonised India, what I meant was UK turned it into the system we know today. They used divide and rule to control the people. By doing so they re-interpretated some scripters the result after 200 years (apx) of colonized rule is the caste system we know today.

If there are gods in Buddhism is as disputed among religious researchers as there is a dispute if evolution is correct among scientists. Not much;)

  • About purpose I could talk (in this case write) for hours instead I will do something much more useful recommend some books.

Read Richard Sosis and Pascal Boyer.

Both honourable professors who have much more knowledge about this subject that I have. Any doubt if they're trustworthy you are welcome do to all the background check you want!

If your best pull is to discredit me for misspelling words you're in bad sharp, you can do better:)

  • The spelling correction was just that: a correction. I don't have any delusions that THAT would discredit you. But I want to point out that my beef w/ the caste system wasn't so much that it was used to keep poor people down but more against the idea that "you're life sucks because you did something naughty in a past life." THAT is the real problem w/ the belief, and THAT is what is arrogant about the religion. I'll check out those guys after I finish Brian Greene and Stephen Jay Gould's books.

  • I would not say that is arrogant, if a man can find peace by knowing I have to work hard my whole life when I die I'll get my reward (if somebody is going to suffer for misbehaving, then good behaving will be rewarded)

That is the whole idea (not behind religions) behind the idea of modern democracy, bad guys will be punished. What it the different of wanting a villain to suffer alive and wants him to suffer when he is death? Both of them are based upon emotionel feelings of revenge.

  • I also don't believe in the prison system being used for vengeance. We should work to rehabilitate criminals. "Lock 'em up and throw away the key" doesn't work. So, again, the good feeling someone gets from punishing a murder is outweighed by the deterioration of society through overcrowded prisons and increased crime rate.

  • Then the thing is if you would have made the same expression after your child has been raped. I dont know! One thing is what we say an entire different thing is what we do. Humans are more irrational than most of us realize. We are just apes with big brains to say it roughly.

Punisment isnt the same of locking people up but the victim/s must feel justice has been served if not the system will break and turn into lynching (read Daily Graphic, Wednesday Jan 10th 2007, pg 28)

  • I'm not saying the convicts should be set free. But strictly incarcerating without rehabilitation creates more violent offenders. Helping the criminal is counter-intuitive, but necessary to keep or society safe.

  • And I didnt say the last part was not a necessary to keep prisoners away from returning to their previous "duties" ;)

  • it works for some people

    like paedophiles and rapists

  • Claiming all religions are arrogant and stupid that statement seems arrogant itself. If religions were stupid and arrogant then they wouldnt have survived a timespan of more than 25000 years. Religions have fulfilled a purpose and denying that is arrogant.

By using frazes like those you put yourself in a postion like the Tertulian.

(India and the castsystem, start blaming UK, Buddhism have gods!)

Before critizing a religion do your research!

From an atheist who study religion

  • BTW, the caste system (that's right, it's spelled with an 'e') was in place LONG before Britain landed on India. The British Empire just exploited it to keep control.

And Buddhism having gods is disputable.

  • Religion can be use in many ways therefore you can't say that religions are in general arrogant. Religion can cause criminals to stop doing their crimes, can also stop men from hitting their wives, and if you are the Priest you may get a lot of money.

Also I do agree that they shouldn't try to engrave their words in our brain.

I hate the Mormons that try to make me believe that Jews lived in the U.S.A many years ago and fight against the native Americans. All that is bullshit.

  • I wasn't commenting on what individuals do as much as what they believe. What they believe makes them arrogant. Besides that, religion can make good people do horrible things. I should make a video on examples of this.

  • if you are only going to see the bad effects of religion then you are an arrogant bigot.

  • I see the good stuff too. I just think it's not worth the price of the bad stuff.

  • And I'm bigoted against a belief system??? How does THAT work? My video was a rip on all the arrogance of religion. If I come off as arrogant, then it's only because that shit makes me mad.

  • this video is incredibly arrogant

  • Maybe, but it's not nearly as arrogant as religion.

  • yeah all equally bad; funny how one person experiences Allah and then another sees Jesus in a bowl of cereal; both claim to be right hahaha

  • Yep religion is dumb.

  • it sure is.
