  • lol which bible have you been reading? jesus talked more about the torments of hell than he did heaven. i kinda think everyone knows this

  • @alexavasquez1992 I think everyone that doesent look into the matter and just takes someones word about it, sees it as you do. The word hell didn't neven exist until around the year 500. The word was used in the old english to describe the unseen or the grave. Jesus used the word Gehenna 11 times and warned the nation of Israel about ending up there. Jesus never spoke of torments in the afterlife. so lol all you want and prove yourself worthy of your rewards.

  • @huckster271 Matthew 13: 42, 49-50 Matthew 23: 33, 25:41 Mark 9:43 Luke 16:23 -24 James 3:6 Revelation 14:10-11 Revelation 20:15 , 21:8 okay so maybe you don't believe that Jesus used the word 'hell', but the Bible is quite clear about a place where there is 'everlasting fire' and 'torment', where people end up who haven't repented and believed (john 3:16). The bible is quite clear that Jesus had to die a terrible death in order to save humanity from such a place.

  • @alexavasquez1992 sorry but no

  • the only way to heaven is through faith in jesus. this is clearly stated in the bible. so what about the people who dont have faith in jesus? surely they dont get into heaven too?

  • @lpreams 1 Timothy 4:10 (King James Version) 10For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

  • @huckster271 John 3:36 (KJV) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

1 John 5:11-12 (KJV)And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

  • @lpreams Excuse me, that second verse (1 John 5:11-12) is actually: And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

  • @lpreams so are you saying you get eternal torments in fire forever out of those verses?

  • @huckster271 if my faith is not in Jesus, then yes, that's exactly what I'm saying.

  • @huckster271 Revelation 19:20-21(NIV) But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

  • @lpreams and this all depends on what or who the beast is, who the false prophets were, and the symbolism of the lake of fire. Watch more of my videos and learn. Good luck on your journey

  • Yeah, God is pure mercy! Nice huckster :-)

  • The idea of "Hell" has absolutely nothing to recommend it. There is no logic, or warmth, in the idea. The idea destroys all love of God - more effectively than anything else (if accepted). Jesus came with a better understanding of God than any before him. He knew that God deserved to be called "Abba" (Daddy). And he knew that others needed to see God this way too, in order to repent effectively. And to top it all off, the idea is foreign to the bible - the wicked disappear, and are not tortured.

  • I wish the doctrine of Hell was not true. I ama ware of the mistranslations of it but My Mind refuses to believe it. I certinly want no part of this God! Chrsitianity is no more than problem Reaction Solution

  • @virtuallad06 Hell is symbolic only..mercy is mercy, and its sweet indeed :-) Mercy is not conditional virtual...there is nothing conditional about it!

Its actually makes me sick when I think about the depths of his mercy towards us...sick in a good way that is..

  • If I believe there is a hell and dont warn people now and then, that would be dishonest.

Jesus isnt seen in the bible always as gentle and soft either.

However Im not Jesus, I can not judge peoples destiny.

I recognize I told a guy this is what I believe as long as his goal is to turn people from Christ. This is an active proclaiming atheist. Thats his choice.

Do you believe in universalism? I understand the concept, but thats about it.

I still have a rough time understanding pretorist views

  • @RedSmoky YOU SAID "If I believe there is a hell and dont warn people now and then, that would be dishonest.'

And be not afraid of them that kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna)

Jesus spoke of Gehenna consistently with imminent national judgment on Israel. The whole body of a Jew would be cast into the imminent fiery national judgment of which John spoke. Universalist? Preterist? no Christian? yes

  • @huckster271 If you instill in a child a teaching of a hell that goes against Gods word and that child struggles with fear of something UNREAL, where does that put you in standing with God? I have heard so many say well if hell is not real then I have lost nothing. Favor from God maybe. People who believe in the concept of hell are selfish. They think that they themselves, with their awesome free will choice, chose heaven, and others who don't make that same choice roast in hell.

  • @huckster271 Most people who are sensitive and who love others realize that if God asks us to love and forgive but then throws people into eternal torment, He can't be very loving or very good Himself. And so then the next step is believing that this God that they hear about isn't real.

  • @huckster271 how can a person really truly love Jesus Christ, and then think that He is the author of eternal torment. Forgive me for my angry tone, but I think that is what some of us should do. We should get angry about this and tell people out there the truth. If we don't do this, who will? Maybe we might get laughed at or maybe we might get shunned. Who cares? I tell everyone, from children to adults, that there is no hell, and I don't care what they think of me.
