  • Listen close and you'll hear a groan when Michael Bay is named.

  • its funny that robert is in the new DLC for Black Ops.

  • I refuse to watch the remake. Freddie is not Freddie without Robert Englund. If he is sick of playing the character, then the movie doesn't get made. This is just greedy hollywood wanting money by putting a new face in the mix so they don't care how much its ruined. We don't need a remake of the first one. You are not gonna remake the Godfather are you just because we got better film equipment right?

  • without robert, its not freddy :/ sigh..........

  • I mean , sure Fred was born mentally disturbed but I HIGHLY DOUBT he woulda ended up AS BAD as he became if he WASN`T surrounded by DYSFUNCTIONAL , INSENSITIVE INBRED MORONS !

  • the dude who replaced Freddy is a really cool actor hes good at playing a freaky guy. Of course Robert will always be Freddy but Jackie(its jackie right?) is cool, even if he doesn't really have a nose in the movie

  • 1:08 chicky walks away... how could you do such a thing! I do not care if i had to piss my brains out! You are in the presense of Freddy!!!

  • Never saw the remake and never will, but it turned out to be a flop. Served it right.

  • @BlackToothGrin1966

actually it made it's money and was number one movie in america for like two weeks it did really well in foreign nations too plus the dvd sales but it way over the map as for as money expectations go

  • @pillowpantsforlife2 Not from what I heard. Those sales were a quick come and go.

  • too bad the new movie rated at 13% at rottentomatoes, and it sucked in comparison to the original. Quick work, and not a lot of thought put into it. Bay ruined, it and should have let the series alone. They didn't even bother to have Robert in the film in any fashion, and I am glad for that now.

  • @bigcat2010 Nor Robert...that's because he wanted nothing to do with another film. JEH did a great job in giving Freddy the jump from comical killer to twisted psycho who actually looks like a burn victim.

  • @kamranos Once again..your information on Robert is WRONG. And burn victim? Um Fred krueger was BURNED ALIVE. He didnt go to the hospital, get skin graphs, and feel all better!

  • @kamranos I sat in this room at DCON 2008, and he said he would have been open to it at the time, but he wasn't asked. Unless in later interviews he said differently.

  • @kamranos

Your information is wrong. Robert Barton Englund was never asked to be Fred Krueger. I never expected him to be asked....since it is a completely different series...but he was not asked. Nancy Englund runs Robert's Facebook page("Robert Barton Englund"). I messaged her about whether or not Robert had been asked. She said he was never asked(he never expected to be asked) but he certainly did not turn down the role.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt He may not have turned down The Role but he has said " I`m getting older and I probably won`t be able to pull off the stunts the way I used to , Freddy vs . Jason took a lot out of me " .

  • He had high hopes, but we all know it was crap....so.... now he can kinda laugh about it.... even the worst old Freddy films probably surpass the remake and they didn't have the glossy budget.

  • I am so sick of these Hollywood douches remaking perfectly fine amazing horror classics and ruining them just because they're too lazy to think of their own ideas. LEAVE THE CLASSICS ALONE!!!

PS I love Robert Englund :)

  • I miss him my fredddy guy I wish rabert would play him

  • Michael Bay fucked it up...again.

  • @tommynicks it aint that surprising he already fucked up the chainsaw massacre and friday the 13th

  • Very few times have remakes out done the originals. I went to watch the new version of Nightmare on Elm street and I was not pleased. No one can ever play Freddy like Robert Englund can. He will always be my Freddy!!!

  • The original Nightmare is a Masterpiece. It's dark and scary and Krueger is a real monster in that movie. I think it is the scariest movie I have ever seen, only other could be The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(74). The remake trailers I have seen don't look scary at all.

  • Come on Robert..You know you wanna put the glove back on and stab that imposter

  • How dare those assholes get up and leave while Robert Englund is speaking!!!!!

  • Robert Englund is unreplacable. Boycot any other Freddy!

  • I think it's great that Robert Englund has taken it so well, it really speaks to his character.

  • Anbody Can Play Jason Voorheese Because There Is No Talking Involved, But There Is One Voice For Freddy Krueger!!! That Voice Is The Voice Of Robert Englund!!!

  • I could listen to Robert talk about Freddy all day.

  • BayFormers Sucked.

I hope this film will be good.

  • you have to give jackie a chance

  • Ladies and gents, I think we should give it a chance, look how many diffrent people played Dracula, Frankenstien, and other horror greats. Even Englund played the phantom of the Opera in a remake. We are just in the next step of horror Icon evolution. Bella Legosi cant be compared to Christopher lee as Dracula, both had their own take. For a remake of this movie they got the right guy.

  • @THURISAZRAGE Yes but none of those characters were played 7 times in a row by the same actor. Heck none of them even hit 3 times in a row.

    Not a good analogy.

  • im glad robert englund is ok with them remaking it. now everyone can shut the fuck up and stop complaining about it!!! everyone is acting like robert englund is the greatets thing ever! if he is ok with the remake, should all you people be ok with it too!!!???!?!

  • (cont'd) Digitally remastering the original and heavy promotion of the original would cost less money and introduce a new generation to the classic. People are told to buy coke, Pepsi, a presidential candidate, or a politician, every day/year. Promotion works. The original does not look dated. It's timeless. And if people are told "go see it" (just like the people who obey anything Michael Bay gives the OK to.....) they'll go.

  • Of course someone like myself who observes and questions things and thinks outside of the box and doesn't suck the dick of every producer who shoves 100 remakes down my throat----of course because I don't do these things, people label me "close-minded". Sorry, I don't follow the herd of sheep. It's one thing to have an INFLUENCE ie" 28 Days Later" obvious George Romero influence, or "Avatar" from Dances W/ Wolves and Princess Mononoke...but to TOTALLY rip Wes Craven's genius!? FAIL.

  • crap i meen horror i know my spelling sucks

  • I think what they're doing in the remake is having Freddy seeking vengeance on the kids(who are now older) who perhaps accused him of being a killer

  • everyone who just is saying that remakes is gonig to be great when the movie isnt even out yet are stupid, but all the fanboys of the old that bitch, are retarded.

  • i agree that was fucked up...he should of been included....but he didnt even hear about it.... ungrateful new directors....thier probably suckin micheal bays dick right now

  • Ministerx- me too (:

  • overload on cgi= fail..

lack of practical visual and audio fx= fail

loading film with irritating teenybopper well-knowns= fail

bad score and no elm street theme/s used= fail

  • I hate seeing the people get up and leave. It's so goddamn rude stand and leave during a Q&A session like that.

  • I'm optimistic about it. I love the original and hope that we get some new blood and ideas that really scare the pants off us. Though I love Freddy as the funny Freddy he turns into, the first certainly has a place in my heart and I hope to see that dark side of his character again.

If Englund is willing to give it a try then so am I. A cameo from him would be nice though...

  • No Robert Englund=Epic Fail

    Michael Bay=Even Worse

  • Alright, here's what I have to say about everyone talking shit on this remake: if you have a problem with it, don't fucking watch the damn thing. Problem solved. I'm a hardcore nightmare fan too, and I'm willing to see some change. Robert Englund really IS the best Freddy. He's also the only Freddy. No one else has been given the chance to take the role. If Robert himself is willing to allow someone else to take his place, then surely he has faith in this remake. So chill guys. Don't stroke out.

  • micheal bay = FAIL

    no robert englund = FAIL

  • This is bullshit. Remaking is one thing, but replacing Freddy? Robert Englund is and will forever be Freddy.

  • @BlackToothGrin1966 i agree, but Jackie Earl Haley was pretty good.

  • @BlackToothGrin1966

Yes Englund is the original Freddy, but after you see the new nightmare, they cast it perfectly. Englund was never as dark as this new one.

  • @kamranos In the original he was so much more evil than JEH

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Did you even see the movie???? original Freddy was a cupcake compared to this twisted version of him. original freddy played jokes to kill them and towards the end of the series was simply comical, this film brought the darkness back. Not to mention Robert Englund wanted nothing to do with another freddy movie. I respect your opinion, the new version might not be better in your eyes, but the Freddy they portray is far more evil and twisted.

  • @kamranos Yes I did...3 times. And please...the original Freddy had FUN when he tortured his victims...he could have killed them right off the bat but he decided to have fun with them. And in the first 2 "Nightmares" Krueger did not make jokes. And I believe you have your stories wrong. According to several sources Robert would have LOVED to have been Freddy again if they would have asked him. PD lied.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt " I consider the original version of Nightmare on Elm Street a classic of this genre, but I think there is always room for new interpretations by using the new tecnology. In the past, they were talking about a prequel. Anyway, I'm too old for this new version, otherwise it would be Freddie vs. Viagra.." Robert Englund.

  • First off it's "FreddY"...secondly. I also heard different information. I shall message you about it.

  • @kamranos That was before he saw the finished product. I'm sure he, like a lot of us, were shocked at just how much they DID drop the ball with the effects. Craven's shoestring 1984 budget looked TEN TIMES more effective than this multi-million dollar CGI shit. Some of these scenes were complete recreations from the original and looked horrible. Kris' death compared to Tina's....no contest. Freddy coming through the wall and looking at Nancy. No contest... Remake failed on every level.

  • @kamranos And truthfully....to put this in the simplest terms...evil is MWAHAHA (which was original Freddy...he was a child molester AND a child killer). JEH's Freddy is more GRRRRRRAGH! And twisted? No. The original was. He would torture you and use your fears against you. He had FUN with what he did AND he didnt want to turn back time. JEH's Freddy was obvious about being out for revenge. But he was just a typical horror slasher. Nothing great about him.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Jackie Earle Haley`s Freddy didn`t care about turning back time , he was out for revenge initially but like Robert`s Freddy it`s clear as time goes on he slowly begins to get a perverse pleasure out of stalking , torturing and killing his victims in increasingly inventive ways ! But , he was twisted before the burns and that`s why he was burnt ! Jackie`s Freddy starts out as A Child Molester , becomes A Child Killer after the burns and becomes more evil as time goes on !

  • @1993MovieMan

Were we watching the same movie? Because I clearly saw him ask Jesse "Do you think you can turn back time?" and yell at Nancy saying "LOOK AT ME! Look what you did to me." He clearly does not like his dream self. And Rob's Freddy was always perverse when it came to killing...that's why he did it before he died. And ur whole....reasoning for the burns....makes no sense. And honestly, a weak gardening pedophile turning into a killer is quite out of the blue, honestly.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Well naturally , anybody who`d been hideously burnt would have self-esteem issues ! The Remake establishes that Fred Krueger was an otherwise decent guy with a disease ! Pedophilia IS a mental disorder ! If someone had just empathized with poor Fred and gotten him a decent shrink instead of burning him alive , he wouldn`t have become such a monster ! He ONLY became a murderer after his bitterness over that injustice twisted his mind EVEN further !

  • @1993MovieMan The thing with Fred Krueger(at least as first intended) was that he was sick to begin with. He thrives on the fear of children(how disturbing) which is why once the Elm Street children die...he continues killing. Fred has always been mentally disturbed. And the remake does not establish that Fred Krueger was a decent guy...it established that he was guilty! Based upon my observances, I see Fred as a man who took advantage of innocence. As he's always done.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Guilty DOES NOT mean inherently evil ! As I said , Pedophilia IS a disease so burning Fred alive WAS a bit unfair ! I think he genuinely cared about the kids ! He just couldn`t control himself ! Remake Fred was basically a man with a disease ! Why is it that if a rich , famous person`s a pedophile like Michael Jackson , people make excuses for him if not OUTRIGHT deny it BUT if an average , working-class guy like Fred`s a pedophile , he`s the scum o` the earth ?!?!?

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Yes , Fred DID take advantage of innocence ! That`s what pedophiles do ! They CAN`T help themselves ! And yes , Fred WAS mentally disturbed ! EXACTLY my point ! You take a mentally disturbed person to therapy ! You DO NOT burn him alive as that ONLY makes it WORSE ! Oh but those DUMBASS , INBRED PARENTS DIDN`T give a damn , DID THEY ?!?!?

  • @1993MovieMan Sometimes....it isn't as easy as therapy. But the parents didn't want to have their kids up on the stands telling an entire room what happened to them.In the original, Freddy was let loose because "someone forgot to set the search warrants in the right place". In cases such as that, it makes you wonder if vigilante justice should be used against men like Fred Krueger. I wouldn't want that sort of blood on my hands but sometimes things need to be done.

  • @NancyThompsonOfElmSt Believe it or not , Fred Krueger`s got A LOT of fangirls who see him as A Tragic Villain who was twisted by society`s cruelty ! And having seen " Freddy`s Dead " and parts of The Remake , I see where they`re comin` from !

  • @1993MovieMan

Oh I know those fan girls(dude I'm all over this ANOES stuff)....most of them are into the idea of sappy love-ridden Krueger too. Fred Krueger was NOT twisted by society. They're making wrong assumptions. He's a twisted evil man. Just like Craven intended(you'll learn all about it from Never Sleep Again)....then again, I'm talking about the bastard son of 100 maniacs that Robert Englund played, not the gardener of a preschool as portrayed by Jackie Earle Haley.

  • @1993MovieMan Really? maybe that's why i didn't like those movies...I more used to Freddy with DARK humor and a B.A. villain...

  • @kamranos couldn't have put it better myself. JEH made one hell of a twisted Freddy.

  • if Robert Englund is ok abuot the remake mayb it is worth a wach

  • @soulcrusherest well robert do not sound very happy in this clip about not playing freddy..he saying positive things, but he doesn't sound happy about it..lol

  • @soulcrusherest yeah, I'M certainly going. And Robert has praised the fuck out of Jackie saying how perfect he is for it, as if he's personally handing down the razor glove to Jackie

  • How many times can one do Hamlet. We haven't improved the wheel. Robert Englund took my innocence and Wes Craven took my virginity. Original rule and remakes drool.

  • i thought he didint want to i didint know they never told him that fucked up to me hes always gonna be freddy krugger to me.....

  • Robert is real freddy no1 can take that place from him...and why dont ask they robert to play???

chris johson arent like it... im so angry at thaht shit

  • I hear it's because he doesn't want to do Freddy anymore

  • no robert no remake

  • No,no this will suck. It's Bay for Gods sake. Every thing he puts his hands on is shit.

  • agreed! and he's planning a sequel to both nighmare and friday the 13th. BULLCRAP!

  • that doesn't make any sense. when they changed freddy's persona, there were no wes craven remakes. so why would he give up complaining for that reason? and just because you dislike the halloween remake, doesn't make you any more or less a "true" horror fan. all i watch are horror movies, but i disagree with you. in fact, i like the halloween remake even more than the original, because there was more "michael time" in it.

  • i agree with joemike15.

just cause its a remake, doesn't mean its going to suck. The Fly remake, with Jeff Goldbloom was GREAT. the hill's have eyes remake was good, the halloween remake was good, and the batman remake & its sequel were AMAZING. and why would wes craven be pissed about the remake? he didn't complain when new line transeformed his terrifying freddy into wise cracking "why do i even have claws? i never use'em" freddy.

  • Because everything Wes Craven does is being remade, so he gave up complaining. Then he makes shit like They and Cursed, because no one will dare rip those off. His classics are being tampered with.

And any TRUE horror fan will agree with me, the remake of Halloween SUCKED!

  • I agree!

  • HAven't seen halloween, but like Rob Zombie's other stuff , but the reason that the rest of craven's remakes haven't totally blown is becuase he was a consultant on all of them. He asked to be a consultant on the nightmare remake and Platinum Dunes(Michael Bay) refused. Which is why, I suspect, that Robert Englund decided not ot do the cameo role.

  • I'm glad to see Robert is positive about this. That means a lot to me as a fan and holds out a fine hope. I'm really looking forward to this one. :)

  • I'm glad he's positive about the remake,.. it means he has done something right.

  • Nightmare on Elm Street DVD Collection available on our channel

  • (cont'd) All they have to do is remaster and re-release the original print with heavy advertising campaign. I'm sure the adults will see it for nostalgia and kids will see it, also. Freddy is not a non-speaking, mask-wearing character. Freddy talked, had Robert's persona and he grew on me.

  • I'm so sick of sheep. "They made a new computer implant chip, I'll get it". "They made a new soft drink, I'll drink it" "I know the music is crap, but it'll grow on you". This is why these lame-ass, no ideas-no creativity producers keep resurrecting shit from someone else's genius. To me, this is just as sacreligious as when Ginuwine remade Prince's "When Doves Cry". I wanted to shoot him. CREATE YOUR OWN IDEAS!! As an artist, I HATE this new era. Everything SUCKS.

  • I could hug you for the reply you stated here! I thinkg I actually dies alittle inside when I heard the person who's directing the remake had worked on transformers...there is absolutely nothing wrong with the remake and I have no fucking idea as to why they felt as if they needed to work on one. Noone gets their own ideas anymore and it's deeply depressing. I wonder how Wes felt about this? I only hope it was pissed off cause otherwise I lost alot of respect for him.

  • @2conscious

It was 26 back the first Nightmare on Elm Street was made, to remake it seems like a pretty good idea.

I somehow agree with you that this era lacks creativity compared to the 80's, but then again we've done almost everything within movies and personally I'm pretty sick of you close minded fools who complains about how everything is shit now adays, and regardless if this one will be good or not the original will still be left untouched, 100% watchable.

  • everybody is making such a big deal about Robert not coming back.. it was HIS CHOICE not to come back after he became aware they were making this movie... I loved Robert in the origianls, but he's isn't coming back. You guys think that since Jackie is taking over, that its gonna suck.. Once person doesn't make a film, a film. This new crew is good, that's the whole point of remakes, to get new people.. I'm gonna give this remake a shot

  • he said he didnt even know about it until the last month of this Speech so he wasnt even informed about it so no it wasnt his choice, but hes kept his head up and in a positive mood about this but deep down he knows he wants to do this again personally i seen the trailer of it and i think it sucks without Robert my opinion He makes it so original and classic but whatever everything from music and movies is starting to suck for todays era, classics is always better

  • there is a video, of the producers, or someone involved in the film saying that he chose not to come back. But it's w/e. I think most people are over it now, lol

  • i seen other clips sayin he did not know till last minute, but eh w/e

  • but robert officially remains a legend forever. only person they kept to play freddy through all the movies. until now

  • Jackie earl haley is freddy thats final.

  • if robert aint freddy...

    itz gonna blow nutz

  • Robert<333 Ill always love YOU!

  • If Robert England says that this movie is going to be great, then I'm sold on it. Robert is one of the most amazing people, especially for being the original Freddy Krueger and handing his character to another actor. I'm gonna give it a shot. I absolutely dislike remakes, but this interview kind of puts this new movie into perspective...

  • sorry Robert i missed the r button

  • let's give this film a chance first before we burn people at the stake! i mean i hate the idea of anyone else playing Freddy, but it might be worth our time to see this movie. at the very least we know that rorshach plays freddy for this one and he did a great job in watchmen but yes i agree there is only one Fredy and his name is robet englund................

  • I love Robert! He's very smart and a very good actor and it sucks that he's not being cast as much as other talentless hacks.

  • Comment removed

  • I kinda want to see what Rob Englund has to say about Jackie Earle Haley being casted for the role of Freddy Krueger in the remake...

  • me too.

  • Freddy Krueger = Robert Englund and thats the bottom line !!! =D

  • agreed

  • this remake will be updated but money doesnt always make a classic i have seen teaser pics and i will be a fan of the low budget nightmare n i personally be boycotting this film

  • lol really boycotting cause someone else has a new idea for freddy wow havent you ever thought about your own freddy scene or movie everyone has this guy is doing what everyone wants to do so shut up and i bet your gonna be the first dude at the opening to see the movie cause i love robert as freddy but they said they are making freddy more scary less goofy and i wanna see a new version of freddy idc what you guys say about this film but keep in mind do you really think boycott is gonna work?

  • Thats why Classic Elm St was fun to watch because of its humor in some of the parts, not every scary movie has to be just all scary i think it should have multiple positions in audience perspective of how they interpret the movie in which i seen the trailer and i think its gonna suck but im gonna watch it and maybe it will suck and maybe it wont we will just have to see

  • i dissagree id rather see a horror movie that scares the shit out of me then one that kinda scares me but then it makes me laugh every once and awhile so im not scared the whole time

  • O RLY?

No, YOU don't know what you're talking about. Case closed.

  • Just a question to all you angry posters:

Why do you go see movies, is it to have fun?

To me it sounds like you go see movies to judge them and compare them, which is a complete waste of time and money. Do you think any of the people on this project, or any remake project, expect it to be as good as the original? No, they just want to re-invent the story for a new generation.

    That's my first point.

  • Second.

If you're hellbent on hating this movie, then I feel sorry for you, because remakes, though NEVER better than the originals, generally have something new to add; the perfect example of this being R.Z's Halloween remake. The extended view of what Michael goes through as a child is interesting, and by far the best part of the movie.

    Third.

People who claim that the remakes suck because they're not as scary as the originals.

When something's the first to be done, it's scary. When it has be

  • When it has been done 10 times, of course it's not going to be scary. Don't be idiots.

Now that my rant in three parts is done, I bid you good day.

  • Remakes better than the Original:

    The Thing

    The Fly

    Ocean's Eleven

  • Wow, you are a really angry person. I guess I wasn't aware of that. Well, you're right, I won't go see that. and I will help support your pro-Micheal Bay stance in the future. God bless.

  • I just believe that the whole remake situation is congruent with the whole reality television situation; the executives of Hollywood and the whole of the media giants are not allowing for unsanctioned creativity. Now I don't think that there aren't many thousands of people with creative ideas, but my question is, what is the difference in the 1980s, where an idea that was original, but a little bit out there was financed, but an original idea today is canned in favor of a rehash of an old idea.

  • And, this is the last I will write because I don't want to waste too much time... Film is an art form. Like painting, writing novels, and composing music. No matter how low the art piece, it should still be protected by certain respect. That is, no one would remake Picasso's "The Old Guitarist", Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness," or Beethoven's "5th Symphony." But, to my point... Today's artists steal clips, segments of another's art to make a beat, and low class directors, steal ideas.

  • The best method to stifling this is to boycott it. Just try real hard not to go to the box office and watch it on the silver screen. And don't rent it. Watch it for free on the internet. Bankrupt the people who are peddling this crap. I agree with DTheHempfling, our old DVD's are still there. We just need to watch those again and if we don't have them, buy them. Support Robert Englund by purchasing the old ones. Thank you, DTheHempfling, you truly are a champion for the classics.

  • Man, what a shame. A god awful shame... I don't care who they get to remake any classic. It's a sign of the lack of original ideas in Hollywood. And when will it end? I call for a boycott of these films. Don't watch them. Don't go to the theatres, don't rent them when they come out. They are a travesty. What next? A Micheal Bay remake of "The Godfather"? Who is this no hack? Who thinks they can make a better "Jaws"? What kind of people watch these remakes anyway? I don't know any.

  • I meant no talent hack. I'm even losing faith in Rob Zombie. Alright... I get it, you like old horror movies. Your House of a 1000 Corpses was obviously an homage to Texas Chainsaw Massacre... But for God's sake, man, come up with an original idea. Not this Halloween 2 business. Malcolm McDowell is not Donald Pleasence. I personally will not entertain the poor creativity of Hollywood. I will not watch any of this regurgitated cellulite. I mean come on...

  • DTheHempfling has obviously sucked Micheal Bays' cock more than once or twice in his/her life. Hahahahaha.

He screwed Friday the 13th up. Fact.

So stop your pussy BAWing and go back to your hole, DTH.

  • Personally Michale bay has nothing to do with horror. NOTHING. he's ok in action. but...*shakes head* no.

  • if they make the remake REALLY good, its okay with me.. personly i stick to the originals! the new friday movie was.. ehm.. not THAT good, to much unnfunny one liners and... you know what i mean if you are a fan of the old ones.. the only remakes i think is okay, personly i liked halloween and texas chainsaw massacre.. but they will never beat the originals! im a huge fan of the classic horror movies, and many remakes fucks them up! friday 1-8 its okay, elm street, i liked all of them!

  • agree with you.. love the old ones, and YES, they are still here.. but sometimes we need new ones, for the new generation i gess! anyway.. i like the old ones and some of the new ones! the new batman movie was a masterpiece!

  • your right, a sequel is way better!

  • if robert englund has some faith in the movie then so do I

  • I still cannot believe how much money he charges at conventions for autographs and stuff but he does deserve the money he gets I just think its wierd that they charge so much money like 30 bucks for an autograph. But hey its how the rich stay rich and I pay to get them so my complaint aint shit sorry for the rany

  • Stop your fucking Titting about Robert Englund not re prising his role as Krueger. He doesnt want to do it anymore.I wish the guys who are doing the remake the best of luck and they prove the bitching doubters wrong.

  • If Robert Englund is the only Freddy, then Bela Lugosi is the only Dracula, and Adam West is the only Batman. Seriously, why not review the film AFTER you see the fucking thing!?

  • What the fuck, that's completely retarded bullshit, hey we fans should boycott this piece of shit,so that's not made,I'm gonna cry really bad if it comes out, feel sorry for robert!

  • I agree with Half of the people here;

    NO ROBERT, NO FREDDY.

I fucking hate the new actors for Freddy AND Nancy. FUCK Michael Bay. His movies almost always BOMB.

I hope the real fans don't go and it BOMBS at the box office.

  • I will see the remake.

He will be in it, but not as Freddy :(

That is so sad, he wont be Freddy.

  • No Robert, No Freddy!.. The original Elm Street will allways be the best one, The remake will never beat the original.. Drop all the cgi crap... Give us old school horror and robert as freddy if they gonna remake this wonderfull classic!....

  • I think Robert doesnt understand how great the original is . Even with CGI

they will not make a better movie .

Some things just cant be outdone

  • BTW to all the Fred-Heads out there & all the Horror fans, If you're a TRUE Nightmare on Elm Street Fanactic, I recommand Not to see the Remake, Cause if Robert aint in it, Forget It.

  • EXACTLY!!!

  • Robert Englund IS Freddy Krueger & will always will be, So if he's not doing Freddy anymore, then there's no point doing the Remake. I dont care what actor they pick to play Freddy, NO ONE can can do it better than Robert Englund. HANDS DOWN.

  • EXACTLY!!!

  • he also play the voice of filix faust in justice league and the vulture is the spectacular spider man.

  • ohhh he also plays The Riddler in The Batman series too ^_^ just though i'd throw that in

  • Someone else playing Freddy will be freddy`s death. That sounds like a real nightmare this remake.

  • I couldn't agree more, Nightmare on Elm St was the first horor movie I ever watched, Robert Englund made Freddy just too damn good and the movie is just too damn good to remake, I don't agree with Englund that it's primative by today's standards, but how can I argue with him he's Freddy Kruger.

  • i KNOW. i consider myself i HARD core 80's horror fan, and by far the best movies to come out of that time period, or ANY other for that matter, are the Nightmare on Elm Street movies. In my opinion, NO ONE else could ever do Freddy justice. Robert Englund doesn't just play Freddy, he own's Freddy. He IS Freddy. It makes me uneasy to think of someone else playing mine and many other horror fan's most beloved character.

  • i died inside when i found out someone else was playing Freddy....i'm mean come on there would be NO real freddy without Robert Englund.....well beside the fact that Wes created him.....

  • Is nothing sacred anymore??! Leave the classics ALONE!! that movie is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!! with the CGI and what not now that is available they are going to RUIN IT!!

  • lol calm down and take deep breaths its alright.....just i guess protest the new movie or whatever will help you^_^

  • I hope robert does it dont give up hope yet iv got a funny feeling that hes goin to do the movie at last so dont give up hope he will be back he is freddy if he dies then freddy dies there like one person ///A Nightmare On Englunds Street 09

  • Prequel instead of remake is better idea!

  • theres somethin about the original film... its like the only slasher that seems it CAN'T be remade or reimagined

  • Becuase it's a one timer, if you will. Maybe it was luck how well the movies turned out, ESPECIALLY number one. But i honestly can't say that this is a movie that will be well doen remade. It will probably be equaly as frightening, but in a different way- but nothing can have the perfect chilling quality to it, that Wes created in the original Nightmare.

  • i WANT robert

    Robert is Freddy

  • Rob owns Freddy.

  • Im open to more Nightmare Movies because of CGI, But a new sequal or a resurection, or even a prequal, NOT a reamake, come up with some ORIGINAL IDEAS !Michael BAY! If they could dish out Michal Myers back storry into a whole move, P.S. that was SHIT~ than freddys bach storty could be like an epic tolken type jurnny+ they need !!!Robert!!! Comon, theres only one true freddy,,,ARE YOU WITH ME

  • YES!@!!!!!~~!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 112%.

  • Well, I bet there will be no Robert Englund. The reason? Because if it made even a small splash at the box office, and is able to finance itself into another mediocre journey into the disparate macabre, they don't want an actor who will a). draw any parallels to the old franchise (remember, they're "reinvigorating the franchise, see Malcolm McDowell as Donald Pleasence), and b). who will be getting old, and hence, not be able to continue for another, dare I say it, "sequel" to this remake.

  • When i heard that they were going to make a remake of a nightmare on elm street i just broke down and cried. they cant do this. i dont care what script they have or who they cast. the remake is going to ruin my life.

  • gay, like you I'm sure.

  • wat ever they decide to do they better be really careful about remaking this movie, new line cinema is a success because of the nightmare movies, so they better take good care of the franchise that made them big.

  • + id rather watch the original elm st movie than most modern horror movies
