The officer was being very polite and firm with the man when he was arresting him. If you watch the video, you will hear the officer say, as the officer pulls him off, please get off the train now in a very polite but very firm tone of voice. I am sure the officer realized just how terrified this man was making the passengers!!

this was the second time that same day he was arested. The first time was on the samtrans bus system for battery on another person. He was drunk on this one yelling racist thing to people. This is clearly an accident resulting from poor judgement on both sides. Officer was not intending to slam the suspect into the window. You can see the suspect's right arm had by mistake (probably because he was drunk) tried to brace himself against the window.
After the window breaks, the suspect braces himself against the cement wall. The officer, mistakenly assumed the suspect would have braced himself against the cement from the get go. You can see that the officer was caught off guard as well as, when the glass breaks, the officer's feet slides off balance.

I didn't see any excessive force. The guy was bbeing arrested, and was placed against a verticle surface. Yeah, the cop COULD have put the guy on the ground, immediately, but that would not make anyone feel better about the video: it would just show the cop slamming the guy on to a cement floor, and would appear MORE excessive than using a verticle surface.

Before you speak about police training, let me stop you there. You are trained in that situation to find a leverage point, which in this case is that wall. It is easier to get someone against a wall and hold them there for backup, then it is to throw them to the ground and restrain them there. He did everything right. The guy was resisting. This is a split second decision, he doesn't sit behind a keyboard thinking this situation up. This situation puts the officers life in danger.
What video are you watching? Please link it for us to see. I don't see anyone tossed into a window. The officer was going for that leverage point. He didn't WWE him across the room into a window.... Once you are resisting from an officer, yes you lose some of your rights. The officer could have even thrown in a couple punches to get his hands behind his back. However he did not. Once resisting arrest, you are fighting the officer. You do not know what, or if any weapon is present on the suspect.

The officer was being very polite and firm with the man when he was arresting him. If you watch the video, you will hear the officer say, as the officer pulls him off, please get off the train now in a very polite but very firm tone of voice. I am sure the officer realized just how terrified this man was making the passengers!!

This is clearly an accident resulting from poor judgement on both sides. Officer was not intending to slam the suspect into the window. You can see the suspect's right arm had by mistake (probably because he was drunk) tried to brace himself against the window.

After the window breaks, the suspect braces himself against the cement wall. The officer, mistakenly assumed the suspect would have braced himself against the cement from the get go. You can see that the officer was caught off guard as well as, when the glass breaks, the officer's feet slides off balance.

Yeah, the cop COULD have put the guy on the ground, immediately, but that would not make anyone feel better about the video: it would just show the cop slamming the guy on to a cement floor, and would appear MORE excessive than using a verticle surface.

Per the Uniform Building Code that window should have tempered safety glass in it, who signed that building permit? They should be fired and then sued along with the contractor that installed pane glass.

Their is no police brutality. You can tell he did not try to put his head through the window. Also, the video is edited when he is taking the guy to the ground. Read the reports. The officer suffered a concussion and multiple cuts to his head. Suspect had cuts to his hands. My guess is, during the "editing" the part of him fighting the officer, was taken out. Before you speak about police training, let me stop you there. You are trained in that situation to find a leverage point, which in this case is that wall. It is easier to get someone against a wall and hold them there for backup, then it is to throw them to the ground and restrain them there. He did everything right. The guy was resisting. This is a split second decision, he doesn't sit behind a keyboard thinking this situation up. This situation puts the officers life in danger.

Once you are resisting from an officer, yes you lose some of your rights. The officer could have even thrown in a couple punches to get his hands behind his back. However he did not. Once resisting arrest, you are fighting the officer. You do not know what, or if any weapon is present on the suspect.

The officer has the right to use excessive force when resisted. Just the fact him trying to fight people on the train gives the right for excessive force to control the suspect. Get a life guys

Did the offender physically harm anyone? If not, what gives this "officer" the right to respond in such a violent manner? The offender's arm was extended, but he did not propel himself into the window! The officer rather by accident or on purpose is clearly forcing the offender towards the window.

Regardless if the Oficer was in the right or not. He doesn't need to throw anybody into a glass window. It's probably a good thing he raised his arm in defense. Otherwise the injuries may have been worse. Everyone has rights.
I think a lot of cops think they are above the law. You see it al the time.

Excessive use of force clearly no doubt. It's amazing how you guys see what you want to see. You don't see this pig get on the train looking to do harm to the suspect. First he chokes him when he first gets on the train. Then just before he launches the suspect into the wall, he takes a power step and catapults the suspect forward. LUCKILY the suspect DID put his arm up to protect his face.
