Pence is the turkey leading house reps into rejecting ANY bailout plan - they're postponing the bailout because he refuses to save the country with public money. If it's Sadaam or Al Qaeda - bomb the foreigners, pump money into corporations! But save the economy - NO WAY! Whatta turkey.
Just go home you Republican idiots. Nothing but a cheap political ploy. Republicans just trying to give their oil company benefactors a last second gift as before Bush leaves office knowing that Obama would come in and gas prices would go down. What a coincidence that with a couple of months left to the Bush administration and gas prices skyrocket and all of a sudden we need drilling. Hey oil executives, it looks like the gravy train is ending if Americans wise up to your dirty tricks.
Hey smart-ass... Gas prices have been on the drastic rise since early 2006... It is one of the tools Pelosi used to take the Speakership... But she is more concerned with "saving the planet from Global Warming" than ensuring a parallel path to energy independence. It is not about oil money... The oil execs supply a product and the free market sets it's price. It is Pelosi's congress that is restricting the free market supply thus driving up prices.
Oh...another one of those free market types as if the gas prices are based on free market supply and demand. I suppose you would fully support a liquor store owner charging $20 for a bottle of water after a hurricane because his store happens to be the only one still standing. This is a felony in many states, but for idiots like you it's just the free market at work. Gas was cheaper under Democrat Clinton than oil guys Bush and Cheney. You truly need to get hit over the head with a cluebat.
It is only a felony because of federal laws restricting price gouging - which is a side effect of free markets in crisis areas... That store owner has just as much right to lock his doors and NOT sell anything, and shoot anyone attempting to break in and steal his property.
The free market price of oil is set by traders of the oil future shares. The prices that they sell/buy are based on speculation. THAT is free market.
Would you have the US implement Venezuela style energy policy? Dumbass
At least you're honest about your view that people should be able to charge whatever they can get away with or completely shut off supply on their whim. You're entitled to this point of view. The point I'm making is that with Bush in the White House the oil companies can do just that with impunity. If they try that bullshit with a Democratic administration they will face serious sanctions. That is why the oil companies fear an Obama administration because they know the gravy train will be over.
Yes! About time the republicans grew a pair and started to push for what they know is right. They wouldn't even do it when they had the majority, choosing to cave in to liberals on practically everything.
It's time for a President Mike!

Obama will drive the prices higher, BTW.
