why I have to flat me out, maybe because you are telling me this? oh, come on... don't be silly. say that the pilot, in different categories, was the best one is maybe a non-sense: sebastien loeb, colin mcrae, marcus gronholm, carlos sainz, didier auriol..., and henri toivonen, juha kankkunen, miki biason, markku alén, ... are all impressive. the WRC affects shorter times than the Gr. B, etcetera -
but I know, for example, of one person who has raced with 38°C fever in a car that is not so comfortable and practice, that was almost an indomitable beast. another legend - I can say only this. rip henri toivonen, rip sergio cresto; rip colin mcrae. they were really on top. strenght and honor.
sebastien is the greatest !!! nowadays , he is the most wanted driver for me to see in the formula 1, even more than rossi , in this video you can see that he s very comfortable in the cockpit such as heikki in the c4 , i compare loeb just with senna , he does not has other rivalry for his handicap , great feature of the french television , congratulations , Rodrigo Tarpinian ,Sao Paulo , Brasil
i think so too .... but in the name of god , .... seb deserves this chance ... the man is fast dude.... 8th place with rbr yesterday........ in barcelona with gp drivers competing...what the fuck !!!!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!! hug from brasil rodrigo tarpinian
I would say that F1 and rally are likely about equal. Judging by the on-car video of Loeb, he wasn't going into the corners fast enough, since he had to get on the throttle rather early. However, I am sure it wouldn't take him long, with the help of comparing his data to Heikki's, to be on the pace.
well loeb started his racing career with karting so it must have been extra special for him. i'm a heikki supporter but i wonder why they picked him over kimi. maybe because renault and citreon are from the same country
Renault and Citroen are owned by the same company. Kimi wouldn't make sense in that way, Ferrari is a rival team after all. And now we saw Kimi drive Fiat S2000 rallycar :)
kimi actually bought the car himself, he bought it because it's popular and succesful in the s2000 series. it had nothing to do with ferrari nor fiat group or whatever. an as for heikki driving a citroen while driving a renault, they both are french car manufacturers so it only makes sense.
Loeb really looks fast, cool and confident in F1. For sure maybe the best rally driver ever but we have to take into consideration that F1 car here has Traction Control ON! As all F1 drivers say T.C. makes huge difference in the car's behaviour!! I very wold like to see Loeb driving a 2008 F1 car. That would rock ;)
I'm sure he'd do just fine. Rally is much harder than F1... F1: extremly light cars with heavy brakes etc... built specifically for that use on controlled environnement, clean and wide roads, sand traps etc... Rally: thin bumpy, dirty etc... roads, sports cars modified, in regular roads (ravins, trees, rocks etc...).
So if you can control a "heavy" sports car at over 130kph into a tight bumpy, curvy gravel road with a ravin at your right and heavy trees and rocks at your left... ;-)
The rally is much more difficult than the F1 .. Apart from the fact that to guide the C4 in the pictures initial loeb, Loeb has no problem to drive a F1 ... If they use him another hour was a track record!
for sure , i always said that the best drivers are in the wrc , that s a pitty for us , brazilians , that here rallying is just starting to be a culture , hope someday we can achieve world´s level to compete in the wrc , hug. Rodrigo Tarpinian , Sao Paulo , Brasil
Not having a problem driving the f1 car doesn't mean his lap time was good either. And last time I checked even rally car drivers crash a lot, or make mistakes just as any f1 driver would in a rally car. Maybe not as much, but a talented driver is a talented driver. It only takes practice and commitment for them to excel in any form of motorsport.
@Traverso91 he wouldn't have the track record. But he was on pace. Loeb has experience with Lemans cars though, so he is used to downforce. I don't think Heikki has much experience with rally
Sebastian Loeb is the vest wrc driver of all time, and I have no doubt in my mind that he'll win in 2008. He made F1 look too easy. Rally is way tougher than F1 in my opinion. Great Stuff. They should've let Schumi drive rally, that would've ben a real treat.
Its an R27!!! The R26 is from 2006 and still has the blue/yellow color scheme. R26 is the car that gave Alonso his 2nd world title. Kovalainen was renault's TEST PILOT in 2006
Right, first off it is not WCC, it is WRC. And he did not finish 3rd, he finished 1st. Srcondly, it was not the R27 he tested it was the R26. And last of all, he is a 4 times World Rally Champion, not 3!
I really wish lobe would get into f1, or would have he's such an incredible driver!
