Maybe Jack Nicklaus was wrong, the equipment isn't making the game easier. That's how it's detrimental. It allows average players to get into scoring position without actually improving their game. I could care less about the slow group in front of me, if they hit it in the woods, they hit it in the woods, it won't matter what club they use. Nicklaus and those guys hit the ball long distances with wood clubs and crap balls, the spun them with no crazy design or crazy grooves.

Call me crazy, but I don't see the appeal in hitting ridiculous distances. I do however see the appeal in hitting a solid a solid 3 iron with a draw to within 10 feet of the flag. I can't do that, but that's what golf is about, not 350 yard drives!

@djh89 Well think about this though. The farther you hit the ball, the closer you are to the flag, and thus the iron you need is going to be a shorter iron, which in turn could definitely give you a better chance of hitting it within 10 feet. Now personally I would rather drive it 270 and in the fairway 70% of the time rather than 350 down and in the fairway only 35%. But if you're like DJ who can hit those long/straight balls, then you know you have a solid shot at winning a tournament.

when I first saw this product name I thought it was an update to the Burner ball line, not to the club line. The balls could be RocketBallZ but clubs are balls...they are Launchers. I think these could be RocketLauncherZ if you want. Love the concept, not sold on the branding. Have to say that I had a rental set of Nike's with "velocity slot" and that concept definitely provides benefits to all users because off center hits go better, balls of center jump.

I hope these clubs are banned by the PGA, and they should be. It allows average hitters the benefit of above average hitters length without really doing anything as far as "work" or improving their swing mechanics. Not too mention the cheesy knock off name you gave it. YOu should be so proud of yourselves for adding a detriment to the game of golf.

@mjdonnelly1012 Nothing's stopping the players from getting one of these. You rarely see anyone on tour using their staff brand 3 wood. Most guys are using their "old faithful" 3 wood from years ago. Hell, Luke Donald uses TM woods and he just throws Mizuno head covers on, as does Couples with Bridgestone.

The gain of ball speed just means more chance to go further offline anyway. Tour pros hit 3 wood for a reason...to not carry the ball to trouble. They won't go for it.
