  • a jal123?

  • whats with the screaming???

  • Must be an extreme crosswind! JUST LOOK AT THE FLAP CONFIGURATION AT 3:21!!!

  • I kept waiting for a 777 to come and land, and realized 777 did not exist 20 yrs back :P

  • Thanks for those great old birds!!

    DC-10-10; L1011; B741SR.... loving to think back :)

  • Osaka Itami

  • Classic plane spotting videos are just awesome.

  • Can't go wrong with the Japanese

  • At 3:45 very hard and very nice ;-)

  • 2:05 = DC-10 "missing" centre gear, NICE SHOT!

  • @1singleSh0t Its called a DC-10-10.

  • @musico81986 i think it's a configuration

  • @musico81986 actually these ones are DC-10-40s.

  • Very nice video and some nice old type of airplanes :)

  • verry low!!!

  • Love the DC-10s

  • AMAZING !!!

    Great pilots !!!

  • AircraftCompare DOTcom provides exact details of around every aircraft in the world from the past present to the FUTURE FLYING CARS, with photos specs price and everything else. Compare side by side the Boeing 747 and the Airbus A380 or the MIG with the F16 etc, get access to category wise airplane and helicopter rankings, meet the prominent figures from the aerospace industry through the community..

  • very lucky...nowadays people cant get to the runway very close. there are some cases people steal the same frequency using certain walkie talkie and could interrupt pilot and tower communications....extremely dangerous.

  • @datof no, that's extremely unlikely, if not impossible.

  • VERY GOOD QUALITY, really 20 years old?

  • It's probably even older. Just look at the planes, L-1011s, DC-10s, 747-100s, types that mainstream airlines like JAL or ANA ceased operating ages ago.

  • it doesn't matter when the back wheel touch the ground the plane goes back to normal

    am i wrong????

  • My favorite plane there is the DC-10 at 1:52, and 3:30, and the L-1011 at 2:20. The one at 3:10 looks like a 767

  • at the very last moment - the pilots have to move the plane parallel to the runway as not to snap the landing gears

  • Actually it's not nescessary. It's called a crab landing if you don't bring the nose out of the crab before touchdown. It does induce stress on the landing gear - more than usual - however modern jets' landing gear is designed to withstand such a landing.

  • i just think the wheels steer all to the same direction to avoid bad reactions during the touch....am I wrong?

  • Yes, you are wrong. The airplane's forward inertia allows it to continue straight down the centerline. Most pilots of jets will crab until right before touchdown and then kick the rudder to straighten out.

  • You're wrong. Only a couple high tech planes have the capability to turn the gear to align with the runway, like the B2.

  • Those guys are Crazy

  • I would be screaming like a girl xD I love planes

  • is that a MD-80s at 1:26?

  • yes

  • Awsome vid, its clear to see why those 74's have such a big rudder. !!

  • Good job! Excellent compilation of airliners you don't see around anymore landing in challenging weather conditions.

  • Came in sideways once in a 747 (passenger) @ KIX. Can't say that was a pleasant experience. I'd rather not ever experience that again.

Not quite as bad as being sideways @ Logan Int'l in a tiny puddle-jumper, tho'!

  • Happened to me as well, in an Air France 747 after a flight from Havana back to Europe. My seat was in the rear of the aircraft, so when the pilot tried to align it right after touchdown we were torn from left to right and back for several times. I didn't sleep during that flight and thought I was hallucinating while my head was shaking from one side to the other. Everyone found that a funny experience after all it was a very nice and calm flight with a gentle braking after that touchdown.

  • its the best job in the world well i love it

  • I would kill to become a pilot!

  • thats not a good combination

  • lol

  • @RedDynasty123 me too u got fsx

  • that dc-10 landing was rough!

  • yeah both were't smooth

  • the L-1011 Tri star wasn't very smooth either! haha.

  • that last one, perfectley done.

  • a feather in the wind

  • Wow, you even see the plane bounce a bit after touch-down at 3:50.

I found it funny how the pilot eliminates the crab at 4:23 just to have the plane yaw to the left again after touch-down.

  • these are some crazy/brave/amazing pilots! id fly with them any day

  • you ar cryzy

  • Just my opinion, but at 3:50, he should have gone around... Great vid anyhow! :D

  • You're probably right. It's funny how all of the MD-11s are the ones that look like they're hard to land. Probably why that Fed Ex Crashed like that.

  • i can't see a single md11 in this vid! I think you mean dc10?

  • Yes my mistake a DC-10. Though the MD-11 is based on the DC-10 but just longer with wingletts and other mods.

  • that md11 had different problems. it had the perfect line-up and the winds were calm, but its nose just tilted down and nose-dived into the runway. im guessing it was an avionics failure

  • a little of centerline at 2:00 lol. awsome vid good work

  • What year was this recorded in?

  • This is the view of Itami airport from the Senri river.

  • Yup, you are right, it is an L-1011 at 2:30 or so. I guess I missed it before. The DC-10 and the MD11 are the same plane. Much like a DC-9 and MD88 are the same plane.

  • sorry, I didn't see this reply before I posted. Accept my apology!

  • 3:50 ouch

  • At 2.18 it's L-1011 :P

    amazing plane

  • at 2:35 you see the L-1011. the DC-10 (MD11) look very similar but the easy way to tell is, the L-1011 has the tail engine inside the fuselage while the DC10 has it outside, right through the vertical stabiliser.

  • Call me crazy but I don't see any L-1011s in this video, should probably take that out of your tags. I saw a DC-10 aka MD11 but no L-1011s.

  • hahaha DC-10 aka MD11??? theyre 2 different airplanes

  • Watch from 2:18. It's ANA's L-1011. This is an old video. I guess around 1985 because of JAL's painting of aircrafts.

  • P.S I found one generation old paintings so it's around 1990 but not beyond 1995.

  • there is an L-1011.

  • toy2day,i must commet your great videoing

  • Man Korean`s Airline color hasn`t change a bit.

  • You got a point there.

  • Whoa, you can almost rub them planebellies.XD

  • ya gotta love the L-1011!!! amazing piece of machinery

  • siento la adrenalina como los espectadores increible

  • nice view!!!

    great video!

  • ya gotta love the tristar gr8 plane.

  • Is it only me or does it look like every landing made here is going off the runway?? :S Because the camera man is so right, and I'm used to be in the middle it looks like they're crashing... =P

  • Yes, around 1990...all the ANA planes are in NC as u can see on the 767, Tristar & 747, there're also two JAL planes in NC the DC-10 & 747 and also the TOA MD-80 are in "airbus house" colors...but great to see the old JAL colors again, i miss those days in the 1970's & 80's...so thanks alot to this youtuber for bringing back some memories of that era! ;-) - Sugiii

  • what year was this filmed?

  • Judging by the equipment being shown and the one JAL DC-10 that had the newer color scheme, this had to be around 1990 or so. Give or take a year or two.

  • love that 767 !

  • lol this cameraman is brave

  • if that cameraman is brave, what are the pilots lol super human!!!

  • Love this video! Those jets looked low enough for you to touch their bellies! :-) Thanks for posting!
