  • /watch?v=dkHJKakHMpo :OOOO

  • Well done!

  • The avacoda could have used another multri level ;)

  • hello everyone me and my friend are creating a free website that will render your animations we have a facebook and twitter search OpenRender on facebook and openrender on twitter to stay posted please check us out we are putting a lot of work into our servers

  • really good technical modeling.

  • wassabeeeee

  • Was that rendered real-time?

If not, why is there no anti-aliasing?

  • pretty nice, there are just some problems with interlacing geometry, and I'm not a fan of the lighting or background, but that was pretty neat

  • nice video ...

    this just made me hungry

    i <3 sushi

    ^-^

  • HOLY S--- thats alot of wasabi

  • this made me hungry lolz

  • Sushi is DEFINITELY a reason to make an animation. beautifully done!

  • yummy

  • very 1nformational

  • I love how the Wasabi syncs up with the music at the end.

  • MAN tht is realy good.. espesialy the sushi.. I LOVE SUSHI! this vid was born to be this good

    5/5!

  • that was absolutly amazing

    i was like

    wow

  • me encantó!!! (:

  • nice

  • Very good!

  • very cool animation

and I love your music. It takes a lot of creativity to produce both.

  • where the ginger!!

    jk

    i love this!

  • Nice animation... and now I know how to make sushi!

  • Damn ... now you make me hungry! haha!

    Great animation

  • sweet! how long did it take to render?

  • It looks so realistic that I didn't realize it was animated until the end.

  • Love it! Very fun project you have here!

  • YOU CAN MAKE A COOKING SHOW OUT OF THIS DUDE! MAKE MORE not just bout food maybe

  • i love it!!!

  • cool i made something on blender but it didn't look like this

  • Nice!

  • you said that on another blender video...

  • PLEASE make "better with MS paint and PowerPoint" or wait i guess you only say that cuz youre so sad that your life is miserable and you cant do shit in blender 3D...

  • i think you're pretty sad if you don't realise that it was a joke and i meant that this is awesome. no replies thank you.

  • spycrab you have the potential to be the biggest moron in existence

  • You two are funny....arguing about a Sushi animation...hahaha

  • wow exelent animation. :) 5 stars

  • nice animation, but pointless story except for a cooking show ; )

  • To fix that avocado, select only the points on the outer surface of each slice and click "set smooth" in the editing buttons window

Make sure you don't have the vertices on the inner edges/faces selected when you press "set smooth" or it won't look like the slices were cut cleanly

  • Hey Chris....and i think he tried to make it look like he was cutting it out...but i could b wrong (prob am..) :B

Great animation by the way! 5/5!!

  • amazing and cool

  • subsurf that avocado man

  • very nice!

  • luv it 5 starz

  • wow dude gr8 job, i just got blender and i am going through the tutorials, its harder than u would think, but i noticed once u grasp the concept its reasonably easy. im just struggling with the modeling

  • "BETTA THAN-A MAMA!"

  • Waaaa!!!

    a like this anim!

whats time make the render/anim ?

  • this is amazing! how long did it take you to make?

  • I have Blender, but i dont know how to get the things moving

  • Same here. I have no clue what to do lol. SO many buttons...

  • Very good, my friend. Congratulations for this video.

  • oh and also you have to cut the tuna with a sashimi knife.you know how i know that?huh?huh? CAUSE I PLAY COOKING MAMA AND I COMPLETED THE GAME!!!=/

  • you can't just cut the sushi with any other knife!YOU HAVE TO CUT IT WITH THE SUSHI KNIFE

    good job though! ^.^ 5/5

  • What the hell do you know? You a chef?

  • i like this a lot, i ll do it!

  • is this cell shading?

  • It's weird with the nori inside and the rice outside.

  • it calls uramaki, its really common!

  • lol, it looks more like a taco

  • lol looks like cooking mama!!

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that was amazing... it must have taken ages!!!

  • Wonderful animation and music! =)

  • Yoy must realy like sushi

  • So cool! I also found this other animation, Plythora Particle Animation (maybe by the same guy?)

    You should check it out!

    God Bless

  • Everything's great but...you forgot to add

some ginger. Haha. That was awesome. Not

only did you make a good lengthy Blender

sushi instructional video, you also made

me confident that I can make my own sushi

now. I love sushi. Great work a18b64.

I've never really used latices in Blender

    before.

  • Really well done

  • isn't the green stuff usually on the outside?

  • The seaweed should wrap the rice. If it is flipped around as in the video, the rice just stick to the Sushi roller and would not come off.

  • You can do it either way. This is how I usually make them. The sesame seeds keep the rice from sticking. (plus you wrap the makisu [mat] in plastic wrap).

  • how do you use blender program

  • HAHAHA good question, go to blender[.dot.]org or type "blender tutorial" using google. Have a nice day.

  • Shrimp! fish eggs! salmon! ahhh none of those are there!

  • ... wonderful... only thing is try to turn OSA on I know it is slower but it looks better...

  • amazing

  • applause

  • fluid too.

  • I wish my sushi was that perfect,

    great video !!

  • i don't believe this now i have questions first what type of computer did you use. second where do i get blender plz answer.

  • type free 3d animation software on this website and ull c dats how i even got to know of the existance of this software

  • lol I love that music with this vid! It makes it so friendly!

  • goooooood

  • why no shrimp, fish eggs, or slamon tho???

  • that.........was...............AWESOME!

  • Cel shading. :D:D:D:D:D:D

  • Great job on the shading it fits with a sushi making tutorial, very cooking mama esque.

  • WELL DONE for a great sushi animation....wish everyone could do the right rolling and pressing!!!

I have enjoyed watching the sushi making....was that a Californian style?

And that's the URAMAKI sushi!!!!! Thnx for sharing!!!

  • oh that is awsome. but can i make a suggestion change the backround color from that bluish purple to a brighter color (go to the little planet symbol in the materials section)

  • this should be a tv advert for sushi :)

  • Excellent job. but how did you get the rice NOT to stick to the roller? wa-ha.

sorry! coming from one who has made sushi.

  • Love the avocado... actually i think i just love avocado.

  • Nice. Reminds me a little of the game Cooking Mama!

  • O_O that was amazing!! well done!!! ^^ ;)

  • very clear now i know how to make sushi :)

  • absolutely TV worthy, impresive + 100

  • Love this!

  • lol the wasabi was a nice touch !

  • tht was actually really entertaining to watch, great job on the animation!

  • Very impressive.

  • Oh my god! That was amazing! How did you roll, cut, and change the mesh over time!?

  • I like the cartoonish look, reminds me of cooking mama.

  • this'll give me an idea for my show ^_^

  • nice =) and i love the maki pieces irl :D

  • Very impressive. You should set smooth the avacado though. That's my only critique.

  • THAT WAS SWEET!!!

  • hoe on earth do you use blender i cant do anything

  • Overall a nice use of blender. Good job with the modeling, materials, and animaiton. The animation must of pain a pain to setup. My only question is, how long did that take to render?

  • Thanks! I rendered it all as .pngs and compiled them with Framed (Mac OSX), and it really didn't take long at all. 10 seconds of animation (250 frames) would render in about an hour. Antialiasing was turned off and the toon shading helps hide that.

PS: IPOs and lattices are your friends

  • No fooling their your friends. Lowering the detail, faster render, I see.

Now I'm wondering how many frames total...

  • it's really wonderful!! Did you use the Game Engine for the physics, like the falling sushi pieces?

  • nice work! I like

  • Cool! xd

  • pretty cool

  • awesome!u make me hungry thanks!

  • Awesome vid! For those of us who have heard of sushi but don't know how it is made, i.e.formed, is a brilliant way to learn!!:D

  • Very nicely done.

  • This animation rocks so hard.

  • this is great!

  • Cute! How long did this take you to make?

    And tuna-cucumber-avocado: good combination?

  • Yummy! and this animation is awsome! because it's 2 minutes longer than any other basic blender animations.

  • omg i hate sushi but i love this animation!!!!!

  • niicee! ^^

  • Great Job!

  • yum yum

  • Mmm...sushi...

    AHH!!! wasabi!

    LOL, good animation.

  • holy crap that was amazing!!!!!!!!!! 7/5!!! :D

  • how long did it take to make?!?

    P.S. NICE!!!

  • WOW!

  • I am very impressed!

  • this vid rocks!

  • very nice i hope to get there someday good job

  • lol

    /

  • awsome video!!

  • OMG now I want sushi :(

  • It's Awesome!!!

You made some marvelous Ura-Maki Sushis!!!

  • OMG raw tuna!!!!!!?????

  • how long it take you to do that?

  • good! but avocado could be more realistic. try to set it smooth.

  • LOL! Now this is A Truly Pro Style Video. The Nice Cartoon Rendering, the legth, the music, and the amount of effort put into it. Good job man!

  • nice great motions.

  • food!!!!That was soo good. Toon renders helped a lot!

  • im so hungry now

  • wow you're very expert with this work...I wont to do an animation too, but I'm not so expert

  • LOL! This is so cool! Well done!

You could make a program for that. The user inputs the recipe and it outputs the animation. How about it? If you do that, don't forget my royalties :P

  • wow great work - the only thing is u could'a smoothed the avacado before u render'd it - but great work - i wish i was this good...

  • WOW! it has the perfect music to go with it! it looks cartoony as well, it is PERFECT...and i love the living tuna slices!

  • great stuff

  • wow that was awesome, and I agree that this video doesnt need any fixing. It's great!

  • This is an awesome Blender animation. But next time, bump up the anti-aliasing a little.

  • i think it looks perfect without it...but that's just me.

  • good stuff....:D

  • Just amazing!!

  • Great idea for an animation, I liked the style, reminds me of the style of Wii games.

  • nice animation

  • Thanks again for the comments. Obviously I wasn't going for photorealism -- just for the linea clara style that I like (and which renders very quickly!) I am working on the life cycle of the monarch butterfly, but production has been delayed due to moving ... Oh, and I make sushi like this all the time. Made some yesterday with my son. Only I use my hands :-)

  • that was awesome. I have always wanted to know how this stuff was made and I found out in the most entertaining way.

  • I agree the cellshaded fractal look is the style of the animation. It isnt meant to look smooth and for a freaky little cartoon its pretty good

  • ^.^ Even though there's people telling you to smooth it out, I quite like the animation style of this! I think I'll make some sushi now! lol

  • nice hehehe

  • Lattices. genius! 5 stars!

  • Nect time please smooth in editmode.

  • very nice i wish i could be that good but of cource im really good at array modifiers:) check out my vids k!

  • 1ce uve rendered an animation how do u make it in2 a movie file?

  • Nice animation!

There can be found your own style in this animation and your "Trasportation" animation... I just don´t get what it is! :)

  • Thanks for the positive comments, folks. It's great to be able to share the stuff I do for fun. My next one is about monarch butterflies and should be done sometime in May. Viva Blender!

  • Great!!!

  • great, sure beats my animation,

  • maybe not the best modeling skillz ever but dude, ur great at animation o.o

  • cool animation,

  • That are California Roles not Maki Sushi o.0" Anyway - nice Animation. You forgot to Say "Put Sesam on the Rice" or something like that ^^
