Regarding the recent flap over Obama's "small town" comments, I wish that more people would concentrate on the intent behind someone's words, as opposed to merely focusing the words alone. Barack Obama tells the truth.
A lot of working people ARE bitter and frustrated, because they've been lied to again and again by politicians who promise them help but then only look out for the Fat Cats.
Barack Obama has seen this up close as a community organizer.
He's out to change things BIG. He's building a movement to take government back from the Fat Cats. That scares the Republications, the newly-rich Clintons, and John McCain to death.

I absolutely agree with Barack - Republicans HAVE distracted rural voters with gay marriage and flag burning while our country goes down the tubes, BUT STILL - I think its incredibly foolish for him to be bringing this out into the open before he's even won the Democratic nomination. Barack needs to worry about getting to the White House before he can start healing America.

I think the religion speaks for where he was and is. Immigration is not an issue? It isn't immigration, it is migration. Mexico is not poor. Let them take care of their own, not overburden our economy. If illegal is sanctioned, we don't need jails. These are your educational funds. 180K brains imported with more education than you. Think about it, 12 million in the lower grades and 180K above most. If this spread in middle class isn't in the wrong country, I don't know what is.

The Clinton campaign disects every syllable Obama says, then jumps all over him for telling the truth. I'm glad he explained himself and softened the statement. This is an example why people like him so much - he has a lot of integrity and compassion....and most importantly doesn't lie to the people of America.

He's here to change the way politics are done in Washington. It's so sad that the American people have to retrain their ears to hear the truth and accept it for what it is. Barack Obama is a very candid candidate. He challenges us to understand ourselves and each other, and he challenges himself to do the same. This is so refreshing at times, and painful at other times. We have had 16 years of being lied to by our leaders, and we don't know exactly how to react to an honest leader who admits his mistakes. I have faith that the American people will sift through the media circus and opponents' spin and rejoice in Barack Obama's candor.

When Senator Clinton said the following statements.....
"Senator Obama's comments are elitist and they are out of touch"
"They are not reflective of the values and beliefs of Americans"
It seems to me that she is trying to insinuate that;
Obama is 'other', un-American and therefore out of touch with what American's really think believe and feel etc.
This ties into other arguements made - both by her and republicans - that he is unpatriotic, different. They're more 'American' than he is.

The democratic party has been losing elections for the past 40 years because people stopped voting for their economic interest because it stopped making a difference. Barack speaks the truth here. If he can convince people to vote along their economic interest so that they can have jobs, health insurance and lower taxes for the middle and lower classes Barack can build a winning winnng coalition for a long time to come. Regarding the recent flap over Obama's "small town" comments, I wish that more people would concentrate on the intent behind someone's words, as opposed to merely focusing the words alone. Barack's original choice of words might not have been the best, but his intended message was right on the money!

I used to like him but now I'm get tired of his empty rhetoric. He comes off as Holier Than Thou. When he became Senator his wife got a 200% raise to $316,000/year from her hospital. They bought their house with a guy who is involved in political kickbacks. And him and his wife listened to Reverend Wright's racist rants for 20 years and now say "it's all out of context." I hear exactly what he said about working class folks in Pennsylvania and I think it's very condescending.

Why does Fox News always try to smear Barack? I only got in to politics last year because of Barack. This is my first time voting. But seriously, why do Fox News ALWAYS unfairly dissmiss him as unpatriotic? Hannity in particular.

You are bitter when the factory you worked in moves operations to Canada, Mexico and even to the Phillipines!...Unemployment in maufacturing secter and out-sourcing wages(usually below 80% of previous wages) is what we're left with....yes, USA needs a CHANGE!

I am a 63-year-old Caucasian male. We must "denounce and reject" every form or racism and sexism. I am "for" Barack Obama because I believe that he alone has the unique ability to bring Democrats, Republicans and Independents together to make positive changes and get things done in congress. Not only is Barack Obama's candidacy about making positive change in lifting all people to better achieve the American dream, but it is also about a new paradigm about how that change will be accomplished.
