Iran would sign a trade agreement with the United States in a heartbeat. Both economies would benefit. Oil prices are high because the Israeli lobby controls our foreign policy.
Iran has the natural resources and the United States has the technology to efficiently bring it to the market.
Iran's economy is dependent on exports, the U.S. requires low cost energy to fuel our economic growth.
"Who funds VoteVets?" Oh I would guess some scumbag like George Soros( Rothschild lapdog) or perhaps the anti USA anti western world Goldman Sachs jew casino. Your enemies are not in Iran,...not in Iraq,...not in Afghanistan,...no they are on our own soil.
Then why don't we just drill for oil in Alaska. America needs to completely withdraw all combat forces from Iraq and Afghanistan immediately. AIPAC and Zionists Jews control our foreign policy and they are heading us towards WWIII.
Dude, when the convoys run past your place regularly you don't need anyone to tell you where to place the roadside bombs, you know. In much of Iraq and Afghanistan (I have spent a year in both places) the road network is poorly developed so it's not like there are a lot of alternate routes to take to avoid a percieved danger area. Finding the convoy is easy.
Your argument is false and completely unsupported.
Please watch this video (The Video The USA Army Doesn't Want You To See) and send it to everyone you know. Think about what the one soldier is saying how they should have removed Sadam themselves. That is exactly what some Chinese and Russian troops will say about us if we dont stop this madness. This war is Illegal and over 1.2 million people are now dead from it.
Foreign oil is more profitable than domestic because more of the profits avoid US taxes. Republicans receive 89% of oil company political donations. The oil industry installed their own administration in 2000 and wrote their own policies to increase our dependence on foreign oil, including 800,000 new SUVs pushing energy independence far out of reach. We are now spending trillions to protect oil companies in the Middle East, in direct conflict with the best interests of the American people.
I'm all for more domestic drilling in the near term -- why don't we start by forcing the oil companies to drill on the thousands of acres of public land that they already have licenses for?
Ultimately however, there's no way we could possibly drill our way out of this problem. That's why we need to take back control of our own destiny by developing clean energy solutions right here in America.
Christanic terrorism. If the Christianic terrorists had not invaided an innocent country and raped, tortured, and murdered half a million innocent Iraqis, the people of Iraq would not be forced to defend their homes, families, and country from these Christanic terrorists.

I am a Veteran and I agree we need to become energy dependent. Funny thing is, Texas has enough oil to sustain us for 80 years. The fact is we have more oil than Saudi Arabia.
But the globalists and socialists want to force us to a green economy. Why ? So they can make billions on a false climate change fear.
Most veterans diagree with the approach advocated in this ad, and using patriotism to influence people's opionion is perfectly ok to do, but it doesn't mean it's right.
I grew up in Texas. Swam in the Gulf and then came home to wash oil off my skin and bathing suit. Pasadena is nicknamed Stinkadena because of refineries. Grow up and stop acting out towards the troops and polluting America. What kind of idiot pollutes the country they live on.
@livelovebe1970 . what kind of idiot would allow his country to go bankrupt, leave their children 100's of trillions of dollars in debt, witness the decline of his country from a super power to a 3rd world debtor nation, and then the audacity to respond to my respectful arguement by calling someone with an opposing view an idiot?
The idiot is the person who would rather see his country decline than to help keep her free and prosperous. Have a nice life, and don't reply. I am done with you.
I am a Veteran and I agree we need to become energy INdepenent. No, Texas doesn't have enough oil to sustain us for 80 years. It doesn't even have enough oil to keep us from borrowing Chinese money to pay for Arab oil
MOST veterans agree that we have to end the dependence on foreign oil. Just check out the American Legion website, where it is a key issue.
It's time to end foreign oil dependence in EVERY way we can.
@fuzzybekool Why should I trust your opinion about climate science instead of the many decades of research done by actual scientists, who agree nearly unanimously? Do you have an expertise that they lack?
@possibedrew - Do you read or just drink the kool-aid. One of Al Gore's contentions in "Inconvenient Truth". Polar bears are almost extinct. Right ?
"The Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that the polar bear population is currently at 20,000 to 25,000 bears, whereas in the 1950s and 1960s, estimates were as low as 5,000-10,000 bears. We currently have an estimated four or five times more polar bears than 50 years ago.
I can go on all night and debunk everything by using facts.
How do you explain the fact the ALGORE lost a case in England and his movie now has to been proven to have at least nine lies and has now has to be shown with a disclaimer??
The explanation is simple, there are not nine lies and the judge stated this explicitly by referring to the "errors" (quotation marks from judge). The judge referred to these as "errors" in quotations precisely to emphasize that, while these were points that could be contested, it was not clear that they were actually errors. The judge, Justice Burton found that "Al Gore's presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate".
The Judge puts -error- in quotes so he does not have to call Gore a liar. In each of the nine 'errors' he pretty much calls him a liar, in a politically correct way.
Yes, post all nine directly from the ruling not a synopsis but directly from the ruling, add or subtract no words or punctuation. You can find the ruling at:
Lie #4 "According to the IPCC, it is very unlikely that the Ocean Conveyor will shut down in the future, though it is considered likely that thermohaline circulation may slow down."
Lie #5 "Mr Gore shows two graphs relating to a period of 650,000 years,
one showing rise in CO2 and one showing rise in temperature, and asserts ...that they show an exact fit. Although there is general scientific agreement that there is a connection, the two graphs do not establish what Mr Gore asserts.
Lie #7 "The drying up of Lake Chad is used as a prime example of a catastrophic result of global warming. However, it is generally accepted that the evidence remains insufficient to establish such an attribution. It is apparently considered to be far more likely to result from other factors, such as population increase and over-grazing, and regional climate variability."
Lie #8 "Hurricane Katrina and the consequent devastation in New Orleans is ascribed to global warming. It is common ground that there is insufficient evidence to show that."
Lie #9 "The only scientific study that either side before me can find is one which indicates that four polar bears have recently been found drowned because of a stormit plainly does not support Mr Gores description."
"The actual scientific view, as recorded in the IPCC report, is that, if the temperature were to rise by 1-3 degrees Centigrade, there would be increased coral bleaching and widespread coral mortality, unless corals could adopt or acclimatise, but that separating the impacts of climate change-related stresses from other stresses, such as over-fishing and polluting, is difficult."
"However, in parts of the film, Gore presents evidence and arguments which do not accord with mainstream scientific opinion. This guidance points out, on a scene by scene basis, the areas where further input will be required from teaching staff. This guidance is designed to help teaching staff encourage their pupils to assess the validity and credibility of different information sources and explore different points of view so as to form their own opinions."

I think you forget the fact that the U.S has overthrown both of Iran's neighbors. The Persians have created a first rate terrorist apparatus, indeed, but your bull shit clean energy lobby is nothing based on reality... You want to get tough on Iran? Why don't you try allying with it? It would be a lot more reasonable than the fanatical Sunni monarchies the U.S. is currently with.
reducing independance on foreign oil would make it much less necessary to prop up corrupt foreign regimes. Oil dependance has completely controlled western (not just US) middle east policy since WWI
We have enough naturaal gas in USA to hold us over until we get SOLAR and BLOOM BOXES running all over USA we are 70 year behind Germany was Destroyed in 1940

$1.5 billion? That's it? That's the rationale to pass perhaps a trillion dollars in new energy taxes on the American people?
And how will Cap and Tax reduce global oil prices? Will it reduce Chinese demand? Will we burn the new tax dollars instead of coal in the plants which produce 60% of our electricity?
Pathetic ad, using our troops as a shill for radical environmental interests.
It won't reduce oil prices, that's pretty much the point. The decreased demand in the US will actually drive up the price globally, so if the US reduces its oil consumption that will increase the price and decrease the quantity supplied, much to the chagrin of the Middle East states.
The reality is that ten years from now very few people would actually be paying for those energy taxes. The whole point is to incentivize a switch to more environmentally responsible products and means.
@Teslastyle First, this argument goes against one of the basic principals of economics: as demand increase the price goes up, and vice versa. Second, the reality is we are paying more for our cheap oil now than most people realize. It appears cheap because it is heavily subsidized by the government- who gets its taxpayers. Do you want to pay for the gas that goes into somones Hummer?
@Teslastyle Also, the externalities of "cheap oil" are not being taken into account. Right now there is no price attached to polluting, despite the fact that its expensive. And were footing the bill in dirty air and water and the resulting medical bills.
You misunderstand my point. That is exactly the role of cap and trade to assign a cost to carbon. The point is that by forcing cap and trade you force people to move away from oil, thus decreasing demand.

What kind of idiot pollutes the country they live on.
livelovebe1970 1 year ago 5

Alternative fuels are much cheaper than blood.

@fuzzybekool Why should I trust your opinion about climate science instead of the many decades of research done by actual scientists, who agree nearly unanimously? Do you have an expertise that they lack?
possibledrew 1 year ago 3
@possibedrew - Do you read or just drink the kool-aid. One of Al Gore's contentions in "Inconvenient Truth". Polar bears are almost extinct. Right ?
"The Fish and Wildlife Service estimates that the polar bear population is currently at 20,000 to 25,000 bears, whereas in the 1950s and 1960s, estimates were as low as 5,000-10,000 bears. We currently have an estimated four or five times more polar bears than 50 years ago.
I can go on all night and debunk everything by using facts.

How do you explain that every 20 years or so all of the scientists go from proclaiming global warming to predictiing the next ice age?
RetSquid 1 year ago
@RetSquid
Could the explanation be that scientists DONT "go from proclaiming global warming to predicting" "the next ice age every 20 years or so".

How do you explain the fact the ALGORE lost a case in England and his movie now has to been proven to have at least nine lies and has now has to be shown with a disclaimer??
RetSquid 1 year ago
@RetSquid
The explanation is simple, there are not nine lies and the judge stated this explicitly by referring to the "errors" (quotation marks from judge). The judge referred to these as "errors" in quotations precisely to emphasize that, while these were points that could be contested, it was not clear that they were actually errors. The judge, Justice Burton found that "Al Gore's presentation of the causes and likely effects of climate change in the film was broadly accurate".
bjphysics 1 year ago 2
@bjphysics
You never read the Opinion, did you?
The Judge puts -error- in quotes so he does not have to call Gore a liar. In each of the nine 'errors' he pretty much calls him a liar, in a politically correct way.
Would you like me to post all nine of them here?
RetSquid 1 year ago
@RetSquid
Yes, post all nine directly from the ruling not a synopsis but directly from the ruling, add or subtract no words or punctuation. You can find the ruling at:

Lie #1: "it suggests that sea level rises of 7 metres might occur in the immediate future, is not in line with the scientific consensus."
Lie #2 "Mr Gore states thats why the citizens of these Pacific nations have all
had to evacuate to New Zealand. There is no evidence of any such evacuation having yet happened."
RetSquid 1 year ago
Lie #4 "According to the IPCC, it is very unlikely that the Ocean Conveyor will shut down in the future, though it is considered likely that thermohaline circulation may slow down."
Lie #5 "Mr Gore shows two graphs relating to a period of 650,000 years,
one showing rise in CO2 and one showing rise in temperature, and asserts ...that they show an exact fit. Although there is general scientific agreement that there is a connection, the two graphs do not establish what Mr Gore asserts.

@bjphysics
Lie #6 "It is common ground that, the scientific consensus is that it cannot
be established that the recession of snows on Mt Kilimanjaro is mainly attributable to human-induced climate change."
RetSquid 1 year ago
@bjphysics
RetSquid 1 year ago
@bjphysics
RetSquid 1 year ago
@bjphysics
I think I lost count of the lies...
RetSquid 1 year ago
@bjphysics

DefendGlenn 1 year ago

Do you want to pay for the gas that goes into somones Hummer?
erinosul 1 year ago
@Teslastyle Also, the externalities of "cheap oil" are not being taken into account. Right now there is no price attached to polluting, despite the fact that its expensive. And were footing the bill in dirty air and water and the resulting medical bills.
erinosul 1 year ago 4
You misunderstand my point. That is exactly the role of cap and trade to assign a cost to carbon. The point is that by forcing cap and trade you force people to move away from oil, thus decreasing demand.
