  • Thank you TheRiverdog 14 Isaw it a lo of times but I never pay attention of the name of the picture

  • Can tell me anyone what is the name of the western picture who apears Jack Palace?

  • @fveronful That is Shane (1953) directed by George Stevens

  • I thought Roger Waters would have a huge solo career and Pink Floyd would do nothing without him. I could not have been more wrong. I still prefer Waters solo over Fake Floyd. He never should have given up the Pink Floyd brand name. He still owns the rights to "The Wall". He is touring stadiums with The Wall this summer. I guess it is his last cash grab before retirement.

  • I can't stand Waters' voice. At least he almost always has background singers. Guitar is sick, too. Kudos for Eric Clapton.

  • I've always loved this song, and I had never seen this video until now, 2011. Cool Americana in this video...and the song has such cool lyrics, too. Roger Waters, you are a genius! Love everything you do.

  • this is all k.a.o.s. my frend

  • Pizza leprosa en casa de Richard Gere...

  • a song to go bananas to!

  • I've always LOVE his voice and especially on this album. He's like Jacques Brel, he lives what he sings. Roger, you're the greatest lyricist of all times. Roger is the greatest. Simply the best.

  • Why was THIS beautiful work Never made into a Movie ...?!>?

  • THIS SOLO WORK FROM ROGER, CAME TO ME WHEM I WAS VERY YOUNG AND HAD A STRONG IMPACT IN MY LIFE. I SINCE THAN WONDER IF THERE WAS A MOVIE ABOUT. IF SOME ONE KNOWS, LET ME KNOW. I HAVE TRANSLATED ALL THE MUSICS, BUT I WANT TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY TRANSLATION TO PORTUGUESE. THANK YOU.

  • como suena este tema!... con el dramatismo y ala vez la seduccion conmovedora del mejor Waters

Quien toca la guitarra ? y que efecto usa ??? TEMAZO !!!

  • Roger Waters, prophet? Listen to the music!!! All shows from Piper to Rodio and beyond!!!

  • @cssitb11 the man really is a genius don't you think?

  • This is my all time absolute fave album!!!!! thanks

  • Lonehorn..... it was "The Wall" tour !! He played Pros & Cons stuff on a few other tours!! By the way " "The Wall" was a fantastic show, thanks Roger and all the gang!!

  • Eric Clapton

  • thank you so much. it is the first time i was a video of my all time fav album

  • Go hitchhiking while wearing nothing but a backpack and I can guarantee you the pros outweigh the cons!

  • The last time I saw Roger when he came through Cleveland he play NO songs off of Pros and Cons...I was crushed. Not even one song...I couldnt believe it. I'm still not over it lol.

  • I saw this video on local music channel back in the day, the station is still around ... KQRS in Minnesota, the show? KQ ROCK TV!

  • "jump said yoko ono/'i'm to scared, to good looking i cryed!'"

lol roger knows he is hot! hmmm <3

    ALL MEN MUST DIEEEEEEEEE!

  • @hickey1366 The bitch says something mystical, so I jumped back on the curb again! hahaha It's amusing but only a slight rub on Yoko. PF were friendly with the Beatles since their Abbey Road days in the 60s. As for the Pros and Cons, Roger was asked WHAT are they on a Rockline interview, I think he shrugged any direct answr off, it's open to interpretation, the album was in 1984, and it was also inspired by radio based teleplays of his childhood, most of Rog's influence in fact!

  • @MetallicBill

i thought syd went out with yoko like back in the day...just heard this in a fourm like 5 years ago...i could be mistakin

  • @hickey1366 I don't know about Yoko's involvement with PF, but that sounds interesting, not too plausible perhaps. They did say that Syd had not problem being popular, and with woman of course, at the time he was not too medicated

  • @MetallicBill

i love people who are educated about floyd! it makes me happy!

    my new best friend!!!!

  • @hickey1366 For a diehard music fan like me, you'd be a fool to write off Pink Floyd, one of the greatest bands of all time, bar none!! I put UFO and PF at the top of my personal list, but Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, Stones, The Who, all awesome, I love so many good bands to be honest, that's just the top of the list

  • i agree with the exception of 'divison bell' daves voice is paramount

  • No doubt, Roger is the true voice of Pink Floyd...and Dave Gilmour is the guitar...All four (5) members of Pink Floyd are geniuses all by themselves; of this is there is no doubt...

  • @augerrat Roger is the founding Voice, but equal parts Gilmour AND RICHARD WRIGHT, lest we forget, the band is also Syd Barrett's songs and voice. The whole of PF past and present...as it stands

  • lindz drew got a great arse !

  • this my friends, this is music.im 41 years and even today i give orders to my dj to put this music in my bar and i have it bout 15 years

  • which is that movie shown in between????

  • @vibrantviren The movie is Shane

  • @doubleamoore thnx man

  • I love this song. Bought the album the other day, first solo Waters I've heard

  • I think this is Claptons finest studio work from the eighties and this is my favorite of Roger Waters solo albums.

  • thats kind of what happened to me when i hitchhiked last week...

  • @doctorwintercold Did Justin Beiber pick you up?

  • all man must dieeeeeeee.......

  • who plays the guitar in this song, this is the most wonderful play I've ever heard

  • @mazinm2006 It's Eric Clapton!

  • I just went back to when I was young :) I want to be young again !

  • Download the audio from this vid at soundnabber doht cohm.

  • By the way was Roger taking a dig at Yoko Ono?

  • damn it, she's wearing pants in this one.

  • 2:20 - this is how good Clapton CAN sound when he's not over-practicing to sound really slick!

  • roger's at his best, pink floyd or no ..to those who can''t keep up, too bad ..to those who think rappers fart is art ..o man

  • Those pop pap albums you listed in response to my worst-ever assertion are just easily forgettable and BLAND. Roger's album is downright OFFENSIVE, and is a great party gag to own--put it on when you have unsuspecting huge PF fans over who've never heard it and you'll be in tears from laughing by the end of "Sexual Revolution." It's the work of a megalomaniac writing a terrible, bombastic, over-the-top musical about a reeeeaaaaallllly stupid concept. The Wall was his last great achievement.

  • @thegreening I'm going to have to go ahead and reluctantly agree with everything you've said. When I first heard this album, I couldn't understand what the hell he was going for. It was from a very deeply entrenched world war II obsession to....well whatever the hell this was supposed to be.

I saw the live show in '85 and was impressed with that but never really appreciated this or anything much since.

Roger has brilliant moments but not enough weight or diversity to do solo albums.

  • @surfmcgoogler I have to agree that none of Water"s solo material tops anything he did with Pink Floyd but to say he does not have anything to offer as a solo artist is a bit harsh.... I suppose you could write a better album than Pros And Cons, can't wait to hear it!

  • Eric Clapton did all the solo guitar work on this album. I saw the tour in '85, was 'not' Clapton on the tour, least not in the U S.

For the others that think this is crap, they obviously have no clue what music is nor know what Roger is all about ( as a musical artist ) ... keep your negative comments to yourself and go watch something else.

  • This is a great song. But, like a great paragraph from a wonderful book, it loses it's meaning without the context. I don't like listening to this song, or anything from DSOTM or The Wall without listening to the whole album. This record, and those, are novels. Other artists put out short stories. Roger writes novels. I love this song, but without the rest of the album it's hard to justify.

  • Terrible. Sorry guys, but Pros & Cons is *the* WORST album the entire history of recorded music, bar none! Big fan of The Final Cut, Animals is my favorite Floyd record (WYWH and The Wall tied for close 2nd), but there's a REASON why Gilmour & co looked at Rog like he had lost his MIND when he offered them this OR The Wall to record. It was pretty freaking obvious which was better! The very definition of self parody. Rog & Dave needed each other; Division Bell/Amused To Death both just ok.

  • @thegreening yeah, but A Momentay Lapse Of Reason it's just sublime, and it was without waters... :)

  • @thegreening

The worst album in the entire history of recorded music??? Bar none? Serious? Worse than Justin Bieber's My World? Or Sylvia's Snapshot? That is such a strong statement! It means that you would rather listen to a Wing album than The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking?

  • When it comes to Roger's solo works,in order to fully appreciate them you need to turn all the lights off, close your eyes and then listen to them. Forget for a moment about the PF legal battles and concentrate on the concept, the music and the lyrics.Forget what if Gilmour wouldve played and not Clapton, etc.Let Sanborn's Sax pierce the darkness of the room and Roger's voice take you from one song to the next. If you like the wall you will like this one since the were composed around the same time

  • @gozaderadrfunk Exactly this record was supposed to be the record that was recoreded then but the rest of the band preferred the wall.

  • @gozaderadrfunk couldnt agree more

  • Did you understand the music, Yoko, or was it all in vain?

The bitch said something mystical...so I stepped back on the curb again...Whooo!!!

Maybe not Rog's best work, but fun, nonetheless.

  • it is eric clapton on guitar all th eway through this album he joined the bleeding heart band on the tour as well when they played it live in concert

i saw them live in 1985 in the u.k

  • HOW CAN THOSE 8 PEOPLE 'DISLIKE' THIS???

  • He may have written some great songs, but this and this whole record was utter "rubbish... nonsense from beginning to end", to use Water's own (mostly accurate) words on Division Bell...

Here, he sounds like he had been blowing Lindsay Buckingham for a few days on end before coming up with these songs. And frankly, Clapton, god love him, just has the ability to ruin songs with his pseudo rockabilly sound, especially during this era.

  • @Pillzbug: Maybe so, but it's a good chorus :)

  • @Pillzbug I disagree. this is a great song

  • rogr waters is a bad ass and he can fuck up anybody

  • E. Clapton laying down the licks, while R. Waters couldn't resist taking a dig at Yoko lol - great song!

  • @doggskull Is Eric Clapton on guitar here??

  • @matdelta1 .........I've never actually seen the credits on the album personally, but a reliable music buff friend of mine claims that it is common knowledge and it does sound like Clapton. Side note: David Gilmore plays guitar on Paul McCartney's "No More Lonely Nights", you should give it a listen too.

  • always a fascinating story

  • He is: 'THE VOICE'. No matter the music you make, you have to have 'the voice'. He is, and he always will be, the soul of Pink Floyd.

  • @oroedor

gilmore is "the voice" of pink floyd. arguably syd barrett, but rogers cant compete with either of them. a great singer yes, but in my opinion he should stay on the bass.

  • @oroedor Damn straight.

  • @oroedor Absolutely correct, man.

  • @oroedor I disagree. David Gilmour is just as important to Pink Floyd as Waters, some might say even more.

  • @MatthiasMex "...some might say even more." Those people are idiots.

  • @oroedor You my friend, are a MORON!

    Good day to you

  • @MatthiasMex Yes, my friend. Me and, at least, 18 others...

  • @oroedor

I deeply respect Roger and think only he gave Floyd the all important edge. But prior to Animals he wasn't the main singer at all.

  • @hayzeephantayzee then I really wonder who the main singer was :S Dave sang on the first part of Dogs, thats it. Roger on the other hand sang Pigs on the wing part 1 & 2, Second part of Dogs, Pigs ( three different ones) and Sheep.

  • @MrScorpions4ever

I know that. Maybe "prior" wasn't the correct word. I'm not native english. What I meant was that "before" Animals Roger wasn't the main singer.

  • @hayzeephantayzee well, on the albums before Animals, Wright, Gilmour and Waters sang around the same amount of songs. I did a little quick research and Waters and Wright sang on 13 songs, Gilmour on 16 songs, (Barrett on 11)... this is not 100 % fact, but about there... so if u think Waters "completely took over" after WYWH you are wrong. He's always been singing, even on the first album when Gilmour wasnt even in Pink Floyd.

btw,I love PF from the start till the end and Waters solos!

  • @MrScorpions4ever

I'm not wrong. Your research says the same thing as I do. They've all been singing but Waters pretty much took over with Animals. Only Dogs, a bunch on The Wall and Not Now John were sung by David afterwards.

  • @hayzeephantayzee correct, they all (except mason) been singing, so before animals it wasnt a main singer, but they all sang a lot.

  • @MrScorpions4ever Nick Mason did spoken word for the band at least three times, and sang on a Christmas release, around 1970 I believe, not generally released, but has been bootlegged

  • @oroedor Dang, that's actually well said. :)

  • @oroedor But David Gilmour sang most of the songs. just saying

  • Waters never had a knack for melody which is evidenced in his solo career. He needed his Floydian brothers to help put the perfect music to his great lyrics.

  • @jwild611 dont be silly, Pink Floyd was at its best when all the members were together, they all bounced of each other in their peek, Radio Kaos has some great melodies as does, we are not amused, though Jeff Beck did a better job on the guitar as opposed to crapton

  • @kpnutswales yes the members were at their best when together. That's basically what I said

  • @jwild611 no it isn't what you said! You said Waters had no nack for melody and then referred to his solo career, and was useless without his floyd brothers....who do you think wrote the Wall? Amused to Death is an incredible album as is Radio Kaos

His solo albums are full of charismatic Floydian melodies and there's not a glimmer of his Floyd brothers!

  • @kpnutswales First off don't tell me what I meant or said. By that statement I heavily implied that Waters needed the other guys to flesh out his ideas which in turn means the band were at their best putting their heads together. And Water's wrote the story of the wall however w/o Gilmour or Erzin it wouldn't have been the same by a long shot. The Final Cut is more in the area you're talking about and by all accounts it has weak melodies and a predicable lyrical flow.

  • @jwild611 why you shit, what you gonna do? you ran the \waters down, no hiding from it...You're refering to Pink Floyd, however this thread features Roger Waters, if you don't like him don't watch, simple as, and leave him alone.

  • @kpnutswales Of course I love Roger...but I of course don't think he's perfection

  • Claptons playing on this record was wicked good, bloody fantastic!!! His strat and the tone is perfection. I love this album.

  • wow that is crap -- i knew whyy i never bought that record, even worse than KAOS

  • Clapton at his best on this Album.......

  • Roger waters was the madness that pink floyd needed, all his solo albums are total quality

  • For Floyd fans that haven't yet heard any of Rogers albums after Floyd, please listen to them. I know some people who won't listen cause they blame Roger for being a jerk in the last years of the Floyd. I really feel Roger has redeemed himself in the eyes of Gilmour, Mason and Wright. Now it's up to you as a Floyd fan to let the past be the past and remember that Roger IS Pink Floyd. All your favourites are from his mind. I can't wait to see him live at the Wall concert!

  • @RupertDCD27 After Floyd waters just got better & better..

  • @RupertDCD27 Agreed. Amused to Death is probably my favourite of all the solo Floydmen albums

  • did you understand the music, Yoko, or was it all in vain? Frickin genius, Claptons finest hour to boot.

  • is really nice album I love clapton perfec katie kisson great doreen chanter wonderful voice roger the best

  • Great work, maybe RW's best. Too bad he decided theater was more important than the music in later times. But you still get this tune in your head and find yourself singing the chorus for no good reason...it's just that cool!

  • Great video. There's a lot of comedy here, mixed with serious subject matter. Great visuals.

  • This is my fav Waters album.

  • Roger has great songs and a great voice, but the man has no sense of how to make a video! This is good because he's not really featured in it. Radio Waves, on the other hand...great song - but the video is so lacking. If the videos to ALL his work contained no acting from him, they'd all be good, just as his songs are. This is a rather watchable video because it doesn't have Roger pretending to be on Broadway and acting thru it. Brilliant song & album, by the way!!!

  • @kincaide67

Ahh but Waters always (even with Floyd) tried to downplay image. It was about the music not seeing their faces or any of that. And that is theatre in Rogers way of doing things. That was the idea of The Wall. We are all separated by walls of some kind. Either money or status or sexuality or race, religion, creed, beliefs. And he in his heart really wants us all to tear those walls down. In an interview he praises the internet in hopes it will brings us all closer. : )

  • @RupertDCD27 Yes, I see what you're saying. And good point. It is better to listen to the music and lyrics FOR the music & lyrics rather than the face of the performer. I totally understand. And I shouldn't put the fault on Roger if this particular video is lacking. I've seen more recent ones and they're good. I guess it's the style of the 80s videos that marks this one. Thanx for the input. Take care.

  • Fuck you wankers. This album is so totally worth it for 2 genius songs alone - this one and 5:15 - Every Strangers Eyes. Gilmour, love 'im, was clearly not needed on these two.

  • That looks like Roger Water's son at 3:50 - 3:54

  • what a great song !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Pizza leprosa en casa Richard Gere" XD

  • @Helicon2112 That is because Dave has a much better voice. Roger was used to having a great guitarist to save him when his lyrics weren't up to par for Flyoyd. So, on this album he got Clapton.

  • Comment removed

  • @Helicon2112 if you think robert plants voice has gone i've found the perfect replacement the lead singer of wolfmother i was listening to them the other day and forgot who i was listening too and i thought led zep had made some new tracks

  • Comment removed

  • @Helicon2112 david voice is way better and still strong

  • @Helicon2112 I totaly agree man....hes really nothig with out waters...but this album has some great guitar...just would have been better with Gilmour..way better..

  • Comment removed

  • @5tonyvvvv I once read an article that said Waters couldn't find a guitarist he liked. He settled on Clapton for this album. Settled for should be the ultimate compliment to David Gilmour.

Waters and Gilmour were the ultimate duet. It is a shame they couldn't put there differences aside. Floyd put out two great albums without Waters. Imagine how good they would have been with him.

  • I can think of better things to trip to, like fresh air, nature, the serenity of a remote billabong where the barra are biting, but if your jollies are from locking yourself in your room and playing old Roger water Albums to yourself, whatever turns you on! harleys are such an over rated bike, give me a big Yamaha any day, better handling, faster and much better sound, more cultured less aggro.

  • from my favorite album of all time

  • hu da fuck as voted 7 down this song is amence

  • its funny wen i was 16 /18 i realy understood the lyrics of a song (pink floyyd /bowie / sabbath, oh yes i realy thought they kwew bout demons //drugs / war wen i was 30 ish i realised that mabe ,just mabe they were ther to make money (and rightly so there all talented) im a lot older now mabe not wiser but at least now i can enjoy the music for wot it is , people communcating wot was in there minds , thats gud enuff for me people

  • Comment removed

  • Nice but I prefer Pink Floyd...

  • so true he needs gilmour...the sound is just not there..waters was a jerk for leaving, greed money ego and control.what an asshole

  • @5tonyvvvv

Interesting - But wasnt Waters diagnosed with Megalomania?m (A mental condition of grandeour, wealth, and money?

  • i totally agree not the same with out gilmour

  • A great album- Roger Waters, Eric Clapton, David Sanborn, and Michael Kamen. The concert was even better. Saw this two nights in a row at Nassau Colosseum. The first hour was all Pink Floyd songs. Now I love David Gilmour, but... let's just say it was an incredible experience

  • wow...i love this song but had no idea there was a music video...

  • lol !

  • Have a nice day, hehe

  • super

    5*

    all the best

    Kean

  • CLAPTON = GOD

  • @kidblink11 dont be daft listen to Jeff beck on Amused to Death

  • OOPS!!! I meant to put @stewalstr

  • Trop puissant!

  • cant get any better on acid

  • This song and video is fucking crazy man!!!! LOL!!! I know what you're saying!!!!!

  • @stewalstr I peaked on 6 trips listening to this ..the bed i was laying on was a liquid harley.. I had a women made out of cut diamond emmerge and then dance into a million fractals.. all around the air was radiating streams of colour that weaved itself into a sereal landscape ....And thats just the bit that I can remember .

  • Dude, really? Nobody could give two shits about you taking acid or eating shrooms or whatever. Save that shit for yourself.

  • Screw you, loser. I think it's a great story. When have YOU ever seen that shit happen?

  • Lulz.

  • @microchipmonk NICE RANT COOL TIMES

  • @microchipmonk Oh Sweet Jesus!!!!....all of that from a quart of cheap gin and some hinky grass rolled up in yesterday's copy of the LA Times.......phuuuuck I should be so lucky!!!....all I get is quivering buttocks from a couple of Colt 45's and a parking ticket written by a morbidly obese Afro-African-American Starbucks Queen......

  • @microchipmonk lots of acid?

  • what is about waters that makes him so amzing ,his music haunts me at times echoes for ever in my dreams

  • Great song! I've seen Roger Waters live in Ahoy Rotterdam Holland. What a fantastic concert! I hope someone will post parts of that concert!

  • Had no idea they made a video for this! Probably got aired once, nobody saw it and got thrown into some dusty archive to sit for all eternity. Youtube to the rescue! Thought this was an amazing album. Too bad and quite ironic that the cd cover is still censored to this day, in light of the fact that the original album cover was not and all the sexuality on cd covers today that is permitted. Can't have a woman's bare bottom on the cover for all to see now, can we?

  • @hawkhandsaw

I have the original uncensored LP and CD cover...

  • timeless classic

    amazing album

im not a huge clapton fan, but he nails it here !

  • Exactly. Now that is class. Not being a fan, but recognising a fucking brilliant guitar performance when you hear it

  • God damn, Roger. Why do you have to be such a fucking genius?

  • The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking roger waters & eric clapton genial

  • jealus of what....roger waters is pink floyd. That is why he this is so great, is just him...to bad it didint last more than an album, but this album is right next to the wall dude...

  • Niice one! :0

  • Fukkin magic!!!

  • this will never leave the mind

  • Greatest album from Roger, loved sine the 80's, thanks Roger !!

  • such a good album nobody ever heard

  • its farkn great to hear this song again.. yea rock on :)

  • just what the hell is going on? I don't know. and I am a younger Floyd fan, and I'm not jealous at all. good tune though, but who gives a good goddamn about Clapton? Really wake up people, he is not all that good. Gilmour honestly blows him away, just listen.

  • amazing

  • great clapton guitar solo
