@hondaciviccoupe10 this car is loads better than any of the new range will be, its a shame :( i really hope the owners sell lotus, they are ruining the brand
I'm a little bit confusted on the price, I've seen Evora's that were priced at around 67,000USD. That's way cheaper than the price he's saying. Maybe it was just a typo on the dealers website?
@PD19954 First an foremost your a loser.....now that that's out the way lets move on to the next...your not an artist your a consumer...now lets get into the real good part....cars like these were made for people like you...those that will take anything with a good label..Rice boy?...I have a SS chevy camaro and a Porsche Cayman R so what in the world are you calling Rice?...Your not even educated enough to understand different music..and by the way Metallica is in my car. Your a weak consumer!
@tim23tom23 im a loser says the person who says that a car is not fast or cant perform well because it has a toyota engine... good label? i dont give two shits of the label if it performs well, i love it. and not an artist eh? yeah, ive just been painting, drawing etc. for only oh 20 years... who in the world am i calling rice? you, because it doesnt matter what you drive it has to do with your mentality. and metallica eh? listen kid, st anger is not REAL metallica, master of puppets is.
@PD19954 I have a right to my opinion. LOSERS make trouble for no reason... YOU started something but your mistake was that I'm not backing down from your ignorance.. I'm not your Rice Boy chump.. You guys kill me with the internet gangsta talk. I'm in the field helping society while your not..trolling about a CAR? That you won't/can't buy? Really? This world is hard enough I don't need politics behind sports cars..but that topic will go way over your head... Lotus is pulling a fast one..ON YOU!
@PD19954 Here's some schooling for you...you ever wondered why they would put back seats in a sports car?........ I'll tell you because it puts the car in a different bracket of competition, insurance and standards...Lotus knew that nobody would be comfortable in the back seat, but they made it anyway. Can it handle? Very much so, however Lotus failed aiming to please everyone....Even Lotus agrees with me therefore my opinion beats yours because Lotus is changing Evora....GAME OVER I WIN! Loser
@tim23tom23 what you said made absolutly no fucking sense back seats becaus of competion wtf?! wow good one moron. and it pleased everyone BUT rice boys like you
@PD19954 I don't think your fat ass mother would be able to sit in the back anyways..LOL...trying to hold on to hope..LOL...spend the extra 5,000 and get a true sports car and not some transvestite body, plastic toy interior, Toyota engine nonsense.....Every car company tries to push a fast one every now and then (if you knew anything about statistics math and demographic consumer curve we could have this conversation, but you just a trolling dude with pimples and nothing else better to do. HA!
@tim23tom23 ooh mom jokes, aww the whittle rice boy is trying to be witty how cute.
and a true sports car, again i own a supra, how is that not a true sports car? oh right in your mentality aka rice, its a toyota...
every car company tries to push a fast one every now and then.. strange how toyota has done it since 1969 fucking rice boy. and math and stats has nothing to do with it other than actual reserch kid.
toyota has no business in a british car. at least gm has a british marque, and lotus designed the LT5 in the 1990 ZR1. Lotus will have their own engines soon.
Lotus got their suspensions right...great ride AND handling. The chassis can handle so much more power. It can handle 600 hp.
the Cayman a 'real' Porsche because it's not based off the Hitler-designed Volkswagen Beetle? Porsche won't put more powerful engines in the Cayman because it's a BETTER chassis than the 911.
With that price tag I think I would have to go with the GTR... I mean I like both and probably will never own one lol but come on. The Nissan takes the cake
These are really holding their value, if you want a used car, I've got to say that if I had £5o-55k in my pocket, there are so many nearly new cars which would compete for my attention. Although I am a massive Lotus fan and I think this car is great, just so expensive...
I love how many people a hating on the motor because it's a Toyota V6. For one the motor is proven and will last. Why throw a high displacement V8 when a lightweight and high revving V6 will do the job as good and get better mileage.
@Shawn041 V6s ROCK like hell and toyota's engine ROCKS like hell, too. It is way lighter then a conventional supercar. It is more practical, too. Quieter as well
@ChristewieTV Porsche is faster, better build, better reliability, better sound, cheaper and looks is a strict personal thing. I would probably buy a second hand Corvette Z06 :D
@anthony9325 I have not owned both cars, I am going by what I know. I made that judgement based on many reasons. Porsche is known for their build quality and fit and finish and Lotus is not, they are known for light cars with small engines and surprisingly fast cars. I have seen MANY of old Porsche's still driving. I know someone whose father has a boxter and she said that the car gives no problems. I knew someone who has an espirit and it was not very reliable.
I hate to say this but with the unveiling of the 5 new models at the paris motor show, I am thinking that the Evora is the last true and proper form of a Lotus we will ever know.. I cant wait to get this car. I WILL have one in 3 yrs or less, oh yes I will.
as an owner of a Exige S with 241bhp I found the first Evora incredibly lacking in terms of power. This Evora S should have been the first Evora, and then follow by a 400bhp+ version. What's so difficult pumping out 400bhp+ from a Toyota 3.5liter engine when Exige cup 260 is already outputting at 144.5bhp/liter?
I hate to say this but it's about selling a version at a time to rack up a product's total volume. I am very sure they will have a super supercharged version rated at 450bhp later.
@golferchin76 the evora s is already the supercharged version...but i agree with u, the evora could take more power, but the question is: does it need it?...i mean...why? why more? why go all american with this car? if u want power buy urself a 911 or for the same price a nissan gtr...lotus buyers are lotus buyers because of what they are, and not ´because of the numbers the engine produces...the evora 280hp can already keep up on track with gallardos and shit, imagine the evoraS!!! no need more
@Driftuner I don't know, I missed the local Evora test drive when it was first introduced, so I do not know exactly how it feels to drive an Evora. I just know, every magazine went crazy for its handling. Now the S gives the car some power boost. But as a Lotus enthusiast I like to see this car go from 0-100km at low 4 seconds, not 4.8. The reviewer compared it to "cayman". Come on, cayman is a little Boxster.
But in anyway, there are aftermarket parts that can give you more hp.
@golferchin76 I think what they are going for is a longer-lasting engine rather than a short-term one. Racing engines are different from street-based engines. I've seen even 1000+bhp pumped from Toyota 3S-G, but it doesn't mean it's a good idea for daily driving.
I have driven the Lotus Evora a lot. It is truely incredible. I first thought it was ugly, until I saw in front of me. Videos and pictures don't do it justice. I would definately take this car over a Porsche 911. First off this is an exotic and everyone has a 911. The Lotus is a drivers car. When you have this car, you constantly just look up the best roads on Google maps to drive on. Join the crowd if you want a Porsche, join the world of perfect driver to car connection if you want a lotus.
If you’re in the market for a £60k mid-engined sports car and are only interested in driving the very best. Even amid the bubbling excitement of what’s to come at Lotus, the Evora S is a stand out car right now, a stroke of rare genius.
And if you’re wondering then the answer’s yes; I’d have one over a Cayman any day
Evora is awesome, but I'll wait for the Elan to be re-released in 2015, will have enough time to rack up the $100k+ for it.
