The first scene of this movie always makes me cry, so well done with the timing and the music. I will forgive them butt raping physics just for that scene. But honestly...the super nova that was going to destroy the galaxy? Escaping the black hole that way? RED MATTER? Ah well. But scifi movies really should consult with a physicist first. It doesn't need to be possible, just not idiotic.
The emotion, sacrifice and love is griping and thick. I can almost FEEL how Kirk's mom felt when her husband died.I cried again and again because it's beautiful. The sarifice of a father, a husband and as man it's--it's heartbreking.
Agreed to all. This film, scene and score are all *adds lens flare* amazing! The CG is some of the best *adds lens flare* in cinema. The story was funny, action packed, *adds manual camera shake* and engaging. The characters were *adds lens flare* well done and they are what I envisioned younger versions of *adds lens flare* the original cast to look like *adds manual camera shake*. But does anyone *adds lens flare* agree that *adds lens flare* Aabrams overdid some things *adds lens flare*?
i almost cry everytime i watch the first part on star trek.this song also makes me think of this really bad thing that happened to me when i was a kid.
Well that's not fair to the Original trilogy. Luke finding out he's Vader's son in Empire, Luke whaling on Vader in Jedi. Those were great and memorable scenes with tons of emotion.
@sakuraXkimono dude, i DID cry! D'''': I've seen the film four times now, and every time i've watched it, i've been literally in floods of tears. oh my god, i'm crying now just listening to it. SO BEAUTIFUL :'D
@TheWuzzy OMG, I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch this movie-- without fail!! I don't even have to be watching it...it could just be on and I start to tear up!! I agree 10000% :D
one of the best, if not thee best soundtrack to a film this year! It should for sure, be nominated for best original score at the oscars and baftas, and best film just for the opening 12 minutes documenting the destruction of the kelvin. A MASTERPIECE OF CINEMA!
who thought of LOST like i did :)

Someday, if I ever find myself being sacrificed for the life of my wife and child in a battle, I want this playing through my mind.

George Kirk: What are we going to call him?
Winona Kirk: We could name him after your father.
George Kirk: Tiberius? You kidding me? No, that's the worst. Let's name him after your dad. Let's call him Jim.
Winona Kirk: Jim. OK, Jim it is.
George Kirk: Sweetheart, can you hear me?
Winona Kirk: I hear you.
George Kirk: I love you so much. I love you.

This music is so beautiful I love how they just muffled the sounds of the movie and let the music play, it makes it such an emotional scene.

Yea. Easily the best intro to any movie, ever. Knot in my throat. Insanely awesome. So dramatic, heroic, visual eye candy.

This piece of music is one of the best soundtrack I've ever heard. It lies between next to my Lord of the ring soundtrack. MAGIC! :)

Star Trek had more emotion in first ten minutes of the movie then Star Wars had in all 6 movies combined

@Dalbert342 Considering this was a re-creation. If they could re-create star wars the same way....itd be way different
ksuman2791 3 months ago
@ksuman2791 They recreated the Star Wars universe though and we saw how that went.
