Ive adopted a habit to show respect. Thanking someone from my heart or apologising sinsearly, I put my hand over my heart, or like you, my joined hands in front of my face, and I bow. You have reminded me today, importantly, that showing respect to people, my gestures, my change to a softer voice, shows I honor our relationship, and in a way ,like you mentioned, I apreciate them. achknowlege the "RANK' I have for them personally. ITs valuable. Oborogin-san, Thanks, I had a hard week myself.
Thank you. Very well said. Some times its true, I am required by the circumstances to apologise or offer thanks ( YES YES YES ) and yeah, I hope it can be really from my heart but sometimes I must say what is required to a superior perhaps, and my heart is at a safe distans, I hope. So I think I understand where you're comming from. Hey, I'm watching this vid again, I notice the music, I didnt hear it befor. You're listening to AC/DC. ( yes ?)... Ganbatte Kudasai, Thankyou, Chris
Haha that's funny, I notice when people do that too. They talk a certain way and when they get on the phone, they sound completely different! One of the things that I love about the Japanese culture is how you bow. I think that's really cool ^_^
Hmmm I can't think of any habbits I have off the top of my head.. I'll be thinking about it today though, I'm sure I'm gonna notice something that I do haha!
Hehe, that's a good point. When Japanese say yes every few seconds, I used to find it very distracting. And when they would talk to me and I wouldn't react, they would ask me if I was listening... Actually, I think Japanese has lots of cool little gestures I use in English now - my favorite one is when you kind of chop your hand in the air you do for "domo" when saying hello, or apologising before sitting down or cutting through people in a crowd.

Thank you so much for your comment buddy!
As you mentioned, showing appreciation and apologizing by gesture is one of important thing, I think.
I would like to show my honest heart to everyone always.
But, after getting old we tend to forget or hesitate to show it.
I hope that I can be honest as much as I can.
Have a good one!!
