Ever since buying this record 6-7 years ago I've absolutely loved this song, and every single time I listen to it, I get thrilled! It makes me wanna rock, it makes me wanna dance, it makes me want to meet people!
Before someone gets upset, let me clarify that Break on Through and Hey Joe were 2 examples of songs that fell through the cracks.I did not mean that It's a Happening Thing was better than those two.I love all 3 songs. Thanks
I meant that songs that weren't as good charted higher than this one did.A couple examples of songs like this are Break on Through by the Doors and Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix, both songs which didn't crack the top 100,but people are familiar with now,40 years later. I would imagine regional airplay had alot to do with it.In California this probably did better, because that's where they were from like the Seeds. On the west coast ,an east coast group like the Remains probably had a tough time.
Brings back memories - PBC played my 9th grade graduation dance, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band played my Sophomore Sweetheart dance in HS. Growing up in southern California during the '60s had its perks!
@doglips1958 That implies that people should have been forced to buy the single, whether they wanted to or not... Or did you mean "it should have gotten more airplay"?
Totally freakin MOD!

Takes me back to the very first solid sounds my young ears were exposed
to in nearby exotic, darkly lit, poster-walled
record shops frequented by fringe-jacketed youth. Byrds, Raiders, Big Brother, etc...

Hey Hawk, Good play! I'm still looking for someone to post the PBC's version of "Second Hand Man". That one has special memories for me.
