Also, all those games before PM were more cannon than Paper mario, and you could play as luigi on them. Also, Paper mario was developed by Intelligent Systems, an internal team of Nintendo. Paper Mario was fun though, but this theory doesn't make sense. Besides, Paper Mario was originally 8/11/00 before it reached US. Also, English is an international language and it is widely used in Japan.

I saw a drawing of a hand giving the finger on TLOZ:TP in one of the buildings in Kakariko. Does that mean Nintendo has plans for a future game related to that. Also, games like Mario Party, Mario Golf, Mario Kart and super smash bros were released a few years before Paper Mario. And you could play as Luigi on all of those. Paper Mario was the last N64 game to feature Luigi. I really hope you aren't serious with this theory, that isn't even a logical way to write a year.

BUTTTT, it has a high res texture and displays some hylian/wapanese letters. But I just want to say that there is a program, toads tool, and if you go to the texture editor and find the texture of mario's hat, then go to the value and type in "L is real", and then save the texture to the rom. Then go to the emulator and play the rom, Mario is replaced with Luigi. He even jumps higher than Mario, and sounds like him too.

the release date for Paper Mario was February 5 2001, Luigi was supposed to be in super Mario 64 on a two player setting, but the idea was scrapped along with Luigi. Nobody knows for sure why the plaque says that, but since the message is also in Ocarina of Time we can assume it's not related to the actual game. It could mean anything.

The text is the same in the Japanese version of the game, and Paper Mario was released on a different date there.
