  • absolutely terrible sound quality.

brilliant,. if a track stands out in such dismal production, then it must be great.

    "must clean my vinyl"

  • I was at the Weeley Festival in 71 as an 18 year old - I soon realised that Prog music was not for me after being bored out of my mind by VDG's set - sorry.

T Rex and the Faces were amazing though.

  • Music misses bands with the sheer awesome power and energy of Van der Graaf. Love it or hate it you know you're alive when you're exposed to Hammill and Co.

  • Great performance! Claudio

  • thanks professoricon this is my sunday morning music. The final man is very small

    And then he said:

    'Every step appears to be

the unavoidable consequence of the preceding one,

and in the end there beckons more and more clearly

    total annihilation'

  • @cazzimiei:

    every step ...

  • praise you for putting this on ... this is god head !! "ruuuu-shes over all" this is my favorite van der graff track .

  • I hope my special effects made you smile - the rain and lightning (or are they a bit cheesey?).

  • Thanks for posting. Were you at Weeley? What was the start time and end time of the Van der Graaf Generator Gig? Are you sure they played on the 28th August? The advertised set list was changed drastically over the weekend.

  • Please see my oher videos. They include a two-part audio montage of the VDGG at Weely CD, when the announcer states "This is the last band but one", so they were on right near the end. I'm sure you will remember the announcer when you hear it.

  • Thanks professoricon. I do remember, very well, the announcer. Amongst everything else, he was frequently calling out messages for people to go and collect their friends from the 'release tent'. What a wild week-end that was. If Van Der Graaf Generator were the last but one band, then they must have played their set on Monday morning, the 30th August 1971. Was the last band called Stray?

  • I'm not sure who was last, but Stray were a great band. Guitarist Del Bromham is still gigging and regularly plays in my local area so must live nearby.
