Hes done great things in Montrose as a solo artist then 11 years with EVH brought them to multi-Platinum status Cabo Wabo Tequila and now Chicken foot .. such a down to earth and humble individual . Musical pundits, gotta Love'em..... Not!!! People that analyze Music are usually bitter musicians that never got past busking on the streets. To me it's like any other art form, totally subjective to opinion. One mans garbage is another mans gold.
To me on attitude alone, these guys shine. I'm not going to compare these guys to anyone else because their previous work speaks for themselves. This is Chicken Foot not Van Halen not Montrose nor is it a Satriani solo project.

These guys dont have to explain their music making to anyone. There are so many reasons why I love Chickenfoot, The biggest reason is these guys just love to jam. Its sad to see people bashing them for doing what they love to do. These guys brought their own special talents to this project and I am glad they got together. Music is about personal taste. I dont like Lima Beans but you dont see me lauching some long winded diatribe on why I dont like them. Chill out yall!!

I just think these songs sound so generic. Just blah; nothing new at all. They could be any "pop" band from the past 30yrs. The van halen musicianship is much higher (especially post-DLR)

Personality wise Eddie is in dire need of one, I was at WSHE in Ft Lauderdale when they were on air doing an interview and the guy is totally stuck on himself. For years and years I hear the whining, see the handwringing and endure the complaints of dill-weeds that pine away for the old school, kick-ass-pure rock. Then, some mighty veterans show up with heaping serving on a silver platter and the dill weeds come out of the woodwork to tear it down. They over-analyze it and and carry on like a bunch of music-snob-dicks gunning Chickenfoot to pieces. Just go blow it out your barracks bags. Enough! Chickenfoot kicks ass and they're great.

Sorry to tell ya but even though this band is filled with awesome talent, the main draw for most fans is Hagar. If you think Sammy sucks then don't listen to them bonehead. Can't stand people who think they are some kind of rock n roll purists, and that Sammy ruined Van Halen. They sold far more albums with sammy than they did with Roth.... I guess the fans spoke... Personally I liked them with both... But if Van Halen was ruined, it was Van halen that ruined themselves.

It's helping Satriani's career at the expense of his musicianship; I'd say the same for Chad Smith. I'd rather listen to his Bombastic Meatbats than Chickenfoot anyday. I'm surprised that either Chad or Joe would be a part of this. I mean, there's been worse, but this is mediocre to say the least; especially after seeing what they have done and can do. It doesn't matter if Hagar/Anthony were there. It's the finished product I'm looking at, and it's not good 4 Smith/Satriani.
