  • I purchased my car over a year ago, and it's had scratches all through the clear coat where its been through a car wash.. They arent swirl marks.. But what would you recommend to get rid of them?

  • @MrJaidoo That depends on how deep they are. If they're light scratches, then you should be able to remove it with this product or some other scratch remover product. If it's kind of in between, then you'll probably have to use sandpaper and some polisher, but if it's really deep, you're going to need some touch up paint.

  • you guys should put some of this in your waxes .. i dont like waxing for hours then doing this on top of it lol

  • NOW do you need to hold the bottle up to where ur buffing for better results ?

  • @zoltec88 no, but it doesn't hurt for vids. ;)

  • Whats the durability of the new finish? Does it last? Or do the scratches return after a couple of washes?

  • @benjamiy831 the scratches should stay away

  • Hi, I heard this product can remove a light scratch on a Macbook Pro Unibody (aluminum finish). Is this true? Please advise your honest feedback. Thanks.

  • @joonhrhee it was not made for that purpose but we have heard about it being used that way even though we never intended for that purpose. :)

  • is this permanent?

  • @93bradley yes

  • @meguiarsasia I cant believe!!! how much is it?

  • @TheAndyyy87 depends on where in the world u are....please check your local website for pricing.

  • Would one 207ml container of this be enough to do an entire car (UK Ford Focus) or would you recommend another product? I want to get rid of v.light swirl scratches.

  • @dfb21 I have a Dodge Durango, and the same bottle he used in the video (not sure if that's the 207ml one) and I had enough to do my whole car, and I still have a little less than half a bottle, and it wasn't even full when I got it.

  • Can i juse this om my Motorcycle?? on paintede plastic??

  • @jerrhan sure for light scratches...if your finger-nail gets stuck in the scratch, it is too deep for this product

  • @meguiarsasia do i have to polishe the paint afterwards?

  • @jerrhan polish and protect afterwards

  • can you use this on glossy laptop lids? ive got a shallow scratch which i want fixed... and i only got the laptop brand new yesterday...

  • @kengaisgod sure! :D

  • @meguiarsasia hi,can i use meguiars scratch x in the PLASTIC(black color) bumper of my car to remove a little scratch?or it is used only in the main body of the car?thanx in advance

  • @Ultrasongoku its only for the paint

  • i always woder how scratches even get under the door handle, from fingernails or what?

  • @trongie yes that, also bad washing with dirty tools and or water

  • @trongie yep... the nails... :O

  • @trongie or keys..

  • it actually works for other scratches as well. Some of the big scratches are hidden as soon as it is applied. the whiteness is reduced, thus hiding the scratch. Good stuff

  • is this product nice to have it on the whole vehicle just for polishing or/and removing small scratches?

    thanks

  • @mastergtheone scratchx 2.0 is best for small scratches and small spots....ultimate compound and swirlx are for the whole vehicle

  • nicely done came out so nice ..thats where u get most of the sratches

  • Is this possible for a semi deep scratch? Someone keyed my car :( LOL

  • @xSkyIine no its for light defects

  • hah,got you!That`s what she said...

  • If it is glass, then plastx won't work, if it's plastic then it should be good to go

  • I went to the car wash, and I notice the brusher kind of left some blemishes on the hood of my car. In other words, its like a sandpaper being sanded on the hood of my car.

Will this Scratch X 2.0 remove the blemishes?

  • @exsssss try this for small spots or ultimate compound for large areas.

  • I have two vehicles and they both are have multiple scrathes that are small and big will the meguiars product work

  • @bnbnh8 It depends, The scratch would be to deep to remove safely if it catches your nail when you go over it. Try Scratch X or Ultimate compound if that doesn't work

  • *THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT* Does It Work On Iphone Screen? To remove Scratchs?

Please i hope you answer As Soon As Possible, Use Message or My channel, Please THIS IS IMPORTANT for me and other guys who use iphone.

  • @TheRSFans no, but you can use plastx

  • @meguiarsasia No you can't. iPhone screen is glass.

  • @TheRSFans I didnt know Maguiars makes products for phones now

  • do you have to use the application pad to apply it? or can you use a microfibre cloth which is polyester?

  • Just tried ScratchX 2.0 on my 14 y.o BMW Z3. The effect is not as* kicking, but it does eliminate some scratches. I had an awfully scratched spot near the door, and the thing made it disappear almost completely. It does require a lot of work, though. I then wiped my swirls with ScratchX almost to death, but noone would really say that the spot i worked on looks better than before.

I might try Ultimate Compound once... Or give up to the scratches and just go on polishing and waxing.

  • My crystal black accord colour is slightly dull after applying this even though it covers some of the light scratched :(

Any idea why? Do I have to apply any polish to make it glossy as other area?

  • @sudi1008 this is a cleaner...you always need to follow it up with a polish or polish/wax to bring back the shine and deep color.

  • @meguiarsasia Cool... I will try that this weekend. What polish would you recommend? Deep Crystal Polish TWO STEP SYSTEM or Color X?

  • @sudi1008 deep crystal polish step 2 would be perfect!

  • I should let you guys detail my whole car with your products to be used as a demonstration for black Nissan paint!

  • I woke up yesterday to a terrible sight. My Dodge pickup was parked on the street and had a 10 foot black streak down the side of it, I believe it was from a side mirror. After my anger calmed down I went to the store and purchased a bottle of Scratch-X 2.0. After 2 hours of rubbing (it was a BIG mark) its nearly impossible to tell the mark was there. The only thing left is a small dent. Now the paint looks so good I have to use Ultimate Compound and wax to make it look even. Meguiar's rocks!

  • oh yea, almost all my off roading buddies carry this in there truck now and my friends love it also, even people that dont offroad use it,thats how i went through my first bottle so fast from trying to prove to people this product was better!and i did! thanks Meguiar's for making such great compounds and helping me keep my truck looking sharp!

  • all i will use is this Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0,its such an amazing compound idk what to say about it,me and my buddys have are 4x4 we like to take through mud, woods, etc, one day i got a good size couple scratchs on my truck and thought id give 2.0 a try,boy i gave it a try after 3 hard lond rubs it was gone! i have a black truck btw,i use this alot, ive gone through two bottles and not once has it let me down, some deep scratches still show but idk what id do without this product,my truck stays nice

  • does it work on plastic? like arcade buttons plastic?

  • @gween yes!

  • @meguiarsasia Cool Ill get 1 bottle asap!

  • my car seems to have fine scratches and i used scratchx on them and they havent gone anywhere....does this mean i should try ultimate compound?

  • @gsaini100 scratchx 2.0 should do the work if you put some passion behind the pad 1-3 times. If this does not work, ultimate compound is more aggressive.

  • I love the ScratchX 2.0, it just works. I used to remove some nasty paint transfer on my sidemirrors, worked like a charm. I found that it's also good for removing "traffic-film" from the windows.

  • @Laofse big tube of fillers!!!! it cleans out the crap from scratches then fills them in......after a few washes there back

  • Works on my car, Maybe my car has better paint or something, but scratches are less visible, permanently.

  • si e vero! l ho usato oggi ed e stato grande sulla mia rav 4. fai un po di fatica ma ti risulta un bel resultato.

    5 stars!!!

  • I have a black 08 GSXR & removing bug splats from the front cowling added a barrage of swirl marks. In the past I have tried products that claim to remove swirl marks & none have worked. After reading reviews here I gave ScratchX 2 a try. $22 from SuperCheap Auto, a micro-fibre cloth $12 & a Meguiars foam applicator $5. I applied the product with medium pressure in a circular motion, then buffed if off gently. The minor swirls completely vanished & the deeper ones are noticeable reduced.

  • I've used the original scratch x on everything and its amazing what it removes. Paint from other cars scraping you in the lot, scratches, stubborn tar, blemishes, etc... I cant wait to try this one.

  • can you use this on deep scratches also do you need to buy a blue colour for a blue car or does it replenish any colour

    Thanks :)

  • @luvhannibal this is made for FINE scratches and blemishes. The color of the product does not matter since your working on the clearcoat which is clear....the clearcoat is above the paint.

  • helo meguiars, all my cars have swirl, but 1 my car have swirl and soft scratch (scratch likes swirl too) can i remove with swirlX ? if scratchX sure can remove scratch ? can use with pad hand ? thx before

  • is this good for my macbook pro got a little tiny scrath on the aluminum o my mackbook pro

  • This is a fine product I use it on my black 89 Mustang drag car.

  • wow

  • I just bought this product to remove some light scratches on my Mazda 6 2007 (black) car, I worked on a few of the scratches, and the very light ones disappeared, not the same for others a little deeper. My question is: do I need to wait until it dries? Like the paste wax? Or I should clean it up right after aplying with the pad? Same question goes for the SwirlX (that I also bought). Thanks again, I love Meguiars products!

  • Just wondering after using this and the scratches are gone are they gone permanently? Ive heard some people say that scratch removers only seem to last untill the car is washed or it starts to rain then the product gets washed out and the scatches re-appear

  • they are gone...be sure to wash with a Ph balanced car wash

  • Correct! it doesn't it's the same as car wax, but you might as well do it everytime when you wash your car.

  • Hey where can i buy this other than online? Also for applying this should i use Meguiar's X3080 EvenCoat Applicator or Terry applicator Pad?

  • I would use the even coat applicator pad and you can buy this at Walmart in the states or most local automotive stores.

  • Love this product. Used this product 2 days straight to remove ALL of the swirl mark's off my car, work on it by hand.

  • i tried this on a black 2002 car and nothing happened. I tried over and over again to be sure, it did nothing. dont waste your money on this crap.

  • Uh, wrong. This and most other scratch removal products cut through the wax on the first pass or two. Simple scratch repair is just that, simple. Megs has an easy to use product that works well. Don't over complicate things with misinformation.

  • If you want this stuff (or any scratch removal product) to work correctly, you have to strip the wax off your paint. If you don't, you're just filling in the scratches with the product and once it wears off, the same scratches will re-appear. To strip the wax off your car, wash with Dawn dish soap, clay, re-wash with car shampoo, apply the ScratchX 2.0, polish, and apply a coat of wax to finish the process.

  • yeah man, go to super cheap austo in australia, you might have to orde it, but I scratched the fuel tank of my gsxr 2009 model by taking stickers off..It was very nasty, but this stuff took it all of. It is mildly abrasive and gets rid of scratches for good by cutting. trust me it works, and I did it on black paint.

  • I just used this on my black car and you can kind of still see the scratches. Am I doing it wrong??

  • I would use it 3 times and work it in til its almost gone....if scratches remain you may need to upgrade to professional items

  • i tried this product on very light scratches and allmost half a bottle and they did not come out (on a black car) why is this

  • this is for light scratches, if the scratches are deeper or your fingernail can get stuck stuck in them or feel them, its probably too deep for a consumer product like this. You also want to make sure you work this product in until its almost gone with medium to heavy pressure.

  • What kind of cloth can I use? I don't got the yellow one! Thanks!

  • a premium microfiber cloth is the best thing to use. The yellow one is a Meguiar's Microfiber

  • Excellent video demonstrating an area that very commonly gets scratches!

I have some ScratchX (1.0 I guess) that I think I'll go out and use on my door handles right now. Do I need to prepare the surface before I do this? I just recently used a claybar and waxed it last week. Or can I just go out and use ScratchX, then polish/wax that area? Thanks!

  • truthfully, the original scratchx works but it takes more elbow grease and more working it in over several passes. With scratchx 2.0, you can do it a few times while 1.0 takes 3 or so applications to get the desired result. Yes, using clay before will help results, afterwards you can use wax like tech wax 2.0

  • you must have heard horror stories about the rotary.....a DA (dual action) is not capable of burning paint off. Its made for pro's and consumers alike since its super safe.

  • yes that would be perfect! If you use a DA machine with a W8207 pad at speed 3.5, you will get even better results than by hand...just an FYI. : )

  • ScratchX 2.0 is not designed for use on the whole vehicle. If you have swirls....swirlx is what you would want to use. Afterwards you want to use a polish and a protectant like Tech Wax 2.0, Gold Class Wax or even Deep Crystal polish and then a wax after if you like.

  • ill need to try some of this,.. but one "?" does it leave any kind of a protection/wax?

  • Great question! This is a cleaner product and leaves no protection or wax behind. It is recommended to use Tech Wax 2.0 or Gold Class wax to polish and protect!

  • iv look in all the good auto shops around me and all i can find is the old scratchX... is 2.0 avaliable in australia?

  • Great video Matt!!

May i ask how will this compare with M205 when worked by hand? how much does the cut level differ?

  • well thats like comparing apples and oranges. Professional is a professional polish and scratchx 2.0 is a cleaner for individual scratches, not the whole vehicle. The cut level for M205 should be stronger since its made for professionals.

  • Thanks for the reply!

  • i have some original scratch x lying around. im about to go use some on the hood of my car.

  • looks great
