  • ucsd?

  • There's no turning back from there lol

  • haha I thought I was the only one using dremel to work on the car. But I didn't cut my studs, I used a slip on spacers before the bolt on spacers. Not sure it's safe tho.

    P.S. Like your exhaust

  • would adding different sized wheel spacers on the front and back change the thrustline, making the car wander??

  • great vid...thanks - 2011 cts-v coupe...do u have 1 inch spacers for that???

  • Nice video. Btw using your torque wrench like a breaker-bar can make it inaccurate.

  • Very helpful tips thanks man how about for my g35 I wanna put 18x9.5 front 18x10.0 rear anybody know what kind of spacers I need I know its 5x14.3

  • Hey guys just a tip for next time,

Put the lug nuts on the threaded studs before

Cutting just incase you can't cut straight.

  • Nice video the music is awesome!!!

  • I still don't get it. What does a wheel spacer do?

  • @rocaho001 gives the car a more wider stance feel just hit up google images

  • Do you have to retorque often due to any vibrations in the steering wheel or do the lugs stay tight and the car ride smooth?

    Thanks

  • @Dolladog No re-tighten necessary.

  • you only needed the spacers because the new wheels were a different offset and width? I liked the thrusts more, with the spacers!

  • @jordub Yeah, went to a Roush RR03 which are for 05+ stangs so needed spacers.

  • @MustangAficionado hey bro.. nice video! .. you cut original lugs .. isn't that bad? what if u wanna go back to the old rims?

  • Im digging the Cobra R side exhaust!

  • What was achieved by doing this.

  • @1939PlymouthRatRod Being able to run 2005+ wheels on a SN95

  • Always screw a nut on before cutting off.

  • are spacers bad? do they harm? some ppl say it weakens the nuts or smth

  • @spitty3d With spacers like this where there are new studs, you dont have to worry about your lugs not having enough threads or your stock studs breaking from the increased leverage.

  • @spitty3d

All wheel spacers create stress on the vehicle's hub and axle. Aluminum and urethane wheel spacers add that little extra balance needed for off-road type vehicles and recreational driving. With off-road vehicles the spacers are attached to press in studs that are already on the ATV or four-wheeler motorcycle.

  • ucsd!

  • @kirbies2000 Reppin hard

  • ucsd!

  • just get bigger spacers. wider is better lol

  • dude your background music is amazing....

  • You should really thread a lug nut on each stud before you cut them. Then, after you've cut, you thread the lug nut off and it fixes the threads.

  • PLEASE HELP IM trying to make sure i purchase the right spacers. i have 225\60\16 tires and they rub against the strut panel that is closest to the tire. Ive already know but im not sure the size spacer to get, can offer any advice and love your mustang by the way

  • lmao a dremel....go to home depot and buy a cutting wheel...cut that time in half

  • @sjjdiienno1 "tis ture, everyone. Angle grinder and a cut off wheel is much faster.

  • how many pounds did u adjust in the torque wrench????

  • @ErikMartinez454 Depends if you have conical lug nuts, but i do 85-95lbs.

  • having a little trouble putting the wheels back on eh? hahahah

  • I wish I had a torque wrench.

  • Who told you a torque wrench was to be used for removing lug nuts?

I understand this can damage the mechanism.

  • @seapeddler You are correct. Check the video description. I meant to say breaker bar.

  • @MustangAficionado Yes, the video shows someone using a torque wrench.

In order to avert a long prison stay you must redo the video showing the useage of a breaker bar or monster wheel ratchet. The YouTube community is in deep shock.

  • @seapeddler If only I could get the people at YouTube to come out and film this again, but we all know how busy they are. I mean look at how many new videos there each day, surely they have their hands full.

  • whats the purpose for these spacers? can anyone tell me.

  • @aerobutton Most people use them for the looks, they also give better handling because the wheels arent as close to each other.

Because of that the max. weight you can have in your car is lower tho, but i guess in the states they never heard about that/care about it

  • i have brembo brake covers if i add a 20mm - 22mm wheel spacer to my front and back tires of my 99 cadiiac sts would that be fine/wise and will you people styll be able to see my brake covers ?

  • Very nice video, and well done.

    HELLA FLUSH

  • @colinshark this mustang is def not hellaflush hahahaah

  • i just bought konig 18 inch rims for my car, and for some rims the distance between the the rims are skinnier so the lug bolts are to long, would sliding a small wheel spacer in between the rims and the hub get rid of this problem? or should i just get smaller lug bolts?

  • @Catamountfootball99 That would help or solve your problem, is it all 4 wheels? Because having a decent sized spacer up front isn't always recommended, but a lot of people do it. Getting a spacer with its own studs like these would solve the problem for sure, are the new studs will be the length you're putting your lugs on, the stock studs will have the open lugs tightening them.

  • Comment removed

  • Hmm I think I'll do the same on my Lincoln.. You have some useful little tips. It's an american racing product? (the spacer)

  • @dtpchilli4life It's a H&R spacer

  • Don't use a torque wrench to remove your lugs or heavy use. Buy a 2' breaker for chrise sake! Get a set of socket mandrels from Harbor Freight. You can chuck a 1/2" one in a drill then put your lug socket on it and quickly remove/install those lugs after you've loosened them. Sort of like a mini air wrench. Remember to torque after installing.

  • Good use of RJ, I approve :P

  • love the music, lol.

  • do i have to buy that by the brand and model of the car or i can buy it by the number of holes?

  • @deepengrave You go off of # of holes and lug pattern spacing, like mine are 5x114.3

  • Lossening with a torque wrench could damage it!!!

  • u can use a breaker bar for taking off the lugs i think its much easier

  • This has been covered, and agreed upon. Thank you

  • ok i know this is probobly a stupid question but what exactly do the spacers do just place the wheels furthers apart and closer to the fender?

  • Yup, and wider stance. Mainly used for appearance. I used em to be able to use 2005+ mustang wheels.

  • true just makin sure but is there any negative effects?

  • According to American Muscle, the increase handling..

  • Nice video. I was thinking about adding 1 inch spacers on my stangs....

  • a torque wrench is not a breaker bar..... loosen your lugs with the proper tool next time...

  • Read description next time.

  • read it but doesnt eliminate the fact that you said torque wrench in the video n00b. :) also should recommend use of a thread chaser.....

  • Description also recommends to put the open lug nut on first to chase the cut. These are obviously things I thought of after the thought so are in the description.

  • love that wheel

  • Thanks, they are Roush RR03's. Had to cut the fron 18x10's down an inch in width in able to put them on a SN95.

  • sweet im puttin those on my car looks great. doesent break the bank. does it give you better handling? or is it just for looks?

  • A wider plant is better for handling, but it's not going to be noticeable or really the reason for the mod. I did it to make 05+ wheels work on a SN95, most do it for looks.

  • i got the 4 lug on my 5.0 not the five thats what makes a classic stang is the 4 lug!

  • You're not automatically a classic for having 4 lugs, it just means you get the shit end of the stick for wheel selection.

  • i know right you got like the most badass wheels ever with your 5 lug good thing you still got rally gap you bitch.

  • Someone's on the rags. Sorry if progressive drag springs don't slam it down to the floor like you fast and the furious types enjoy.

  • dang dude good thing you got some low profile tires for drag racing. i heard those things grip sooo good at the track.

  • We can't all be ballers and roll around in our drag radials in the rain like cool people.

  • yeah your car probably needs them because mustang gt's are sooo fast

  • Haha, i agree with you there. Pretty slow. This one had heads/cams before it was crashed - but the radials helped a bit at the track even if still comparatively slow.

  • hey did you have any problems with your adapters as far as performance?

  • Not at all

  • Nice chang dude...

  • What exactly does these do? I'm putting some wide tires on my 94 GT Soon But i don't want clearance issues so i wanna put wheel spacer in rear only.

I think it makes em look pretty sick but, What sizes do they got and what are they really for?

  • They really are for nothing more than appearance purposes. With the wheels further out it looks awesome, and if you have a wide body kit or wheel arch extensions it is in my opinion definitely worth buying some big spacers to finish the look :)

  • it also changes suspension geometry by givine a wider track width

  • nice video we need more videos for MUSTANG.

  • nice video im thinking about puting some on my ford ranger but im going to put anti-seize on it

  • i thought u never break nuts/bolts off w/ a torque wrench but w/ a breaker bar. ???

  • Correct, noticed description info. I didn't have a breaker bar.

  • XD sorry i didnt read description

  • No problem man, thanks for watching.

  • just FYI for people doing this, it is easier if you thread a bolt onto the lug bolt before cutting so then when you cut it off you can back the bolt off and it will clean the threads to make it easier to put on the lug nuts without cross-threading.

  • I agree. Should have mentioned this.

  • yh good point man thanks for the info :)

  • Whats the name of that first instrumental playing on the vid?

  • now it looks right but r they well balanced

  • That's actually a good question. Im comforted by the fact that any change to the balance that close to the center/middle of a diameter wont cause too much imbalance.

  • umm what thicker the 1.5inch or 35mm

  • does this affect the wheel bearings?

  • That's a good Q, I wouldn't say a 1" does, bu at hgiher ranges it changes the geometry of suspension angle so i'm sure it'd cause more wear. I havent heard of any problems yet from anyone that uses spacers about it.

  • thx.i ve been contemplating getting spacers for my suv for the past 6 months now.the rear track is 4 inches less than the front and looks terrible especially with up size rims and tires

  • You cant really put in 4 inch spacers. Look into wheels with closer relationship of backspacing for front and rear

  • no dear, i meant 4 inch total ( 2" each spacer)

  • that makes more sense, but especially if you off road, it's going to be more of an issue. Look into different wheels or try some 1.5's and see how you like em.

  • so, what do the wheel spacer do? just looks or what?

  • Most people use em for looks. Also wider stance translates to better handling. I did it because those wheels are made for 05+ mustangs and i needed 1" less backspacing

  • where do u get the spacers at?

  • greatest video ever, answered all my questions and the one question left unanswered was answered below in a reply to somone's comment. Thanks!

  • Thanks man, appreciate it

  • Do you need to put the spacers on the front wheels or just the rear wheels?

  • For most people it's a visual thing, they are choosing to make their stance wider, so just rears. For me, I'm using 2005+ mustang wheels which have a different backspacing. On the front, along with cutting them down 1" in width) i'm using a 1/4" spacer which is just a flat piece of billet aluminum and holes fro the lugs.

  • you should not use a torque wrench to loosen lug nuts, they are made for precision tightening, you can mess the calibration up.

  • Read the description

  • nice side exhaust. i just tried putting those on today only to find out about the studds lol

  • The music makes me want to cut myself.

Car looks like its sitting a little high though.

  • You can thank youtube for not allowing any real music. As for the height, it's higher in the back - but once it's all together it looks pretty good - i'll put finished pics in the description. Can't go lower around here with this ehuast.

  • i wanna do this to my 97 gt i have 17x8 bullets on it, but the adapters from american musle do not have the lip in the middle of them to let the wheel sit on it but yours do how come???

also if i put the 1.25" spacers will my lugs have to be cut??

    thanx man

  • Mine have the lip because they are hybcentric, which is what you should try to find. With 1.25" spacers nothing needs to be cut, or if you have recess holes on the back of your wheel you never need to.

  • are those s197 roush rims?

  • Yes indeedy they are, forged RR03's

  • is it ok to put spacers only on rear wheels or you have to do the four wheels?

  • I did it only on the rear, usually people only do it on the rears. Spacers only come in pairs because of this.

  • What Exhaust system do you have?

  • Refer to my other video on how to make your own exhuast

  • 2" spacers on IRS would make a whole lot of negative camber. That's a drastic change right there.

  • Awesome. I need to do this to my stang now.

  • nice job!
