The beautiful tones can't make up for a lack of clearly expressed phrasing heirarchy,nor for a lack of variation of the downbeat...which relentlessly falls unvaried on the beat...instead of before,on,and after.

Some tasteful rallentandi are undermined by a lack of accelerandi and lack of the threat of surprise which hardly occurs here.

C'mon guys...we need more than this to sustain our souls.

@smithsherman You've obviously never heard them in person. A poor live recording is always going to make things sound slurred and muffled. Their playing is riveting and entertaining.
