I've had two long distance relationships.. both met in Myrtle Beach where we spent time at the Family Kingdom amusement park (where parts of the video were shot), which is why this is my favorite song ever, of any genre, of all time. Reminds me what my summer's have been all about
This song was totally ruined by the lyric "In the morning I'm leaving, making my way back to Cleveland"....well if you ever met anyone from Cleveland you would know they are worthless, no-class scum....sorry but you know it's true....so this song stinks for that reason.....CASE CLOSED....no debate needed here.
when the crowd sings the chorus back to him, i get this feeling in the pit of my stomach, like butterflies. you can sense that every person in that audience has experienced that same thing. i haven't but i really understand where he's coming from. it's amazing..

This song reminds me of a guy I met one summer in the 1970's on vacation at Panama City Beach Florida. I was 17 yrs old. I cried all the 500 miles home. Wonder where he is now? I know I have never forgotten him.
A real man would never have forgotten you either. I met a girl at the beach and I have never forgotten her. I wonder if she remembers me from time to time.
Let's hope they do, but we may never know. We did make a mark on their life, because we were a part of it, even if only briefly. Bet they MISS us now!! HA HA
