Dobermans are all bark and no bite. They make great guard dogs that are very alert and intimidating to the look but they will get scared off easily. Pit Bulls are scary by look and reputation, but also can be deterred easily as it may befriend you if you approach it properly. German Shepherd may be best on that list as a guard dog. There is a difference between an attack dog and a guard sentury dog. If you want a real junk yard dog, get a rottweiler or a rott/GSD mix. Or a Fila Brazillio.
