Dio wanted RJD-disciples no independent musicians like GregC and JakeE or Richie Blackmore (which was his big influence and breakthrough ) *anywayz i got interviews about it,,,,plz give me the source/link what Jake said ;-Q
He started Ratt with Stephen Pearcy, but quit because they couldn't get along. His replacement in Ratt was his good friend Warren DeMartini. He went on to join Rough Cutt, a band Ronnie James Dio was mentoring. He left that band to join Dio, and played with him before they recorded any albums. He ended up losing that gig to Vivian Campbell, but went on to get the coveted guitar spot in Ozzy. Side note: George Lynch was a close choice besides Jake to replace Randy Rhoads after his death.

@peipotatoguy - and it's a shame that bandlands tenure was ephemeral. Great band, but a little outdated for their time period. Two songs you should check out from them are Wild Horses and Winter's Call. Both are epic.

Sure Jake KICKS ASS with his Charvel San Dimas guitars, but try doing this shit on a Les Paul Custom. They each have their OWN place in OZZY's Dark Squad RR LIVES!!!

@gambadude The recording/copy is low quality (there is a decent one somewhere which does it a bit more justice) plus he is playing in some atonal scale something like wholetone extremely fast with old school 80's distortion so its gonna sound a bit gritty.

@fleshgordon1 Jake's a masturbator, and the greatest one ever at that. Zakk' a musiscian, and comes pretty close to both Toni Iommi and Randy at that. Jake's at another planet, - but he's alone up there ;-) I really love him though.

@gambadude The recording/copy is low quality (there is a decent one somewhere which does it a bit more justice) plus he is playing in some atonal scale something like wholetone extremely fast with old school 80's distortion so its gonna sound a bit gritty.

you said it best. Jake was the best guitarist that Ozzy ever had! I quit listening to Ozzy after Jake "left" him.
Ozzy was at his best when he had Jake E Lee, Bob Daisley, and Carmine Appice (I may have misspelled some of those names) That was Bark at the Moon, and it is still awesome!

@punkmoxie he definitely held up as a good writer next to randy for example you've heard "killer of giants" its sounds very randy rhoads but i could never see zakk writing something close to jake or randy..dont get me wrong no rest for the wicked was in alright album but anything after that never caught my attention
