To be honest, among Lady Cantonese Singers in Hong Kong in this 10 years... I can say apart from Jeoy Yung, I can't see any good female singers. But G.E.M give me a big supprise! She is really really really fantasic. and don't forget how old is she?! She was just 15 but in this great voice. Yup, comparing to Charice is unfair, she is just a level above the rest....

And one thing, apart from some singing mistakes, GEM does need to work on stage presence and audience interaction. Been to some of her live shows, quite poor in that department...

@VeryColdheart This is so irrelevant. Charice's singing skills is just worlds better than G.E.M. No question. It's very objective and there's nothing to do with language or nationality or even genes. They are singing the same song why can't people make comparison?

Don't take me wrong, I love her a lot too. She definitely sings better than other rubbish Hong Kong singers. Charice sings better doesn't make GEM bad.

Just a kind reminder, English is one of the official languageS in Hong Kong too.

@martin0322 People always jugde the others with different yard stick. I guess you must be either the best in your field (are you?) or you are comparing yourself with the best everyday. Charice is one in a million if not billion, GEM is already better than a lot of the top singers in HK,PRC or even Taiwan, why don't you name a Chinese singer who can sing this song better than Charice, if you can just shut it, learn to appreciate talent when you see them.

@happydays1698 The top singers in the PRC have amazing voices, but tend not to sing pop music. On the other hand, a lot of Taiwanese singers aren't very good at all. Don't confuse production values with vocal ability. Taiwanese music culture is borrowed a lot from Japan, which is not exactly known for its singing. If you don't count the Aboriginal Taiwanese singers, look at all the "good" singers in Taiwan, and see how many of them are actually from the US, China, or Malaysia and Singapore.
