  • whats the o ring?

  • do they drop out?i heard from my surgeon that they will dissolve?i dont know...it has been 4 years since then, and i havent experience anything drop out from my ears yet..lol!:)

  • @AnonymousMe1989 -Did you feel as if you could not hear as good after the operation....becasue I might have to get it done but I'm afraid I will lose my hearing???!!!

  • well my hearing was relatively good after the operation!

as soon as i woke up from anesthesia, i could hear everything quite clearly, as compared from before the operation.

For example, before the operation, i cant really hear the sound from adjusting the bed, and after the op, i didnt dare to adjust anymore, because i can hear it very loud, and am afraid that it would disturb others!

i also turned the tv volume lower than before..

  • @AnonymousMe1989 -Thanks for the quick response....thats awesome...did you have any complications after the operation becsue I researched it and there could be many???!!!

  • Not that i have experienced...it has been 4 years after the operation..

maybe it depends on how skilled your surgeon is..:)

but its important though, not to get your ears wet from bathing/swimming a few months after the operation

  • @AnonymousMe1989 -thanks again for your response...but did you have to keep your ear dry just after the operation or do you have to keep it dry all the time...can you still snorkel, swim or dive normally or do you need ear plugs???

    Luke

  • i only managed to keep it dry for a few months...after that i didnt really care about that lol...

but so far i did not have any complications from that

  • @AnonymousMe1989-Thanks for your help...I greatly appriciate it!!!

  • I had another question...but this timeit is really the final one.....you know when you are decending on a plane you have to equalize or pop your ears to relieve the pressure on your eardrum...since there is now a "hole" in the ear drum, do you still have to do it....or does it now equalize by itself...?????

    Thanks, Lukas

  • i havent yet encountered such situations whereby i had to pop my ears...

if im not wrong, when the tube drops out, the ear drum will heal because the purpose of the tube is to temporarily drain out fluid fro your ears

  • @LukeAustrian it should equalize by itself because the air can freely flow in and out

  • @LukeAustrian I don't know...hit a q-tip into your ear with a hammer and fly

  • @Spike00513z Hahahahahahahaha!!!

I like the way you think!

    LMAO

  • @LukeAustrian I have these and I'm a pilot. When I fly my friends ask me, do you just not pop cuz your used to it? No its from these bad boys

  • I'm having this done tomorrow morning... Slightly worried now. XD

  • i had tubes in my ear when i was little.. ahah whenever they fell out i was like wtf is that but then i remembered

  • I've had over 16 "tubes" putin... 8 in my right and 8 in my left.. Constantly lost them...now im 24 and haven't had a "set" put in since I was 18.. THANK GOD...they hurt like hell. They never put me to sleep for it after the 3rd set The sleepin agents never really worked.

  • looks like an earing lol

  • how do you look into the ear?

  • usually by STORZ Hopkins - 0°
