i think antithesis is a great album but i think they could have used a better studio or engineer. the sound quality is really dry and gritty and sounds too thin. i expect music like this to have a bit more punch and low end. i hope they choose a better studio for their next album!

look it up on youtube. you use the rim as an axis and when you lift you hand, it hits the snare, and when you drop your hand it hits the snare. so the same movement but two notes

In the studio it's just the shitty mic on the camera picking everything up, whereas the other sound is coming from multiple microphones, all placed in specific places, mixed and EQd to give the best sound.
