I recently saw this film, it made me thankful for what I have and not to take those who love me for granted. It take seconds for your life to change forever. Best film I've seen in ages. Be humble, be kind to each other, help each other and don't quarrel over petty things-life is too short.
I watched this flim on an Air france flight to Delhi from Paris. It took me 2 weeks to get this moovie. Watched it 10 times . Screened it for Physiotherpists in my hospital. I have no word to describe how complete the moovie is , and how smatly this is made. Just AMAZING ! God bless the team .
This is the most astonishing movie ever made, with such a touching music..I think that is one of the rare gems of the contemporary cinema.. Everybody in the world should see it..
@YirumaSan Julian Schnabel is an amazing director. Hard to believe that he went from painting to directing. Obviously, they are both artistic fields and similar in that, but at the same time different, yet, he did the transition so seamlessly. He's very talented. Another awesome movie by Schnabel is "Before NIght Falls."
thank you for posting this trailer, mainly because I have been looking for a youtube video of the scene where mathieu amalric is driving down a street of paris, the music playing 'darling these chains of love wont set me free, chains of love wont let me be...'-- one of my most favourite scenes of cinema. It s a dream of driving away and feeling free.
@MrGirlfucker have you seen this movie at all? it is not werid, it's a touching and deep story that is based on a true event, imagine if you have locked in syndrome, (completely paralyzed, with the exception of one eye) what would you do in order to escape the confines of an innate body? the answer is your imagination and will.
@mohammadalebsi 'Le Scaphandre et le Papillon'/'The Diving Bell & The Butterfly' Soundtrack tracklist 1. Charles Trenet - La Mer 2. The Dirtbombs - Chains of Love 3. I thought No Country for Old Men was a fantastic, great film, and I think it deserved Best Picture. But no one did a better job directing a film in 2007 than Julian Schnabel with this.
This is a great movie. Within the first 15 minutes I was starting to freak out from feeling claustrophobic. You are unwillingly suspended in his point of view. . .not such a great feeling but you do get a thorough understanding of the gravity that one would suffer from "locked in syndrome"

Hello Guys! I am looking for the name of a movie ( I think it's foreign movie) about a painter who is contracted to paint a family, but then he discovers things about a dead boy son of the mother who tries to hide it...anyone can help me which movie is that? I think there's winter in the middle of the name! Thanks
The most incredible movie I've ever seen...and I'm 51 years old. Everyone in it is mesmerizing, but Max Von Sydow earns a special mention in one of the most powerful scenes ever put on the silver screen. This movie is beautiful, poignant and full of hope.
couple years ago when this film came out i was sitting in barnes and noble and stumbled upon the book i had a couple hours to kill so i read it right there in the store i fell in love, the next week i got the movie, loved it even more this is an amazing true story, film, and book. recommended to anyone.
I saw the movie and loved it. Decided to buy the book, also loved it. Though it was not a very comfortable read, it was well worth it. I also cried, haha. J'adore! c:
As a speech-language pathologist, also French but working in the U.S. I can verify that this film was brilliantly portrayed. I've encountered only once a patient with the (rare) Locked-In Syndrome and we utilized the spelling method demonstrated in the film. It was gut-wrentching and arduous but a gift to his family and friends. I need to watch the French version now! I will recommend this to my graduate student interns for their training and insight. Thanks to all for this film.
It's a great book :)I think it's because you're thinking all the way through it how incredible it is that he dictated it. It's well written as well and he describes what it's like to have the syndrome and how it feels to see his children but not speak to them and things. It's very good.
I cried while watching this movie because I remembered my mother when she got stroke and needed to be confined in the hospital. But it's too late. Thanks for this movie.
