Consider the three coaches we had after DKR retired, it's not hard to see why we had struggles. Akers was good until he sputtered out, that and he couldn't win a bowl game if his life depended on it. McWilliams was bad and Mackovic was almost just as. Speaking of, Roll Left was about the only good call Mackovic ever made. Most super programs were bad in the 90's (Us, OU, USC, etc..). That's why the Washington's and Colorado's flourished.
Rafa38's a rare one. Almost 90% of the Nebraska fans I've met are some of the most courteous and legitimately nice people I've met. It should be fun bringing Garrett Gilbert and the boys to Lincoln next year. I plan on going to the game.

I think we're getting back though. It's gonna take a while but I think we will get to the point where we'll dominate the North scrubs every year, and maybe EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, beat OU or UT to win the Big 12.
In retrospect, no one will ever be as good as Nebraska was during the 60-3 run in the mid-90s. But I do think we can start contending for conference titles again, very soon.

This was a great game but showing only highlights for one team was a poor excuse for a highlight video. One would think Texas won this game 37-0 but it was a very competitive game. If the Huskers would have played Texas 10 times that year Nebraska would have won 9 of them.
The game that opened the door for UF to win its first national title. I watched this game with a college bud at a sports bar that was a hangout for Nebraska fans. We were hysterical in the fourth quarter as UT pulled the upset. Thanks again, Texas, from Gator fans everywhere!

@Rafa38 LOL, the Big 12 just signed a new TV contract with Fox Sports and ESPN; it's not going anywhere. We did get rid of dead weight when CU and NU picked up their skirts and ran to weaker conferences (thanks, btw). So NU football is getting back after 3 straight 4 loss seasons, a beatdown in their bowl game and the inability to beat South teams? The only thing NU has going for them is that they no longer have to face their daddy in Austin or the Big 12 South anymore.........

99 Big 12 title game. and even that year, UT destroyed our dreams of playing for the MNC when they beat us in Austin (A game I was at BTW).

I think we're getting back though. It's gonna take a while but I think we will get to the point where we'll dominate the North scrubs every year, and maybe EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, beat OU or UT to win the Big 12.
In retrospect, no one will ever be as good as Nebraska was during the 60-3 run in the mid-90s. But I do think we can start contending for conference titles again, very soon.
PS - You guys got screwed big time. Good luck against the jort wearers in Arizona.

This was a great game but showing only highlights for one team was a poor excuse for a highlight video. One would think Texas won this game 37-0 but it was a very competitive game. If the Huskers would have played Texas 10 times that year Nebraska would have won 9 of them.

The game that opened the door for UF to win its first national title. I watched this game with a college bud at a sports bar that was a hangout for Nebraska fans. We were hysterical in the fourth quarter as UT pulled the upset. Thanks again, Texas, from Gator fans everywhere!
