This movie was just awful. They were shameless but they understood this and went with it. If you're gonna go for "epic" you really need to deliver something new and tasteful, not trite and gaudy. PS the acting was so tragic I wanted to die.

So this movie not only is entertaining, but it plays an important role in impulsing motion graphics' quality. Right after seeing this trailer in the cinema you just sense how evolved filmmaking is at this time in our lives.
Here's what happens with the haters: their belief of having good cinema tase makes them fall deeper every day in the idea that the more realistic the movie is, the better. That is only one specific genre of movies. They forget the truth and starting meaning of Artist and creation.
How good a movie is is defined by what you feel during it's projection and afterwards; not what you come up with after a long time of forced realistic thinking.
I would've liked them to make the movie with the "real" reality in that facility. Yes, it probably would've been a shocking and scandalous movie, but unfortunately some people can't see beyond the images and sexy girls.
I watched the movie today and I am shocked by all the bad comments about it, cause obviously none of those people understood what this movie is really about. This movie is about rape and about how she fights for her life. she is using her imagination to represent hers and the other girl's battle in a form of combat, just like in the video games.
Emily Browning did a great job in this (though I didn't like Vanessa Hudgens' acting, sorry) and if you get the plot, the movie is amazing. I like the 'escape from reality' idea. Worth watching, definitely.
I'm not a harsh rater but this movie wasn't very good, first off they had the main character wear a freaking Donald Duck outfit. second of all, they made the movie a little bit feminist, third of all, they were never in any real danger during the dream-scape (the parts with the most action) because it was just in their heads. lastly, you can't imagine your way out of a real problem, if you could then why didn't they just imagine that the items they need were already obtained form the start?
this was an AMAZING movie! my mom thought it was weird though, but it was pretty good, i watched it 3 times in a row, but its pretty sad too. my eyes were tearing up lol

What creeped me out about this movie that the names Zack & Snyder, the Directors, were also the names of two of the three partners at the law firm I worked at; I didn't like how it just looked like her dad sold her to a whorehouse that they are forced to dance at where the guy Mr. Blu plays the pimp! I thought because the movie was soo about her fighting for survival that they should have escaped.

@Billythachikk Yeah, this proves that Zack Snyder should stick to directing movies, not writing them. It's like with Frank Miller, but the opposite. His comic books like Sin City and 300 worked well, but when he tried to direct his first movie, "The Spirit", it ended up being total garbage. Snyder is still one of my favorite directors, visuals in his movies are sometimes just mindblowing. In my opinion, Watchmen is still one of the best movies made in the whole 21st century.

To people who say there is no script, i say you definitely don't understand the movie. It's not a simple action movie. Yes it could be better, but snyder wanted a mainstream movie and no a R Rated. Think about the messages, the meaning of the different situations and you have a REALLY great and Trash movie. Take another perspective..

Just seen it! I wouldnt say it was a bad movie. I ve seen giant ninjas, nazis, dragons, orks and robot fighters in one movie. Not to mention the woman characters XD And somehow it was emotional too. Interesting.

the trailor made me imagen a better movie than it was ...altho the psychophysiology of the movie was mind blowing really awesome, and the action scenes were blood rushing ...but the old guy conection was abit shit and it felt like it finsihed half way through.

This movie was one of the biggest disappointments of my life. Visuals and action sequences were solid of course, but script was just awful. There was no believable character development or dialogue in the movie, it was just action sequence after another and I couldn't enjoy it no matter how gorgeous it looked.

@Billythachikk Yeah, this proves that Zack Snyder should stick to directing movies, not writing them. It's like with Frank Miller, but the opposite. His comic books like Sin City and 300 worked well, but when he tried to direct his first movie, "The Spirit", it ended up being total garbage. Snyder is still one of my favorite directors, visuals in his movies are sometimes just mindblowing. In my opinion, Watchmen is still one of the best movies made in the whole 21st century.

I don't understand why this got bad reviews. I wasn't going to watch because of all the negativity. But my friend told it was good so I gave it a shot. AMAZING! It's a very liberating movie. Look, if you didn't like it, go watch your overcommercialized Michael Bay films. DON"T BELIEVE THE CRITICS! ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF 2011!

@Itylsi Yes i do. While under the guise of a simple modern action flick, it has so many layers. Keep in mind that Snyder and Bay were both in the same film class, so they will have similar techniques. But Snyder actually knows how to make a movie! Watch it again and you'll see... Peace :D
