    According to the owners manual for my Outback, the water level should not touch the underside. I'm pretty sure that's the limit before extensive maintenance/modifications will be required.

    Thanks for uploading, love seeing Subarus going through stuff like that!

  • @AWDfreak Thanks buddy, yea your right, they say no touchy the underside (which I personally think is rubbish, they just want to keep themselves safe from warranty fixes lol)... But yea, I would never risk any deeper than that I think, only because of the diffs, the electrics & doors may leak.

    Great cars these, especially when you can go through these easily and see other people come in their cars and then shy away because they're not AWD/high like the outback.

  • @Matty231 Well, it's a combination of warranty, and the breather tubes for stuff like the diffs.

    I've driven through stuff deeper than the underside, I have to admit. I sure hope there isn't any water in my diffs!

    So considering that, I won't push my Outback too hard since it would require more upgrades (lift kit, skid plates, longer breather tubes for stuff like differentials, maybe even a snorkel, better wheel bearings etc) to do some of the off-roading we Outback drivers dream of.

  • @AWDfreak Oh yep, I wonder if I've got any water in my diffs :/ hope not. Then again this water would be near the top of the diffs.

  • @hyugotheman1 Well pretty much your engine is buggered, when water goes through the air intake (at the top of the grille) and runs into the engine, water can't compress so the engines pistons & valves get all bent and snap and you need a new motor lol.
