  • sweep?check your head chuck

  • This was the Sonics year this year but the blew it. No disrespect to the Rockets they earned it.

  • At the University of Houston I couldn't have anything but #34 as my jersey #

  • @DQPhat His jersey is retired, so you can't do that.

  • mad max!!!

  • man, both Rudy Toms and Rick Adelman are great coaches

  • That sayin from Marv Albert around 3:48 is from the Chicago Bulls game 3 in 1993 ahaha =]

  • @cjthepinoy: The 3-overtimes-game you mean!

  • @PhilipTheBigOne do you know the name of songs?

  • @Soundtrack1000: Sorry, no.

  • Suns should've won a championship. But they were too fucking emotional. They play with emotion, not with there heads. Look @ the Paxson shot. The defense formation was herrondous.

  • @TheEntertainmentonly The problem wasn't the defensive scheme, but rather how Barkley broke the chain. He foolishly gambled for a steal or over-played Jordan's pass ahead to Pippen, thus granting Pippen an open driving lane. Danny Ainge then committed the mistake of over-reacting to Barkley's gaffe by leaving John Paxson to protect the middle.

Basically, Barkley's lack of discipline set off a cataclysmic chain reaction.

  • I remember watching games 1, and 2 when Houston officially became "CHOKE CITY"

It was nothing to be surprised about to be honest. All Houston teams before the 1994 champion Rockets had done one thing or another to make Houston choke city

Astros, Rockets, that horrible bad nightmare of a game the Oilers lost after being up 35-3 and lost 41-38 on 1-3-1993

But GOD gave us a title after so many heartbreaking moments

1994-1995 Rockets, The Comets, and now the Dynamo are something we be proud of.

  • I'm ready for the Texans to bring us a SuperBowl...we are getting better and better each year!!! I can feel it's getting closer and closer!!!

  • @Brian77TX Well next year would be great considering the Super Bowl will be in Dallas.

Imagine The Cowboys vs The Texans.

  • Oh Hell Ya!!! Even better, Imagine the Texans beating the Cowboys on their own field!!! And I bet, if you ask most of the experts at ESPN and FOX...If you take the Texans at their best and the Cowboys...they would most likely pick HOU. But, of course...Im biased!!! :D

  • Man its amazing how well Hakeem moved for a man of his size. Simply amazing.

  • Hakeem, what a gentleman. The best!

  • 6:53 barkley at his finest!

  • no way man, Barkley at his finest is at 3:53 "we were all over him like that cheap suit you got" lol good man lol

  • LMAO

"Rockets haven't scored in a week."

    5:28

Vernon Maxwell is the reason they won this championship.

  • defensive and mvp who else has done that latley

  • Miss the good ole days!

  • do you name commentattor who said it might be Maxwell time to step up??

  • Crazy how Rockets and Knicks seasons were spitting images. Both had great defenses, had star centers, 15 game win streaks, and loooooong postseasons. The Suns were to Rockets as the Pacers were to the knicks.

  • Man even in the 90's the Suns were chokers. But they could still wipe the floor with Nash's team anyday.

  • I love the Bulls, but give the Rockets their due. They were great. Jordan was playing practice league baseball, but I think even had he played in '93-94, Houston would have given Chicago all they wanted in the Finals..

  • And probably more... Houston was actually like 15-6 against the bulls with Jordan in the 90's.

  • @LuigiLaker agreed!!

  • And regular season doesnt matter. Im a huge Rocket fan and Bulls fan and my top two players is Jordan and Olajuwon. And wish they could've faced each other in the finals that would be fun. In my opinion I think the Rockets would've won in 95 against the bulls if they had Jordan. But if Rockets would've face the bulls in 94 they probably would've lost.

  • rudy tom is such a great coach.. he had to have been a huge factor in these rocket runs... What do you say to a team that starts a series 0-2 like against phoenix

I would really say the 95playoffs were truly special.. The way they won it... no other nba championship run team has overcome SO MUCH

  • there has only been one player to get a gold medal, mvp, and the title it was jordan but if dream was from here he would have been second im tired of people not giving my rockets enuff credit they would had smashed on the bulls no offense...but even jordan said he hated playing mad max

  • Jordan would be jordan, but pipin and the rest of the bulls wouldn't do as much. the bulls never faced a defense in the finals like the rockets had in 94. And who was gonna gaurd dream? the bulls always had shitty centers, our front line woulda ate their lunch.

  • Only one Center of that era could have guarded Dream, and then he tried in the 95 conference finals, and Dream destroyed the Admiral.

  • who is commentator who said it might be Maxwell night to step up??

  • No one can guard Jordan. He averaged over 30 points.

  • One word Hakeem Olajuwon..

    Horry could guard Pipen well.

But still im not sure if the Rockets would defeat the Bulls. Probably it will take it all the way to game 7.

  • Do you honestly think "Big Shot Rob" can guard Scottie? Have you forgot that Scottie was named one of the 50 greatest of all time?

  • Anybody will do anything to get a ring. So you never know who would've won.

  • Ever watch ESPN? When they talk about the "greatest teams of all time." Those Chicago Bulls are always in the Top 2 or 3. I'm pretty most "normal" people know that Chicago would have won. The Bulls dominated the Western Conference in the playoffs. In 1996, Seatle had the most wins in the Western Conference (more than the Rockets) and the Bulls cleaned their clocks.

  • Wow you talking to a dude who is a HUGE sports fan and huge NBA fan. And I watch espn every day. And you never know who would win. Championship teams have to lose one day they cant be champions all the time. 94 and 95 looked like Rockets season ti win no matter who will they face. Im tired of this haters saying "no yall won because of Joran's retirement. or because yall didnt played the Sonics". No way The Rockets were wating for anybody doesnt matter who they face they still would've won.

  • Who did the Rockets beat in 1994? The New York Knics in SEVEN GAMES. Chicago took the Knicks to 7 games without "The Greatest Basketball Player of All-TIme." Are you honestly going to sit here and say that Michael Jordan wouldn't have led the Bulls to victory. What would happen if the Rockets lost Hakeem and replaced him with Bill Carwright? The Bulls replaced Michael with Pete Myers (I know you don't know who he is because he is terrible) and were within 1-game of beating the Knicks.

    The End

  • Im tired of this discussions this Rockets vs Bulls thing is getting old. Like I said in 94 Rockets would've lost against the bulls with Jordan. In 95 Rockets would've won.

  • How can you admit that you would have lost in 1994, bring the same team back, and then win in 1995?

  • They didnt had the same team in 94 they had Maxwell who was cold blooded and in 95 they traded for Clyde Drexler who was also cold blooded and hakeem's best sidekick. If those two were together early I think they would've won the 1986 finals and a couple of other finals. They also had other two players who were good also.

  • bulls took the knicks to 7 games because they knew how to play them, they've played them 4 times every regular season and have had many battles with them in the playoffs before that. and all this what if talk is just plain retarded, IT DIDNT HAPPEN, houston won back to back.

    THE END

  • and another thing about the knicks vs bulls in the playoffs, yeah they went 7 without mj but in 91-92 the bulls went 7 games with the knicks as well, WITH michael. your point doesnt hold water.

  • According to a study ESPN did the 10 greatest teams of all-time are the followng: 1) 1996 Bulls, 2) 1987 Lakers, 3) 1986 Celtics, 4) 1991 Bulls, 5) 1997 Bulls, 6) 1985 Lakers, 7) 1992 Bulls, 8) 1999 Spurs, 9) 1983 76ers, and 10) 1983 Pistons.

I don't see the 1994 or 1995 Rockets on that list.

  • ahhhh, signs of a loss, bringing up irrelevant information about the topic of discussion. that list doesnt take away the fact that the rockets won championships those years, doesnt negate the fact that hakeem beat jordan in head to head bouts. they won championships as the 4 and 5 seed, why would they be in the top 10, but one they have done that mjs bulls never have, sweep a team in the finals, the rockets did that in 95.

  • Almost as irreleveant as comparing regular season records? Ahh I remember when the Utah Jazz had a better record than the Bulls in 1997, who won that series?

  • haha.

this whole thing was a what if.

you can only come up with a logical reasonable answer for a what if question.

i provided that exact info with the total wins and losses head to head between hakeem and mj.

then you start pullin out all this nonsense about the greatest teams in nba history then you bring up the knicks taking them to 7 games, now youre bringing up the jazz.

whatcha gonna pull out next in your desprite reach for proving points?

  • The whole point of bring up that other information is that those teams represent the team the Bulls would have had in 1994 and 1995 if Jordan did not retire.

If those teams are among the greatest of all time, logic says that the 1994 and 1995 Chicago Bulls teams would have been among the greatest of all time. Are you that challenged that you cannot make the connection? I guess so because I don't think DESPIRITE is a word.

  • ummmm in 95 he came back, had a great 20 game regular season with the bulls, put up his usual numbers but choked against the magic, shooting a career low in the playoffs and got beat 4-2. the magic went on to the conf. finals then to the finals where they were SWEPT by houston

DESPIRITE, yeah i mispelled that, i left out a letter and i used an i where an a should have been, YOU tried to be funny and added and I where i didnt have one.

so i cant spell and you cant read. whats worse?

  • The guy went and played baseball for two years and you are going to say he can get ready to play PROFESSIONAL basketball in 20 games. Are you joking? Serioulsy are you joking?

  • he had been consistantly practicing with the team since december of 94, mj never lost his touch, he put up great numbers, won one round of the playoffs then ran into a more talented TEAM in the orlando magic. they had NO answer for shaq.

  • You are just making things up now. What is wrong with you.

  • explain to me what exactly i'm making up.

  • Jordan did not stop playing basketball untill March 2, 1995 when the White Sox split its players up into those who would play exhibition games and those that would not. Jordan did not want to be in the middle of the Baseball strike Mr. Fact Man.

  • "Jordan did not stop playing basketball untill March 2, 1995"

i think you mean baseball there buddy.

and even at that, he had been attending chicago bulls practices since december of 1994, i've got an old collection of jordan tapes, they were interviewing bj armstrong who then stated he had been practicing with them since then then began to speculate that he knew mike was going to come back.

  • also MJ had never played for the white sox, he wasnt good enough to, he played for the barons which were the AAA team for the sox. AAA teams were not affected by the strike of 1995.

  • The Barons are the AAA afiliate of the sox. Michael was impacted by the strike bc the owners wanted the minor league players to cross the picket line for the 1995 season if the MLB players did not play. Michael did not want to cross.

  • reguardless, youre straying away from the origial topic of discussion.

also the reason he didnt want to cross was because he knew he was going to come back to the nba.

  • and yes you are DESPERATE, throwing little jabs like that trying to insult people is a DESPERATE reach for trying to make yourself sound superior, i did it out of retaliation.

you should just give it up buddy, you cant win, we can go basketball knowledge, hell we can go sports knowledge in general, or quick wits.

  • I am sorry, I cannot take you serious after you just asked a man to take 2 years off from playing and come back and win a championship by playing 17 games. That is like asking Tiger Woods to go bowl for two years and then try and win the Masters.

  • make all the excuses you want, facts are facts.

FACT. michael jordan came back and got beat.

mj didnt run around crying saying stupid shit like "i was off for a little under two seasons" so why are you? michael PUT UP HIS USUAL NUMBERS, shot the same from the field but in the playoffs he didnt shoot a good percentage. thats what it was. not because he was gone for a little under 2 seasons. michael was still michael except that horrible 45 on his jersey.

  • michael actually shot well during the series except for a few games he shot 36%, and 42% twice. overall he was putting up 31 ppg @ 46% from the field along with 6 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals.

jordan was his usual self during that series but like i said, got beat by a more talented TEAM in the orlando magic.

  • Buls are the greatest of all-time, even ESPN agrees.

  • cool, espn says so.

    amazing.

olajuwon beat mj overall in wins, statistics say so and numbers dont lie pal.

  • of course nobody can guard mj but there is one team in jordans career that he had a losing record to and that was hakeems houston rockets.

  • What was Jordan's record between 1990 and 1998 when he was winning six championships?

  • doesnt matter what his record was, if you wanna keep talking what if you can only base it off of head to head battles between the two teams, Hakeems rockets beat Jordans bulls 10 to 9 during their careers.

    end of discussion.

  • You are the one who brought his record up, so obviously it does matter. You cannot compare career victories because the 1985 bulls were different than the 1996 Buls (72-10 BEST RECORD OF ALL TIME).

A more relevant stat to compare the teams would be head-to-head during the years 1990-1998 when both teams were winning championships.

Bottom line, the overall consenus is that the Chicago Bulls were the greatest team of the 1990s and anybody who thinks different is out of their mind.

  • no denying winning 6 out of the 10 possible championships solidifies you as the best team of the 90s.

and for your more relevant stat, they went 6-6 head to head from the 90-91 season til 97-98 season, not counting the 2 years jordan left but if you did, they went 2-2 when jordan was gone, but that doesnt matter were goin hakeem vs mj here, so 6-6, a tie.

the only fair tie breaker would be to count up the other wins head to head and olajuwon holds that title. 10-9.

  • after further review because i remember hakeem being hurt occasionally, he only played mj once in the 97-98 season, the rockets lost both those games that year to the bulls but revoke one of them for the hakeem vs mj overall head to head battle from 90-98 thus leaving olajuwon with more wins vs mj 6-5.

also, i reviewed my rockets archives and come to find out i was wrong with the overall total head to head wins and losses, hakeem has 12 not 10 but mj did have only 9.

  • For those of you morons that keep whining and saying "No Rockets won a title because Jordan retired" Bitch please. Hakeem was on his PRIME TIME he was dominating so as the team. If Jordan never retired I think the Rockets would've still won. With Maxwell with his great offense and defense. Maxwell was the only one who could guard Jordan.

  • And yes, the Rockets gave the Bulls the most trouble, without question, during their first three-peat run from 1991-1993..

  • Vernon Maxwell played like an All-Pro in 1993-94..

  • Mad Max! One of my all-time favorite Rockets. After he had that monster Game 3, I felt like we had a shot. After winning Game 4 in Phoenix, I was very confident we'd turn it around, win the series, and go all the way.

  • vernon maxwell = michael jordans nightmare.

maxwell was the only one who could guard jordan

  • How many points did Max have in Game 3, I know he hit five straight three-pointers.

  • I believe it was 34.

  • MAD MAX!

  • Comment removed

  • Hakeem dominated Game 7 against the Suns.

  • Hakeem The Dream Olajuwan!!!...

  • Most under rated Championship team in NBA histoy. The Rockets kept things interesting while Chicago was on the snide.

  • Maxwell saved that series with his game three explosion.

  • These were the good ol days!!!!

  • The 1994 World's MVP..Hakeem Olajuwon..

  • the Blazers were nothing in the mid-90's. It took the additions of Rasheed Wallace to contend again. As for the Suns, they were the ones who choked after the 1st 2 games. They kep getting owned by the Rockets. It's sad that the Suns always underachieve in playoff time.

  • Suns shoulda won this series..guess Houston showed the heart of a champion..
